If anyone is doing some silver runs later tonight my wife on the pc has a male quarian engy and she'll need the commendation win. Zaricay is her origin name thingamajiggy.

Awesome curly, I know you'll be gentle with her.
He'll be as gentle as krogan battlemasters usually are.
Unless he is on his Asari vanguard. She's kinky ^_^
Sorry for bailing guys, only had time for one game. I'll be online later though.
Battlenet ID: MildC#11186 - If I'm in the game, send me an invite at anytime and I'll play.
Based on the spreadsheet and linear progress, it would have 25% more spare ammo and do 20% more damage (excepting against armor, which would continue to reduce it to 5 per hit.)
In about half an hour I'll be up for some multi if anyone wants to invite me then. I need to get in at least one silver with one of the new races as well.
Oh, also, I'm guaranteed to score the lowest, so if you want a confidence boost and all that....
Jesus Christ I need to play more. Everyone and their mother has a Geth SMG and I don't.
... you want to suffer with us?
Man, mine's at VIII and if I could give it away (and wouldn't risk getting 10 more of them doing so), I might just do that, if the Hague wouldn't have me up on crimes against humanity.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!

Jesus Christ I need to play more. Everyone and their mother has a Geth SMG and I don't.
Consider yourself blessed.
That being said...I don't know how to feel this week over.
I mean on the plus side I've managed to get 4 ranks with the Widow and the Carnifex in this week alone. Along with the Scorpion and another rank in the Wraith.
Oh the negative side, I've had so many wave 10 fails that not only do I not get the payout but it feels like a waste of time.
The thing that burns me even more is that I seem to be the only one willing to spend items on wave 10. I've had games(Gold and Silver) where my entire squad would go down in the first 20 seconds of wave 10 and none of them would pop a medigel.
As if they were used to failure or something. And then I end of having to spend all my medigel...and depending on the objective sometimes I can't get it to work.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think the Krysae is that good. I have it at II and it's just a super slow-re-load three shot exploding sniper thing. I don't top scoreboards with it and I keep running out of ammo. But the Reegar? That rocks even for mediocre players like me.
In a week of playing again I burned through all 30+ of my excess medigel. I had to stop buying premium packs to replenish my supply. All the while I have a 100+ of the other equipment packs.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I see consumables as a risk/reward ratio, which is unfortunately a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy.
A group that does well I'm more likely to pop medigel and rockets on, based on those likely being well spent towards completing wave 10 (I very rarely use either earlier than that unless it's a solid group that just got into a shitty spot, which happens). Which means a group I feel is likely to succeed is now even more likely to succeed. If I see other people using equipment, I'm more likely to use it as well. If I see other people stand up and dropping missiles into spawns, I may well do the same.
Conversely, if it's a shitty group, popping gel and missiles into things might get us over the finish line, or it might just be a waste of limited resources. People who are low level, not buffed up, not using consumables of their own, getting themselves killed in stupid ways, etc, all lessen the likelihood of my dropping my own stuff on the line. Just because I can put into 6 digits in points doesn't mean I'm willing to do the lion's share of the work for an equal share of the reward, so a group with the deck a little stacked against it now has a potentially tougher time.
It may seem counter intuitive, but it's actually served me pretty well thus far. Honestly, if a group is getting wiped out on wave 4 or 6 or 7 or whatever, I'll generally just take the loss, grab the credits and run. It's too easy to blow a dozen consumables trying to pound that square peg into a round hole and getting nothing but frustration out of it.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
A level 20 GPSmg would be about as good as level I Locust. I don't know why they haven't buffed it like every week since release, it's terrible.
As for the Reegar, I haven't tried it in gold, but I'm not sure it needs much of a nerf based on a couple silvers. One was a pub match in which I went down all the time, even with vorcha regen, and the other was a match with more illustrious company in Orca and Fencing in which I didn't go down much at all. It's ten foot range and that you spend more time reloading than you do shooting make it a risky proposition unless you have a longer range option (which I didn't, with Flamer). Not very effective against armor, but I didn't have the piercing mod on, so that probably makes it tough enough -- maybe they should give it an innate nerf vs armor. Meanwhile if you're shooting banshees you're within vacuum suck range.
I think they'd nerf the Valiant first. Edit: Or they'll just never nerf it because hey N7 whatevs.

