yeah a lot of lockboxes have clothing in them. some are just one piece, like i got a pair of sunglasses from one. others are full outfits like the bruce lee jumpsuit i found.

Some of them are full outfits, and you can only wear them as full outfits. I forget the specific name of the option(something outfits), but it's the second category from the bottom on the clothing menu.
After your first date. The first one is located outside of the dojo.
Yesssssssssssssss!
A couple things.
They are 6 rounds, of progressively more dudes. You can have buffs going in and I recommend them because your health does not refill outside of facetime during each fight.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Yeah, I know about the preset outfits, but it seems like a couple of times I've opened a box and found just a T-shirt or something and then it doesn't show up.
I definitely need to try getting some buffs going in to the fight club, I have not beaten the first one yet - got to round 5 of 6 on my first try but those big brawler guys are kind of irritating, especially when you're worn down.
Yeah the fat guys are the hardest part. The last club you go into when you get to round 6 its like 4 of them with ten other dudes sprinkled in.
The best way I've found to fight them is to wait for a counter pop some shots off and then reposition. Also in some of the clubs you can abuse the enviroment to at least get some of the guys one on one.
Weapons in meele is where I get really tagged, because even the weakest mook can fuck you up if they come at you with a knife, AND they can't be grappled while they have it out.

So I finished this. I did all favors and got all the collectables. Took me 24 hours of playtime.
I did skip almost all the races and didn't quite finish the money collection cell phone thing, but I may go back and finish those.
Whoever said 20 hours for a play through wasn't all that far off.
All of this said, I absolutely loved the game. I can't remember the last time an open world game like this got me wrapped up in the story and characters this much.
Well worth the money and time.
Also: can I just say how blown away at how polished this game is? It felt like every time I was about to get annoyed at a mechanic it turned out I was just coming at it wrong. All the collectables are on your main map once you've passed em once, so just doing missions you basically see everything and can go back at your leisure, the dude who delivers your car can have a set car he brings you, even the fucking credits have a fast forward button.

The unlockable melee move where you can flip over the back of an enemy you're locked onto is really helpful for taking out the fat grapple dudes.
Barring that, I've been making them priority targets and just wailing on them with heavy attacks, using interrupts when other dudes attack me.

guys, how do you get to the Martial Arts/fight club thing in Central? It looks like it's either behind some buildings or on some balconies or something but I can't find a way to it.

There is an useable door on the street, on the map you can see a greyed out thing that represents the staircase, its near there. Just try all the doorways around the greyed out entrance things.
I just got a text from her saying that she needs my help, but I can't call her. What's up with that?
Story mission.
And Frei there is a door to the right of the mission that you can open that lead up to the roof. If you look at the map the access point is to the right of the club.

I'm really at a loss as to why she was hurt you banged someone else, and why you cared she was banging someone else? I mean when you meet her she's like a karoake prostitute and you're a fucking gangster!
Yeah this made no sense and came out of nowhere.
Another thing that didn't feel right.. gangsters singing karaoke. During the forced karaoke missions I sat at my computer feeling nothing but shame. Why is a triad badass serenading tourists and hookers with 80's pop songs? That felt sillier than anything I did in Saints Row 3.

No that totally made sense. Like in the original Infernal Affairs there is a serious discussion about AV equipment. Chinese love them some karoake. Like lets not forget in Hard Boiled Tequila is a Clarinet player and the code the cop uses in the movie is musical.

Also, I was wondering what would make my character look like more of a douchebag than an Ed Hardy hoodie, camo pants, and big gold-framed sunglasses, and the opportunity to belt out an Air Supply song in order to seduce the karaoke hostess really helped out with that.
I just remember a part where I was running around in my boxers because I bought a new watch and was previously wearing a preset so all I had on after was just the watch. So I found another clothing shop and bought a horrible hello kitty rip off shirt and some jeans with no shoes. And then I took out some drug dealers, I'm sure that was super embarrasing for them.

The over-the-top brutality when I chase down some petty thief for swiping some cash from me is hysterical. I'll chase the guy a few blocks and up some rooftops, he runs to his buddies and I respond by just heaving each one over the railing and down 2 stories to their death.
Seriously you get more money running over parking meters. I like how its always a honey trap type snatch and grab, why don't you go back and punch the chick in the face? I mean she sets you up to start!

Alright, first martial arts club beaten, Chen Zhen outfit acquired. I swear when you put it on he does a little Bruce Lee footwork pose. To celebrate this achievement I bought myself a car and a few other articles of clothing. I have never been this into playing dolls with my character in a game before. Maybe Mafia II, but the options in that game were fairly limited.
I dunno tight spaces, and lots of enemy density, plus you can just get unlucky and get chain beat on. That and when I did them I had a really low triad level/overall health and like 2 skills.

Yeah a missed counter here or an ill-timed strike there and before you know it a grappler is pushing your shit in pretty hard.

Seriously, how do ya replay missions? :P
Also, what does doing a fight club earn you, aside from bonus Face Points?

Grapplers are the worst, like if you miss the y on their back body drop that hurts, AND the follow it up with a stomp.
I don't think there is a way to redo story missions. And fight clubs earn cash and face points and set clothing items.

Yeah that one threw me too. There is also a drug bust in a sewer pipe where the marker indicates way way below where the actual bust is.

A little Metal Gear exclamation point just visibly went off over my head with the sound fx and everything.
