I wonder about the prospects of playing Diablo 3 on a PC gamepad. It is possible to sync the buttons on the keypad to the Diablo 3 interface? I also wonder how doable it is to use your gamepad to move in Diablo 3, or to select targets...
It would be so cool to if it's possible thou... all 8 skills would be pretty much accessible without using the keyboard!

Oh, ok. Last I was up to date, they were working with a "diablo 3 related product", and it was a bit unclear how much they needed to change the "normal" release of the game.
So, we've got ~62 1/2 hours until the servers go live, correct?
Totally leaning towards going to bed at like 8pm on Monday. Just wear myself out and get up at 4 or 5; close to unlock time but with a buffer in case of shenanigans.

There is no confirmation. The story is the same as it has been for months. They're trying to figure out how to make it work but have not given it the actual greenlight.

If I buy the CE, will it add extra time, for free, after my annual pass, or will it just take some of the cost away from my next "payment" in the annual pass?

If you preordered awhile ago, before the release date was announced, Amazon didn't have the option to choose 'Release Date Delivery'.
However, if you went back to your 'open orders' on the Amazon site after the release date was announced then you could upgrade your shipment to release date delivery.
So I would check there. But if they aren't offering the option anymore then you missed the window.

I keep thinking about how I can manage all the RL (kids, work, wife) things to get as much game time in as possible. I only know a couple of people getting the game so have added my battletag info to the doc. These forums sure seem to have a much lower asshat ratio than the others I tend to frequent.

Yeah it's not even going to show up at my house until the evening of the 15th because that's when UPS shows up around here. It's the day after my last final, so I'm just gonna go see a movie in the afternoon and catch up on some TV. But the time I'm done it'll be here, I've have downloaded the whole game, and all I'll need to do is pop in the serial key.

Try rebooting your computer.
I would try deleting cookies and then reboot. You may want to check out Norton antidemon as well. Some of them are real pesky though. I had to sacrifice a goat and sanctify my drive.

I tried to reboot it but it wouldn't let me. I even tried unplugging it but it's still on. I don't even know how I'm posting this, I unplugged the internet.. There's more now, a deep bass sound, as if there's something really large getting closer.

I tried playing some torchlight, but it just isn't scratching the itch. I just want to throw spiders at the hordes of hell.

Really? Doesn't surprise me too much, a lot of battle.net 2.0 stuff is really short sighted and not very community focused.
A steam group might make this all easier, if people don't mind running the game with an overlay.
