Let's just say its listed damage in comparison to other weapons does not match what everyone is seeing when they break out their stopwatches and time killing stuff with it.
Wait people do that? Man thats kind of sad.
Well, how else are you gonna find out who's right?
The sad part is, people know they're wrong but flat out deny it. How are you supposed to argue with these kind of people?
Edit: On another note, one thing I can't wrap my mind around is why the Arc Pistol doesn't get a multiplier for damage against shields. I mean, that's what the arc projector in Mass Effect 2 was all about - stripping shields. And if the Arc Pistol would be really good at stripping shields but only mediocre against everything else, I'd still very much use it.
so pull is the odd man out then? Wasn't sure how useful it was. It seemed like singularity for a more specific target
Yeah pull to me seemed kind of poor and used only on health enemies alone, even then its not that great. Where as you can reave a group and then cluster grenade it and blow them all to fucking hell.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Pull also staggers enemies. And as with Singularity, you can set up biotic explosions with it. Still sub-par, but the staggering-part has saved my ass a bunch of times from pyros and hunters.

So is hanging out in a thread talking about it for years on end.
Shit.
But see I do this at work, when I get home I very rarely post aside from sending curly borderline snuff films in PM.

Killing a couple trooper for the bloodlust bonus, then running up to an Atlas and just standing there shooting it in the face till it's dead was a weird experience for me, as I've only every really played quarian engineer.
So, hit 20 on my tsent, and I cannot survive on silver. I maxed everything but fitness, and am starting to think that was a mistake. What can I drop for fitness, though?
woot I made sure our team got our male quarian out of that last match. We would have been overrun by 2 brutes and banshees with 20 seconds left but i sprinted around them, mad dashed to the ammo, then spammed grenades back to kill them.

Nah, you're fine. 3 fitness is the most I ever take except on like, a Kroguard. You'll get better. It'll get better. Er. Both? I died ALL THE TIME on Silver to begin with.

Ok then. Seems odd that I am thinner than a wet paper towel with sent shields...
It's more of a learning curve. Early on in silver and gold, I'd go full fitness or at least up to 4 as much as I could. As I learned to die less and measure what I could take and what I couldn't, then I started speccing fewer and fewer points into fitness. The 5th point is the jewel of the tree, 15% reduce recharge CD is pretty nice (unless you're a Salarian who can recharge your shields at will). But fitness is certainly helpful starting out on a non-infiltrator class at a higher difficulty.
This is why, generally, all sustained fire weapons are bad/hard to use. Because you have to stand there and get killed to do much dps. There are some weapon/classes that cause a lot of stagger that are good at medium-close range with sustained weapons (Batarian soldier). And then the vanguards who can recharge shields, and the Krogan with massive DR, and the vorcha with regen, and Salarians being able to recharge their shields...
Anyway, I've had good luck with a Turian Sentinel using a hurricane because of the multiple stagger coming from a low CD chain overload plus headshots. But generally, it's just learning the maps and the spawns and when not to stick your head out or try to take that group on head first, and when you can. You'll see.
Just tried my first public silver match. Me as the only infiltrator it seems like my main job is to revive folks. Against banshees and brutes there's not much I can do, other than try to keep other stuff from sneaking up behind while my teammates finish them off.
I also got a message when I logged in. I hope it counted, since we got a full extraction with a few vorcha on the team. I know my luck will probably not be as good the rest of the times.
Infiltrators are great at everything in this game except maybe returning the item to base. Best reviver, best item caper, second best boss killer on Gold.
You can tear banshees and brutes down in a hurry with a big gun.

Unfortunately i'm still stuck with a Mantis... IV I think. Just unlocked Quarian Infiltrator though, holy crap she is a beast against Geth. Yes, thank you, that Prime is now mine.
Non-geth i'll just stick to my old standby of cloaked potshots so no loss really.
Keep buying recruit packs, you'll get that Mantis up to X in no time.

In case there's still someone with the insane post-patch multiplayer problems I had:
THIS POST CONCERNS "CANNOT ACCESS MULTIPLAYER WHATSOEVER"
After testing serval methods I have discovered that the root of this problem lies with the files found locally ( My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3) on the user's computer. The .ini and .config files from previous versions are not compatable with the new DLC or patch.
Steps to rectify the issue:
-Open origin and disable cloud storage for Mass Effect 3 and purge the Cloud Data
-Navigate to C:/Users/[YOUR USERNAME]/My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3
-Cut the /Saves/ Folder (To backup your single player progress and profile) and paste it on the Desktop
-Delete the Mass Effect 3 Folder from My Documents/Bioware folder
-Launch Mass Effect 3 ( All required files will be re-written to the My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3 Folder
-Exit the Game then move the /Saves Folder that you pasted to the desktop back into the /My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3 Folder
-Re-enable Cloud Storage( Optional)
-Launch the Game and if/when propmted select to use the local data and delete the Cloud data.
You should now have access to multiplayer and your single player progress should be intact.
ugh... I didn't think I was that good. you know, probably average. I just had 80k with the next closest at 40k and we failed because while I successfully soloed the first objective mission I couldn't handle both of them on my own.
On the other hand, It makes me feel more skilled that they all sat there and watched me singlehandedly do what they somehow couldn't for a round and a half.

When I play with a bunch of casuals or first timers, I blow them out of the water, too. I've noticed that I've been matched up with people around my N7 rank lately (660), so the quality of players I've had on my team has greatly improved. Maybe N7 rank is indeed more than just epeen.
preacher, i was able to do a silver match in around 15 minutes or so with your wife. the only issue is i never saw the 'operation mastiff' splash screen upon entering multiplayer - and this is after making sure ME3 is up to date and restarting origin TWICE.
so here's hoping it counts.

I'm having the same problem on Origin: no Mastiff splashscreen.

I'm not sure what their levels where since I joined at wave 2. my n7 is only 40something so maybe there where some other lowbies... we had a vorcha and a kroguard though so I didn't think it was a matter of levels.
Also, just did a gold to get some cash to try to finish off my starting weapons... that was a skin of our teeth win. glad i switched my adept to drell. those grenades are a godsend. had the hacking objective in that stair corridor. 4 primes coming in. 3 grenades down the hole. final score was two of them at 100k, me at 70k and our 4th at 15k... not sure how that happened.
I had been pulling about 50k on golds on a human adept before so I'm inclined to think grenades are the dealbreaker.
Ya, they really buffed the hell out of grenades a bit back. I'm actually afraid of how strong they are now combined with the permanent grenade capacity upgrades.

8 lift grenades with Curly's asari vanguard
9 with almost any Soldier (but in particular, the Batarian variety)
9 arc grenades

Reave, cluster grenade and take full rank of class and fitness is how I do it.

One more try while waiting on the pizza...
I'll be on at 7pm pst... And I'll pipe this music to make sure we succeed.

Usually starts around 6pm pst I think.

I also just got free pizza from Pagliacci; I ordered, it showed up, and the dude was like, "You're a good customer, it's on us."
Fuck Yeah.

I was so freaking annoyed that I couldn't talk earlier. What's the point of co-op games if you can't laugh when the vorcha say something funny?
