There are two cool pictures here. Some numbers do confuse me, why does the barbarian have more than 2X dex as he does str and why is a lvl 59 barbarian still in Nightmare? Anyway, cool stuff.
Probably because it's a mock up with completely pretend data.
I very much disagree with this decision Blizzard has made. In Inferno each additional player gives monsters 110% hp and 15% damage. 4.3X HP is fine, 4 players should have synergy. But 45% more damage means solo play may make more sense than group play. And in hardcore? No way in hell should someone group in inferno hardcore, solo is the way to go.

They may just be having fun with the sample numbers. After all, this hypothetical player lost a hardcore character in under thirty seconds.

UGH I am so excited. 3 more full days left then I head off to the store which opens at 10 am and buy Diablo 3 and play it on my new machine with a gtx 560 8 gb ddr3 ram and 3.3 ghz i5 2500k I can't wait!!!!

It's almost like Blizzard has explicitly stated that they haven't balanced Inferno around hardcore.
You are also ignoring the tremendous amount of benefit having 4 players with heals, fears, stuns, and damage buffs and enemy debuffs can be. Some very good players have said that they will be attempting Inferno clears starting with 4 people, not one, because they feel it has an advantage.
It's a bit presumptuous at this point to make declarations either way, as blizzard has not beaten Inferno themselves. They don't even necessarily know what builds and tactics will be viable to beat the last couple of Inferno acts.

Yea I guess you guys are right, each monk in the game gives an aura for all 4 players and there are plenty of other synergies.

The CE Soundtrack is out. Potential spoilers in some of the titles, probably. So go at your own risk. I've just got a tab running with the playlist in the background listening to the music without checking titles.
Ok, so I have all but abandoned PC gaming for the last 5 years in favor of consoles. Now we are in need of a new laptop and at the same time both my wife and I are keenly interested in Diablo, probably the first PC game we both have had interest in since the early days of WoW. My question is, since I have not had reason to pay attention to video card specs in centuries...how much of a laptop do I need to run this thing? Do I have to go full on bleeding edge 1800 dollar gaming rig. Or are we talking like the glory days of the original diable where even a middle of the road laptop would perform admirably. Any guidance would be fantastic! I look at the spec sheet on line and it really is greek to me now since I do not really know video cards by name anymore etc...
You can get a decent Asus gaming laptop that will run D3 for ~1000 bucks. That said, you could build TWO desktops for the same price, and you and your wife could both play.
The big difference between the original Diablo and this, is that you are going to want an actual discrete video solution. No Intel built in. It needs to be an Nvidia or ATI mobile solution if you go with a laptop.
I think while it's generally good advice to go with discrete video card, I don't think it's needed for Diablo 3.
Good god, the battle.net forums are home to the worst people.
I searched to see if Diablo 3 was runnable on Pentium 4, just to see if my girlfriend's PC could run it, and I got a thread full of assholes. That forum is rife with the special kind of smugness you can only get from an idiot who thinks they are really clever.
I hate when I have to go diving into that site to find pieces of information. It's like that scene in Temple of Doom where Kate Capshaw has to reach a button at the end of crevice full of insects. What I find so amusing about is that the battle.net forums have always, since the days of Diablo 1, attracted the worst type of gamers.

So right after Blizzard announces that they're ONLY showing Battletags and nothing else in game they release a mock up of the Diablo Armory with character names front and center in all caps? I feel like either every character on that page should be named Fartderps or they need to revisit their stupid policy on in-game name display.

Your suggestion makes no sense and you know it, the guy's Battletag is right at the top of the page. It really isn't that complicated. You have a player name and each of your characters has a character name. The only potentially confusing thing is that you see your teammates' player names over their head in-game, which is simply for convenience since Blizzard recognizes that hardly anybody actually cares about other people's character names and they probably didn't want to clutter the screen with both.

On another more related note I is sad that have wait play at 3 AM. Speak lowering. Sadness high.

Sorry, it does make sense. In game when I'm playing with my buddy, I see "Batman" over every character he plays regardless of gender or class. His female wizard is Batman. So his his barb. And his two female demon hunters. They're all Batman.
Why should the armory be any different? Since I can't see his character names in game, how am I supposed to know that it was with Kindlerella that picked up that legendary I wanted to see and not Anise or Beau or whatever other female wizard he made that I played with last? It's Batman all the way down as far as I'm concerned.
If "hardly anybody actually cares about other people's character names," then why bother displaying them in the armory?

Given blizzard's track record I'm sure they'll nerf it into the ground because "casuals" can't cope with it and demand the same gaming experience as "the hardcore players".
What you described was in Wow's case, a completely different beast. Hardcore wow players could experience all the content whereas more casual players would be screwed into doing scholomance runs forever. In D3 we get to play through the whole game and all that is blocked off is a non-essential difficulty. Don't see why they would nerf it at all.
