I'm kind of running into a wall in act 3 though. I even tried the crit build yesterday before it was apparently removed, and apart from being boring it also seemed to be incapable of handling a molten ranged pack of mobs.
Not sure how to proceed apart from farming a bit more and building up vit/res/armor while keeping dps at around at least 30k.
Yea, I don't even dare play act 3 too far, as the soul rippers will cause much rage. Not to mention heralds of pestilence and phase beasts.. Farming act 2 and possibly early act 3 I think
edit: everything stomps all over act 1, though I imagine melees will still need way better gear than ranged.
I'm currently hovering around 25-30k health, and unbuffed 3.2k armor and bit over 500 resists (with glass cannon though). I'm aiming for more vitality and armor, if I can find decent pieces.
How much vit do you have? I'm trying to find a balance between vit and res, and either I have low vit (<20k) which renders Force Armor useless or I have low res (<500) and I get destroyed by ranged packs.
And, yeah, it really is impossible to find gear with int/vit/res for less than a million.
Early act 3 is rather annoying, I keep getting stuff like teleporter/fire chains on naturally fast mobs that chase me back to spawnpoint.
I can freely admit I have not been putting a ton of time into it though, even though I kinda enjoy inferno I have a metric ton of coursework to do these last few weeks. Will be interesting to see what has changed once I have time to burn on the game again.
I've tested it a bunch in Hell and I don't see the cooldown clock speeding up at all when I see a bunch of yellow numbers.
Between that and Force Armor's reliance on enemy stats, it's like they're trying to tell me I can't solo Inferno without dying a million times.
So the plan is to form a tight group, but all my friends are either still in nightmare/hell or they're instakilled by zombies in Act 1. Lovely.
Critical Mass does still work. Try it with Meteor, that spell still has some very good interaction with the passive. I tagged you in a post that I made about my build in SE++. You were interested in a critical mass meteor build, right?
Have any Wizards soloed Belial in Inferno? I'm so stuck on him. I can't beat him even in his second phase. I can only imagine the third phase being a long, tedious dance that will slaughter me with one mistake. Does he have an enrage? Should I be using that blizzard-venom hydra thing I've heard about?

Yeah, done that. I think I used Venom Hydra + Arcane Orb (Tap the Source ofc) for the fight. Other stuff was Teleport with Fracture (and Illusionist), Diamond Skin, Force Armor and something. I think it was Frost Nova.
Anyway, just have to kite the nagas around during the second phase so Hydra melts either them or the boss. It's best to try and use one cooldown at a time, like using Diamond Skin for running past the nagas, then teleporting over them etc. Basic stuff.
The third phase isn't that long with Venom Hydra, as the boss is stationary and Hydra will stack huge damage. The barrage attack is annoying, as it can easily oneshot, while the melee strikes and breath don't do that much damage and are easier to avoid. Just use cooldowns to cover mistakes (but don't try to use Diamond Skin against the barrage, I know it didn't work for me). Just teleport away if you get cornered.
Also, he doesn't have any enrage timer.

I wish it was possible to lock the skill bar, I was on phone and accidentally dragged a skill off the bar while killing some elites, and lost nephalem stacks because of that
Just spent today leapfrogging through Act 2 Inferno with a demon hunter friend, managed to kill all of... two champion packs? Maybe three. Just Belial left to go but we're leaving that til we're less burnt out, haha.
And speaking of error 3007, is there anything I can do to prevent it? I'm getting disconnected all the fucking time.
I tried praying, didn't work. Not really playing it much more this morning after being unable to finish even a single questline as I get disconnected every time.

Ah, thanks. I didn't notice your post. Not one signature spell. Huh. Can you regain AP reliably considering Meteor only hits once and has about 1/4 odds to critical?
No Glass Cannon even, but I imagine Critical Mass, Evocation and Astral Presence are more important to stay alive. Time to look for Arcane on crit gear!

Well, I was more referring to the multiple harpoon attack that's not as easy to avoid.
You're right though. I think people are still in the mindset of D2 where you can mindlessly hold down a button and watch things die, instead of looking for patterns. My WD friend for example keeps throwing fire bombs and then gets one-shot by a random ranged attack. Plus, they can't easily avoid the fire which takes like a second to drain half your health. I'm no WD expert, but I think they have it the hardest in Inferno because of their lack of good defensive skills.

As wizard/DH we could kill most champ packs, only skipped a few. Belial was a huge pain though, and I ended up having to go some kinda blizzard/frost nova build just to kite during the second phase. Me barely doing any damage wasn't an issue since DHs can do absurd amounts.

I can't wait for higher difficulties. I'm trudging through act 3 now on Normal still, and it's kind of boring me to death. I took a 2 day break because there's no challenge to it at all at the moment. I'm hoping Act 4 ratchets up the difficulty a bit. My demon hunter currently just walks into each room, throws 3 sets of double chakras, and kills everything.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
So, had my wake up call today and had my account hacked.. Thought I'd be safe, and was dumb. Definitely don't join public games in the higher difficulties because I did out of boredom last night, and this morning when I get home from work my account is almost entirely looted. I saw some really suspicious activity with a lot of quick logins and outs... Bleh. My fault, I thought about gettinmg the authenticator but I couldn't update my phone because of my computer swap for Diablo... Fun. Gonna take a break for the next few days until (hopefully) Blizzard will be able to undo some of the damage.

