So the first episode was amazing, because most first episodes are. You have years of working up to one night of getting people's attention.
Second episode got me excited for the series though. Man. Like how each episode is this short fable about morality and societal roles, but it fits into this bigger picture of the Donnelly brothers and the shit they've gotten themselves into.
what i really like is
how they didn't continue with some lame lovestory with the girl and about all the years wasted. she does it and says no and maybe it'll come to something, but atleast there isn't all this lame cockteasing and bullshit. also, it sucks that everyone knows her husband is dead and no one has the heart to tell her)
oh and the music sucks, but that's a given today for any show. it's weird because the only song i picked up on during the second episode was Louie, Louie, because it started playing during a quiet part where nothing was happening. If they're talking or doing something, i filter out the crappy music like i do for commercials. My roommate started groaning at the cheesy ballad that was playing and it wasn't until then that I realized that there was a cheesy ballad playing. So oh well.
I kinda like it, though I hope it doesn't get too soap-operaish like Friday Night Lights as time went on. Just keep the emotional stuff low-key and I'll watch.
Also, the main guy's face is stuck in one expression for the whole show, like he's sucking on something sour. Its hot.
Dear lord did you see the main character's abs at one point. I think it was when he was in the bed (could have been while hosing off) but that fucker is ripped more than jesus.
I like how the good brother who is at university is the one who when forced knows how to do shit right.

Oh
I saw.
And then after the commercial break he's all wet and naked and I'm like, 'Okay, now this is just an excuse to have him wet and naked and you know what I'm okay with that'
The lead character bugs the hell out of me. Is it Jimmy? The one brother that is the big cheese. I think it's Jimmy.
It's his facial expressions, or lack thereof. He looks like he's constantly working to make sure that his entire lower jaw is sucked back into his head.
When i took a look at the title i thought we were gonna be talking about the black Donnelly's. The ones from Ontario who were murdered back in the old day. Come on....anybody know what i am talking about?

anyone seen that mexican crime show from a few years ago
it was called kingpin, and i think it was on nbc but didnt do well so only had 6 episodes
had that same good mobster feel. was kinda like the sopranos, except that it was about mexican drug cartels
it was pretty good. i remember some cool stuff in it like some military captain blowing up their factories with tanks so that they would have to give him a bigger payoff
but instead they kidnapped him and injected heroin into him for like a week to get him hooked
I've seen the first two episodes I think I'll keep up with it. Seems to be pretty interesting. Though I wasn't too happy to hear a butchered Faint song sans the lyrics.
This show was very meh to me. I absolutely hated the jail-bait kid narration during the course of the first episode.
I can't really explain it, but it bugged the holy crap out of me.
jail-bait kid narration? What?
You mean that guy who says he's their friend and just happens to know everything that happened?
Yes.
Absolutely hated that guy. The way he described the situation was horrificly bad.
I really wanted to like the show because the concept is cool, but it just doesn't hook me and it probably isn't a coincidence that it got rolled out now that The Departed won those oscars.
I've watched the first two episodes but I'll probably just leave it and ignore the next time it comes on because that last episode was pretty boring and from the reviews online I've read it doesn't get any better.

The thing about the narration that bugged me is that it struck me as ripped off from Goodfellas. Not the exact words, but the style of the narration. But that's a really minor complaint. I'm liking this show so far. And I'd totally go gay for the main brother.
Yeah, he was pretty hot holding a sledgehammer all covered in blood.
Also, I like the guy who plays the dead Irish Mob guy's brother. He is hella creepy and menacing.
While I like the main Italian guy, I always picture him as Latino, since thats what he was in Oz and the a Law and Order episode he was in. Still, great actor though.

I can relate to that.
I saw like 15 minutes last night and I can live without it.
the higher our ratings are, the more closely the job i do is scrutinized
It's cool. American Idol is on now, so you guys have nothing to worry about.

I kind of like the music too though it's lacking in Dropkick Murphys

Drives me nuts.
Beyond that..not a bad show.
If i could figure out how to lime this quote it would be limed for the truth!
I actually laughed when Jimmy Icecream was randomly placed in the story.
"Where the hell did you come from?"
I'd fuck him
Did someone break a dead guys knees to fit him in a barrell in the OC
I didn't fucking think so
That guy is the reason I can't enjoy this show.
and maybe Leno when nothing else is on
someone rip it and host it for me cos they wont let me see it from this country
was pretty good
so i am wanting this mysterious online 3rd episode
rockmonkey why dont you find a way to save it and then you can watch it like a normal video (and upload it)

Has that good mobster show feel though. Family, kidnappings, murder, territory, etc.

Unless he is under the age of sexual consent and tempting you to have sex with him.

No I'm allowed to dig things that I dig. Such as the pilot of this show.
