Oh and I'm not sure if everyone noticed the new tiers. Basically there are upgrades to nearly all the levels. So that's pretty awesome.

Just to be clear, you don't need to pay the extra $1 for those new $X+1 reward tiers. It's just their way of skirting the kickstarter rules in order to beef up the existing tiers.

They have breached the 50% mark - with two weeks to go. I hope that more people are just waiting last minute - or those (and there's a lot!) sitting at 15 bucks pledge just a little more!

In the mean time... here's some fun I did to help promote...

Heh! Most are guessing AstroChicken's link...!

One of the things they were doing (and never really judged yet?) was making "Twinkie Nose" versions of yourself (sort of like how the Two Guys have that nose)... These have been the submissions I did thus far - last one is one of my favorites.

We are getting closer to our goal and closer to the end of the campaign. If you haven't pledged, now is the time!

The SQ3 commentary was especially great. Ken and Roberta Williams (Sierra Founders) stopped by and said hi which was a great moment.

There has also been a 4 hour(!) "Superfan Hangout" which Scott Murphy joined in on.

Also, who would want to pass on getting their very own buckazoid?

Getting slightly nervous... Bit under 200k to go with 8 days left. Not impossible, but... I really really hope this doesn't fail. :(

I want the game and I want the guys to get another chance at maybe doing a true SQ sequel in the future based on what they do here. Given all I can give at this point, but I've got my fingers crossed more people come around and push this one over the top.

This morning the Two Guys revealed the main character for their new SpaceVenture along with some other details, so for those on the fence wanting more info... here's the new star of SpaceVenture! AceHardwayRevealed.jpg

Want more info on the reveal? There's a PDF here or a Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation here so check either of those out for all the news!

I don't want to be a sourpuss, but I really hope they don't stick with that visual style for the hero. I guess most of it's fine, but the face just makes me think of Kai's Power Tools circa 1995.

Did you miss the idea behind "Ace Hardway" and "Rooter"?

  • wonderpugwonderpug Registered User regular
I'm not sure what I could've missed that would affect my like or dislike of the art style.

This looks like it might not make it. That's really too bad, I loved the Space Quest games.

I should probably up my pledge from $15.

Ace Hardware(look it up) and Roto-Rooter.

Maybe it's the intent to remind you of power tools?

  • UselesswarriorUselesswarrior Registered User regular
Dude let it go. He just doesn't like the art style.

Nah, if they don't give up, it's close enough for a last big push. There were worse situations on Kickstarter already.

If they were still in the 200'000, then it would be pretty bad, I agree. But that last push gives me hope.

Just to be sure we're on the same page, I'm not talking about power tools like table saws and drill presses. Kai's Power Tools was an image manipulation software program that was often used to skew faces circa 1990s:

I sure hope these guys pull this out in the final few days like the LSL one did (a lot of others seem to.) Space Quest was always my favorite of the big Sierra games - not sure how more people aren't excited about this. I might just have to up my pledge.

This cave leads to the inhospitable surface of the planet. There is nothing for you to see there.

What are the odds of them having a rich gaming industry friend bail them out with the last $100k or whatever at the last minute if they're still short?

  • JarikithJarikith Registered User regular
Show their passion for getting this funded, a group of SpaceVenture backers got together to make a single room retro style point and click adventure game!

    And we're at 400'000.

100'000 to go and more than 3 full days left.

This is going' to be a nailbiter.

This one because it doesn't have the insane media backing of Republique will be close, but 20% in the crunch time pledge period isn't far outside the realm of possibility.

Yeah I did not know that existed.

...Or maybe I did, fifteen years ago? At least, not recently.

Just wanted to give a shout out to these awesome Space Quest fans who made this little one room mini adventure in support of the Two Guys Kickstarter in these last few days!

    http://www.spacequest.net/index.php/pag ... upport-r41

Check it out because its BRILLIANT & FUNNY!

