Yeah as fun as the game is I can't believe it took them 10 years to make it. Not only could a 12 year old have written it, but the level design is almost identical to D2 and the graphics are nothing special.
Check it at prime time. See a sweet sweet upgrade that is totally underpriced at something stupid like 4000g. Click on it. Already sold. GG noobs.

Hmmm, Plague Frozen champs nearly spelled disaster. Particularly when they chain-froze the two of us over puddles of goo. Least it wasn't Frozen Desecrater.
Ok, Inferno's bosses aren't actually cakewalk to solo.
Butcher's hook oneshots me. It's easy to avoid, but I got a pretty slow weapon so occassionally I get caught due to the slow cast animations. I can spirit walk out of that, but I'd rather save spirit walks for avoiding the otherwise unavoidable hook barrage thingy, which does around 20k damage on me. Now, this would all be fine, except when ALL THE FLOOR IS ON FIRE. I don't have enough dps to kill Butcher before there comes a moment when every single square starts burning at the same time. Partially that's cause I have to keep moving all the time, but also apparently the fight's a damn gearcheck :<
Maybe if I switched build for that fight, but I really want to keep that sweep nephalem buff. Meh
What is this nephalem buff I keep hearing mentioned?

At lvl 60 every time you kill a rare/elite pack you get a stack of buff called Nephalem Valour. Every stack gives around 15% magic and gold find, and it stacks up to 5. The stacks last 30 minutes or until you switch a skill.

Wait, if you salvage an item you get the gems back in your inventory??!
Why didn't someone tell me that?
My wizard is getting all of the monk gear. He's going to be so twinked it's ridiculous. Hope my clutch Act 3/Boss 2 kill counted. Not that he was hard or anything.
Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.
Wait, if you salvage an item you get the gems back in your inventory??!

Right? It kind of makes using the Jeweler guy to remove gems pointless.
I can see his usefulness at higher levels when I am not upgrading gear every couple of minutes, but while leveling through Normal Mode I always just salvaged gear to get gems back.

On another note, I am done with Skill Trees. This Skill and Rune system is where it's at now.

Well they had to get everything to tip-top shape in order to keep the downtime to a minimum.
Okay, so the end of Act 3 Nightmare is where the game has finally gotten to the level of difficulty I expected. I actually ran into an elite mob (and its minions) that I was unable to defeat no matter how many times I died trying (nightmarish, vampiric Phasebeast elite).

I had to restart to a new game when I got to a group of molten vampiric quillbeasts in Act 3.
Constantly refilling their health and plinking away at me from behind their stupid wall of floor fire.
I've made over 400k putting rares on AH, 5 items. People love that buyout button. I have another batch of rares up now, just hoping the AH is functional.
so im in act 2, also a desert, and im starting in the sewers?
really blizzard? really? it took you that long to write this?
I love it when people complain about things in this game that aren't real. No, you don't start in the sewers in act 2. You won't go to the sewers until about halfway through the act, and then only briefly. Act 2 is reminiscent of Act 2 in D2, just like Act 1 is reminiscent of Diablo 1 and Act 1 of Diablo 2. This just in: the game is still called Diablo.
Oh, also, if you rush through the game you can beat normal mode in 7 hours. It turns out that when you skip all the optional content a game won't have as much content anymore.

Please show me another Rogue-like (isometric A-RPG) that looks better than Diablo 3. Show me one that looks half as goddamn good.
I'm selling a lot of rares for fairly cheap on the AH just to make room.
I salvaged most of my stuff. Are you making more money with the AH?
Not sure yet. Probably would be if everything wasn't so laggy! I also have a feeling I'm really underselling stuff, but I have no idea what rares should go for. I've been selling the crappy ones (with just like +vit and +pickup rate) for like 750-1000 each. Past that.. dunno what I should be selling for..
How the hell does the price on these rubies keep fluctuating so much? Apparently there are people who are capable of buying things in the AH right now without spamming it for 15 minutes to buy one fucking thing?

Finished normal. Writing was a bit meh throughout, but still quite enjoyable and act 4 was still pretty damned epic anyway.
The mystery that is the gem artisan:
Shen is Malthael, right? Old dude with a lot of knowledge and wisdom, looking for a gem? Sounds like the former leader of The Angiris Council to me. No idea how Dirgest relates though, assuming it's not just another of the old man's stories.
Thoughts on plots for future expansion(s):
I'm assuming the main plot point would be the recovery of Leah's soul and restoration of her being. It's assumed by many that her soul is lost, but Shen opens up the possibility that it's not. Could tie in the capture of Adria and the elimination of her and Maghda's cult as well.
Also thinking Shen could play a fairly big role in an expansion. There's his hunt for his gem that could be a sidequest, and if the bit in my previous spoiler is true there could be a plot line about his restoration.
Wouldn't mind taking a trip to the Pandemonium Fortress at some point either. It sounds cool and looks awesome on the outside in Book of Cain.
What I'd really like, though? An epilogue to the series that focuses more on world building, and the rebuilding of the world. Traveling to various locales to clean out the last vestiges of evil and the Burning Hells that remain on Sanctuary, and all that.

From a ten year development time I'd expect a damn compelling story with real and engaging characters. The Blizzard art department did fairly well though, I'll give them that.

The Pandemonium Fortress has already been visited. It was the "home base" in Act IV of Diablo II.

Speaking for myself, I'm pricing at 500x the level requirement but've only sold one thing so far, so that's probably too high. I'm figuring some kind of multiplier based on the level of the best attribute, which'll probably work out to around 200-250x level.

Pretty sure the people who ask that question are killed.
Also, Torchlight 2 looks fantastic. It's not barfing 'GRIMDARK' all over the place like Diablo 3 but it's style is very nice. I'm sure someone is well on their way to making a 'GRIMDARK' TL2 mod/texture pack though.

Think it would be neat to tie off all your follower's storied in the x-pac too, maybe set it in Westmarch or Kingsport.
Also when you pick up the scoundrel the guy you kill mentions that the thieves guild. Wouldn't be very smart for them to hunt you down as you've just slaughtered a hells worth of demons but could be a sidequest.
