Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

The history of shipping

4000 BCE
The first shipping war begins betweens Osis and Setis and divides the land of the Nile into Upper and Lower Egypt. Osis fans insist that Osiris/Isis is the canonical shipping, while Setis fans believe that Isis will fall for Sets badboy charm.
3500 BCE: First slash fic. Horus/Set

500 CE: The Dark Ages of Shipping begins. The pope bans shipping, insisting that the Judas/Jesus slash fic is just wrong. Most analysists agree that this move is a retaliation for the poor reviews of his The Holy Trinity incestfic.
1300 CE: The first post-dark age shipping war between Arthiveres and Quinnielots.

...etc ad nauseum.

Is this not about wars over moving large quantities of goods great distances?
    I am confused.

You know, History makes a lot more sense when you think of almost every conflict actually being a shipping war.