In case you were curious about what the Astro COCK was going to sound like, here you go:

Also for your convenience the two guys have Created an Official Inventory VIEWER so you can see what your rewards may or may not be depending on your wallet!: http://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/projects/16 ... 1339160210

Want to know what the hell Ken Williams has been up to and hear him reminisce about the good ol' Days of Compuserve and the Imagination Network? OH YEAH YOU DO: http://traffic.libsyn.com/techjives/201 ... s_Pope.mp3
Oh look! A Video interview with Ellen GLaDOS herself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9ndC1f47YQ

Her husband joins the fray too! (also a voice actor for this space gig): http://www.twitch.tv/andromedaguys/b/320792121

Did I miss anything? I hope this whets your appetite, shows you how ridiculously hardworking and imaginative these guys have been and makes you want to pledge or up that pledge!

Come on now Space Quest fans, you KNOW you wanna get your mitts on one of those beautiful buckazoids!

  • auhsorauhsor Registered User regular
Eep some broken links there. Anyways it's been pretty exciting with all the interviews etc. The Ken Williams one was great. It's so good to hear about some of the background of Sierra.

Oh yeah, 3 days to go go if you haven't pledged now is the time!

  • wonderpugwonderpug Registered User regular
They should make a nice compilation of all these interviews and add it to the lower reward tiers. Seems like old Sierra fans would find that worth $15 all on its own, and it'd have a chance of drawing backers who loved the Sierra Quest era but no longer game much in recent years.

@Wonderpug: Chris (The Space Pope) Let slip that they were going to be doing just that but not to the low tiers, to those who get the disc with commentaries and bloopers so low/mid tiers and onward. He said that the disc would be PACKED with content

EDIT: @Wonderpug: I passed your idea along to Scott just now because I think it is brilliant for the end of the Kickstarter, dude!

Edit: Hey Guys, I just wanted to give everyone an update on the SpaceVenture Kickstarter by the Creators of Space Quest:

We are currently hovering at 420k and need 80k to seal the deal but there is only 71 hours left so if ever any of you guys and gals were on the fence about Joining the cause for Andromeda, now would be the time!

Tons of awesome stuff even in the 30 dollar tier but the real meat is about 125 *Buckazoids come to mind* Of course, ANY amount at all that you pledge will mean the world to us. We love our $15 backers to pieces , after all!

Go here http://tgakick.com and peruse the rewards and I think you'll like what you see!

Be a part of bringing this classic game developing duo from the Gold age of SIERRA back to the forefront to join their pals!

Thanks a lot and hopefully we'll see you on the comments page!

Tomorrow, 6/10/12 at 2:45pm PST/5:45pm PST Chris Pope will doing a live interview with Gary 'The Man With The Golden Pipes' Owens. Narrator guy from SQ 4 and 6 and for the upcoming SpaceVenture! I could listen to Gary read the phone book and be thoroughly entertained, so this should be good!

A fan, Rudy Marchant is offering up something for everyone to take part in.

With less than 2 days to go before the Kickstarter deadline and with more than 90% of the goal reached, pledger Rudy Marchant gives the fans even more reason to contribute to the cause! He will give away three ultra-rare highly-collectible Sierra games to three randomly picked fans who pledged $30 or more!

Click here to read on: http://guysfromandromeda.com/win-classics-pledge-30-chance/

For All those who haven't had a chance to try it yet, Living Concept art 4 is amazing. You'll see it really is all coming together and it hits all the right notes in order to tickle one's funny bone:

This was posted on the Kickstarter page by Warbird Games: ''This is my tribute to Space Quest. Please share it with people who've forgotten all the great times they had in the twisted universe of Scott and Mark: youtu.be/j4qMKZzLebM?a''

Check it out and share it with everyone because it's a great reminder of why we all liked or like Space Quest and the Two Guys!

Also: 35k to go boys and girls, if you can up your pledge, please do! If not, thank you for backing in the first place and you've been a real pantload!