Man, if we get two N7 items this weekend... there's going to be someone out there with a Valiant VII, and they will bring it along while using an Arc Pistol or something just to make people cry.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
The Reegar is great for shields but it doesn't do shit against armor. Health is good but it doesn't always stagger so if you're trying to hose a group you might get hosed yourself (unless you're Vorcha).

I saw a vanguard with a black widow and a claymore I told my wife "there is a man making a statement about cooldowns and how he gives no fucks."

You need to watch CarbonFire in action with it on his Batarian Soldier.
Man I do love having Biotic Charge off cooldown, pointed at a dude two meters away, no lag to speak of, mashing the button... and it just decides it doesn't want to happen for a second or two.
I personally love it when it doesn't register pushing the Charge button at all, or it somehow believes that the target is illegitimate.
Happens a lot near the drop zone of Condor.
I figure that it's just unholy ground to vanguards. Like, a vanguard once carried a Javelin and an Arc Pistol at the same time on that spot and it's cursed for all time.

I do that on my sentinel, but a 30 second charge cooldown sounds...problematic.

Even my Geth Infiltrator can't keep up with him.
Sometimes I suspect Carbon could main the Geth SMG and outdamage the two of us together!
But the sustained DPS on the Reegar X against barriers/health is only like 366, right? Vs. the Valiant I's 340, at any range? Leaving out mods or headshots etc. (can the Reegar headshot?) Edit: Or 345 vs 344, including the Reegar's quarter second charge time. That's assuming the spreadsheet is right on its mechanics, though, which it might not be. I'll have to play around with the two in comparison when I get back from vacation next week 'cause it feels like the Reegar did more than that.
SoundsPlush on

People are saying something like it's got a 300% damage bonus to everything except health.
Basically, it's inflicting a shitload of damage that isn't reflected in the spreadsheet (which is pulled out of the game files).
Ultralight materials were fixed in 1.03. Except they weren't, at all. But people saw it in the patch notes and saw their powers screen numbers change so they think it's working.
Oh, okay. I couldn't tell because some of the responses seemed to be treating it as geniune. My mistake.
I know the Geth SMG is bad and I'm a masochist for using it. Like I said, it's mainly a backup for my GE (and Cerberus Adept) who primarily use the Phalanx.
The Phalanx is probably my favorite gun in the game. It's so useful AND I have it at level X.

They "fixed" it, so that now your powers screen displays the reduced cooldown. Your actual powers still use the unlightened cooldown, except for the GPSmg which is the only one it works on, sort of like a sick joke.

It lists triple damage vs shields in the sheet; people are saying that applies to everything? I guess that's another thing to look into, it didn't feel like it but then I've only used it four times so I'm a bit up in the air on it.

Let's just say its listed damage in comparison to other weapons does not match what everyone is seeing when they break out their stopwatches and time killing stuff with it.
In a week of playing again I burned through all 30+ of my excess medigel. I had to stop buying premium packs to replenish my supply. All the while I have a 100+ of the other equipment packs.
You probably already know this, but just in case- if at all possible, try to leave a match with fewer Ops Survival Packs than medigel. Sometimes you can't, like in the case of wandering into a turret, but otherwise.

Wait people do that? Man thats kind of sad.

Haven't you been around a couple of threads?
We had people doing timed Youtube kill videos to compare stopping power between weapons a thread or two back...

I actually like the Geth SMG. It's a cool gun and I like pairing it up with the Phalanx on my Geth Engineer. Makes for a good backup.
He's joking.
The only people that like the Geth SMG are people that haven't realized how much better every other weapon is.
There are zero weapons that go beyond X.