Joining public games doesn't have anything to do with getting hacked afaik.
Joining public games is not an issue, presumably bruteforcing is. Since blizzards password system is ass the authenticator is really the only way to be sure.
Kind of crazy, a few days ago I could make bank selling 600-700 dps weapons on the AH. Now they're salvaging trash. Everyone's getting sophisticated very quickly!
@TwitchTV, @Youtube: master-level zerg ladder/customs, commentary, and random miscellany.
Yea, obviously the fact that the password can be brute forced via the client is the major issue, and as far as public games go, I agree that they should be safe, especially with the additional security measures, but I saw suspicious activity when I was in the game right before I quit, and I'm fairly sure the account names I saw tied to those characters are linked to the accounts that were the first party looters... I mean, I just hope Blizzard has enough control over their servers to be able to trace/shut down these sorta ploys since that'd be the strongest deterrent and that's the main reason I'm hypothesizing that's how my information was gained. I just wanna help best to prevent others from experiencing the same. I also am pretty sure I figured out who in my recent play list gained all my items, just from educated guesses with login times, and friends list adds (since all, but a handful of people I've added from here are real IDs and what not.. My friends list is pretty trim, atm since I don't really need to friend people for SC2..) And they have grossly inappropriate names, so it's obvious they're just shills and it'll take some serious work tracking down the real scumbags account(s).. But meh, time to take a break.
Anyway, yea, I definitely wish I had added the authenticator before I got hacked, but a learning experience I won't be forgetting. Going to sit down and set up the authenticator before i get to playing again.

Well Spirit Walk should be all that a WD requires to avoid anything. Some WD spell animations contributes to annoying issues though, such as zombie bears not instantly coming out of the ground.
time to earn some money when commodities are back up then. Have a farily large amount of them and nothing to craft.
Seen a grand total of one pattern in all my inferno grinding, the next step of topazes after the one you learn upon getting shen to level 10.
100k per combine, hilarious.
The Jailer dropped Exalted Dread Shield for me twice, seems reasonably common as it's going for 10k on the AH. Bought a couple of weapon recipes but I think daggers have lower base dps than other weapons as I've not managed to make a decent one (though at 134k a craft, it's not like I've tried particularly hard either).
I'm totally calling the expansion story, as it'll star
Covetus Shen and his misadventures with whatever stone he was talking about
Pfft, they already laid out what the expansion will be right in the game.
Prime Evils defeated... now the Thieves guild is finally coming after you!
Another stupid and pointless part of the game. Why make players wait for loot from the most inconsequential and random part of the game? STOP TALKING NPCS.
Crafting feels like something to do later on, it can potentially make some insanely powerful things, but is really expensive and random.
Gem combines are just utterly insane, several million gold and 1.5k tomes of secrets for ONE of the highest tier gem, with 20 or so more stats than the one that drops.
Yeah, app and physical are both fine. As far as I know, but I got my wow account hacked long ago, and my password isn't *that* good. But the Authenticator seems to get the trick done. So stands to reason it would happen again otherwise.
I have no idea what the dial-in actually does, but apparently it doesn't work with diablo or SC2.
I wish the game saved your progress better. There are some checkpoint spots that are very awkward considering that we're at the mercy of some server a million miles away.

Well, you can replace Magic Weapon or Frost Nova with a signature spell. I find that I don't have enough time to cast anything but meteor, diamond skin and frost nova on a cast time/animation basis alone. I've always wanted to replace Frost Nova with Wave of Force but the cast animations are just worlds apart and you tend to get torn to pieces. Plus, it costs arcane power whereas frost nova does not.
The burn damage from meteor gives arcane power on critical, so it's not just one hit. Or so I think. If I'm landing meteors, I don't usually need to worry about arcane power so much.
I do want more damage in the build... Inferno is a slow process.
He's using Vision Quest along with that spirit walk rune that increases your mana regen to just be able to spam zombie bears ridiculously quickly. Big bad voodoo also helps with that.
And the 15-second gargantuan, but I don't think that's really doing the legwork.
Act 1 Inferno, VANQUISHED! I had to re-spec for full-on DPS, since I typically don't output much as a tank-Monk, and some of the guys I was with were lacking a bit in gear. We wiped a few times, trying to get him down before the whole floor caught on fire. Once we all went balls-out DPS, we took him out with plenty of time to spare.

Try joining general chat as soon as you log in. It sounds ridiculous, but it somehow stops me from DCing every 5 minutes.

The main thing about Butcher is making sure you have the 7k dps necessary to kill him before enrage timer.

On the EU AH it's 900g per essence, 900g per tome and 1300-1800g per tear.

Because Blizzard says so? :rotate:
At least as far as I've heard people say.
I'm assuming the App version is fine though?

you are horrible

I don't even take noticeable damage from it anymore. o.o

That's the spirit!
Does anyone know the build?
If that's real, wtf. How high is that DPS? Millions per second?

That's a touch exaggerated, but I am on the butcher (who has an enrage timer btw) in Inferno.
