The Whispered World (which will run you 20 bucks on Steam or 15 on GOG), the Commandos series, the Alien and Zombie Shooter series, among others.
Oooh, nice. How long does this sale last?
General Mayhem sale is 12 days from now. They'll be adding games they've said, and some games will be leaving early (all of the Square Enix and EA stuff is just till the 20th). Everything else so far is the full 12 days.
What I did was get open to the revelation that Coinstars give gift cards these days. Took a jar full of coins and turned it into an amazon voucher. Wish someone had bonked me on the head when they started doing this. Steam needs to get on that bandwagon.
For most stuff the shop with points thing that Chase does is pretty good. I'm just astounded that it doesn't work on something like a kindle book or an mp3 because it's electronic. I'm not sure if this would fall into the same boat because it is an electronic thing, but I'm not downloading said thing from Amazon.

What really?! That's awesome! I would love to dump my loose change into my Steam Wallet in this fashion... but even the Amazon gift card is a fantastic idea. Gotta see if the machine at my grocery store offers that option.
Coin star takes a cut if you want cash back, but the online vouchers are great since there's no fee. I usually go down about once every year or two, stand there for 20 minutes sorting coins, then get the amazon voucher. Pretty nifty.
E: huh, they do toys r us now I guess. Yet another way to turn loose change into vidya games.

Please pull all your silver coin out before you dump into coinstar.

Yeah, it's pretty great... When I moved late last year I brought the change I'd been accumulating for years to a coinstar machine. Ended up with over $200 in Amazon credit. The Safeway employees were amused by how long it took for the machine to register it all.
Its also pretty damn noisy. Feel kind of awkward when people are standing in the vicinity and I'm just plinking out like I hit the jackpot or something.

LOL, yeah I remember going in with a big jar full o' coins and having to shove 'em in a handful at a time to avoid jamming the machine.
But really, who goes in with only a few?

I do! I keep a ceramic bowl/ashtray thing by my bed for change and it gets filled up every few weeks or so, usually getting me between $20 and $40.
I remember people bagging on it a bit for being really repetitive so I never picked it up, but man now I can't fucking wait to chainsaw some orks.
Edit: Also okay, why is Saint's Row 3 being listed as $90 on a bunch of services, marked down to $25? Is it... to like weirdly hide that it's not that great a sale or what the hell?
According to the CAG thread the Amazon guy expects them to get Stronghold Collection Steam keys if anyone is interested in that (5 bucks). Have also said Crusader Kings 2 will hit the sale at a really great price.
This is pretty smoking man, I've had a blast with the demo. Thanks a lot man.
It's the universes way of rewarding me for finally getting the house on the market:) Sorry screwed you over with timing though;) But it all worked out.

Hey chaps. It appears that Steam has capriciously bestowed upon me a coupon for 50% off King Arthur II. I own KA1 and have barely ever gotten around to playing it, so I have little use for this. If anybody wants it, it's up for grabs. Expires the 28th of this month, though.
I've been interested in the Battlestation games for a while, but I don't know a single soul who has played them. Anyone have any impressions?
Battlestations Midway? That's the only one I played and it was on Xbox.
It was pretty interesting, but the game was not easy for me. But maybe that was because I was playing on a console. The tutorial is long but you can dive into the first mission (Pearl Harbor) if you feel like it. Every single boat, submarine and airplane can be piloted by you. You can swap between different units on a whim and take control of them, but you give overall commands via a map, completing missions.
Its kind of an Action RTS., but more mission oriented. It's a lot of fun switching between units like being a dive bomber pilot then switching to the nearest battleship once he drops his payload. I live for those kind of games but if you want to play an Action RTS I recommend Sacrifice which is usually 9.99 or the Airmech Alpha/Beta, which is F2P.
That... sounds really, really good. Dammit, now I have to look into this.
