Urrrmmmm. It is almost tempting to reverse over our spare parts containers allies at this point, but at least the radar is clear once the hordes are dealt with. Right? Right?

Are we still able to launch missiles, or is that off limits until we can get it repaired? I wasn't sure if we had multiple missile bays or just the one that's damaged.

  • The EnderThe Ender Registered User regular
You can still fire missiles, you're just limited to shooting 3 at a time instead of 4.

Yes please! I had totally forgotten about that.
Also didn't expect the slammies to leave debris.

Also @see317 how ro you know that those units are hordlings?

Somewhat reluctant to throw missiles etc at stuff we don't have a solid reading on. At this point I am just hoping that the bus is packed with civilians.

I'm targeting the "H's" on the map, I thought they had been identified as hordlings. Since each H represents a small tractor horde consisting of up to 6 tractors, so our penetrators aren't an ideal weapon.
I don't think the missiles have a minimum range, so we should be able to target them with the multi-warhead missile, then clean up the rest with our street sweepers.

The "H's" are tractor wreckage I believe, seeing as they are not lit up in red, they are at least disabled.

That makes a lot of sense. I suppose pounding scrap metal into smaller bits of scrap probably isn't the best use of resources.
I'll go change my vote to holding fire and licking our wounds in peace unless Ender specifies that there are still hostiles.

Roughly how hazardous would driving through the uranium be? More/Less than the crew casualty risk? I'm starting to wonder if it might be better to just save up some juice and boost through the lake in 1 turn.

Er, I think we need to reverse a space to allow our security teams space to clean up the uranium. Isn't that why they died last time?

Also, I forget what command and tactical teams do....

Your tank is operated by a human crew (which is tragically predisposed to being dismembered by shrapnel, incinerated by fire, crushed by collapsing bulkheads, etc). Security teams can combat intruders or be dispatched on salvaging missions, command teams perform most of the tank's general functions (forging materials into equipment, moving down the road, using any special aspects of the tank, etc), technical teams generate power for the tank, conduct repairs and can be dispatched alongside security teams on salvaging missions to extract special resources, and tactical teams operate the tank's weapons.
In addition, we've seen the tactical teams performing an infiltration on another tank. Presumably they'll also protect us in the event we're infiltrated.

I'd like to know what we can do with the inactive reserves. Obviously this is overflow from command and tactical, but can we retrain them to a more useful profession? Or do we have to wait until we lose someone from those teams to pull our reserves out?

Eh, sounds good. Also having a bit more space between us and those unidentified boogies sounds like a plan.

You would be less likely to damage your treads than you would be to lose security teams.
Er, I think we need to reverse a space to allow our security teams space to clean up the uranium. Isn't that why they died last time?

No, the security teams died last time because they failed a roll to see if they would clean-up the material without being killed.

Command Teams represent a cap on the number of spaces you may move in a turn, how many communications channels you can open in a turn and how many items you can craft in a turn.

Tactical Teams cap the number of weapons you can fire in a turn.

You do not need to move backwards to clean-up the uranium. I'd actually prefer not to allow backwards movement for the main tank in this game, otherwise I'd have to keep track of what you've already passed.

EDIT: Actually, if you did want to move back to the intersection this turn, you could swap positions with the Rosenberg-Class tanks.

You guys need to stop having such reasonable plans. There is nothing to argue about.

Anyway, will our new friends be ok going over the slag?

  • wiltingwilting I had fun once and it was awful Registered User regular
    edited July 2012
I see no reason to rush over the slag. We've got damage to repair, we need to access Steiner Petroleum, the slag itself is useful, we are damaged enough as it is, we don't know what those bogies are on the side and the civilian transport behind us can give replacements.
