Weird, if go to the Paradox publisher page on Steam, most links go the the games offical pages instead of the store page. And all games say "Free Demo" instead of the discounted price. http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/Paradox Interactive
edit: nevermind, looks like it's fixed now. still weird though.
Ridge Racer Unbounded is 50% off already? didn't that just come out? But man.. I love some racing games. Fuck.
Yes, it did just come out, to absolutely no fanfare. And it's not even available anywhere except Steam, that I've been able to find (the PC version, that is), which is really odd.
The demo was actually quite fun, though. I may buy it for $25.

It works if you go in Chrome, not in the steam application. Just realized that by accidently clicking your link. Time to download the Ridge Racer Demo straight from the website. Thanks Sumanai.

I was using Chrome, they must have fixed it just after I posted it.

Whoa, whoa... Krater "brings you far into the future of a post-apocalyptic Sweden". No one told me this! Sold!

Just picked up King Arthur II, it's DLC, and the stand alone KA1 DLC I didn't have, all for $8.

The sales where a whole catalog is on sale with individual games getting bigger sales daily bug me. I want warlock, and 10 bucks seems like a good price but I'm worried it's going to get it's own day and be like 5 bucks. And if I wait until Sunday and it still isn't on sale, then the weekend I could have spent playing it is over. What do I do?
Did anyone see a Demo of Civ: Gods and Kings maybe 20 minutes ago?
I went to the specials tab and next to G&K it said "Try it free" or something, when clicked it took me to a sort of Civ5 splash page in the steam browser though no sign of a demo. Only a few seconds later when I tried to figure out what I was seeing the "Try" button had turned back into the pre-order price. I feel I may be losing my mind but I know they did say there'd be a demo at some point
Okay, I played the demo for Unbounded and it was goddamn hilariously awesome. The racing wasnt exactly simmy, but the explosions and destroying things was fun as hell. Did anyone else pick it up already? I don't want to play racing games solo, so I might just pass for a bit if I don't know anyone else who has it. http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-ridge-racer-unbounded/17-5820/ is Giantbomb's quicklook for it.

I am waffling on getting it now or waiting for the summer sale. Same with Sniper Elite V2.

Just get it now for $10. Its a great price, and Warlock is a new enough game that it is unlikely that it will go much lower than that.

Yeah it was released maybe a month ago. They'd be crazy to cut the price more.

Woah, wait, Warlock is a Majesty sequel? Is it any good? Looks a little like Age of Wonders...
It is set in the Majesty universe, for the dozen people who were really invested in it. It really feels like a fantasy Civ 5. Try the demo.

Quick client-related question:
How do I prevent event notices from popping up and taking focus away from fullscreen games?
I've disabled everything I can find, so unless I just overlooked something...
I keep getting event notices from steam groups, which usually isn't a big deal. It becomes a big deal when I'm running a non-Steam racing sim and a notice pops up during a multiplayer race and essentially alt-tabs me out of the game.
If it comes down to it I'll either leave the affected groups or do what I usually do and turn Steam off while I'm racing.
So, I've got to say, the customization available in Krater is pretty cool, even though I've hopefully only seen the very beginning.
For instance, right now, my tanks AOE Damage+Taunt also heals any party member that happens to also be in the AOE.
Also, I was wrong earlier when I said there were two betas. I had just read something that was a little misleading. So, while there's no save option, if you quit, it saves. But for me, I had previously logged in the second time after a new build, which wiped my characters.
I'm still hoping to see a bit more from it, but I think it was worth the $15. 4 Classes (that I have access to, at least)--Tank, DPS, Healer, CC, with only 3 Spots on your team definitely makes things interesting, and with the ability to apparently tweak your characters by a decent amount, it seems like you could definitely get a bit out life out of it.
Looking forward to seeing how crafting evolves as you hit higher levels.
My only wish was that I could customize appearance, given that Implants don't have any impact on your character model. But maybe that's in the full version, hard to tell.

It's been clearly stated by some of the older beta members and the dev's that what we're seeing in the test client from Steam is just the tip of the iceberg. There's something like 60 different skills, and you can craft nearly infinite variations of those skills...then boost them all differently...
As for customization, that's also "tip of the iceberg" as your dudes level up you can specialize them at certain points, and change how they will look. There's also lots of recruiter officers that will give different looking dudes. You can also craft implants that change their appearance later.
Also: Combat apparently evolves to become rather complicated and thought provoking. I have no anecdote for this, just what I'm able the glean.

Saw the different looking guys at the Recruiter. Glad to hear about the implants that will have effect+appearance as well.
Definitely a fun little game. I'd really love to see something like this done in a fantasy setting especially--goofy gasmasks on everyone aren't totally my thing, but its not a dealbreaker. :P
Oh, are there any female characters you can recruit? I've only seen guys thus far.

What's the cheapest way to get Max Payne 3 so that I can still register it on steam?
Edit: Price guide says it's avaiable on steam for 29.01% of it's price here in europe in russia. That seems to good to be true, maybe the price guide isn't up to date? If it is, is there anyone in russia who'd be willing to gift it wo me, and I'll send the full price to you?
Females will be patched in before the multi-player patch but not in at release. Apparently it seems the developers did not realize there would be any demand for female playable characters, and are scrambling to re-fit the existing female models to meet that demand. There's a few posts on the subject on the Steam forums.

So has anybody here played Warlock - Master of the Arcane? Fantasy Civ V sounds like it's right up my alley, and at a nice price too, but I just want to make sure it's a reasonably solid game first.

Wasn't that the game where the devs more or less said that since tv shows are 24fps, that's all they were aiming for with the game?

Unbounded is nothing like previous games in the series, but it looks like a pretty fun arcade racer.
Calling it "Ridge Racer" is basically Namco shitting in the mouths of RR fans though.
