How can you assign a tangible reward to people whose pawns helped you kill about six lizardmen then take down a cyclops and about four bandit camps? Besides gratitude, my only available thing I can give up is some crummy herbs and that seems like rather low recognition for that level of service.
I'm starting to think playing some sort of ranged class for my character is the way to go. Would keep me out of the direct line of fire and free me up to revive anyone who falls. If they die it's no big deal, if I die it's game over- replay the last half hour you did including that cyclops fight that took 15 minutes.
Any sorts of general gameplay tips for just starting out? I kind of flailed away at the ogre you fight near the beginning, pretty much lucked out in that all the guys there killed it before it murdered me.
The rest of the time I spent chasing birds and rabbits.
What vocation are you and your pawn?
I'm a fighter and Gordon is a strider. I also still have that starting mage guy with me, but since he doesn't level I guess I should swap him out soon.
Aistan, go refresh Gordon at the inn...you have a bunch of new equipment!
I just did Bluemoon too, with someones level 11 pawn from here. Had to restart the fight cause I killed it before opening the gates and the rest glitched out

Hah, he looks like a serial killer, or an executioner. That's fantastic, thank you.
Wooo credits and it seems I was given a new bow and daggers that are better than the dragon forged ones I had equipped. At least my main pawn can have the old daggers.

I went through the exact line of logic regarding death, chose warrior and proceeded to hurl myself bodily at every single enemy in the game. :P
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
Malestrom is the most potent stun spell in the game. You want it cast often
That said the unfortunate side effect of not being able to move inside it for fear of cliffs is a pain.
That also said, it's useless on particular large enemies. My resident Sorc seems to love casting it when I'm fighting a Cyclops, and it doesn't seem to do a lick of damage. But there it is, filling up my screen as I'm climbing all over said Cyclops trying to beat the helmet off his head.

The longer you use that pawn, the more Rift Crystals the owner will get, also any enemy knowledge and quest knowledge you gain, will pass to your rented pawn (and your own ofcourse)
Regarding the class choices, I cant really fill in, as I've only played melee characters so far, but Warriors can take a ton of damage at the very least (with decent gear)
I dont really worry about dying anymore.
Each equipment-slot allows an additional gift, but of course that's limited to equipment.

Duke's Wife SPOILERS/QUESTION:
People mentioned if you do the duke's wife (quest) guards will chase you out of the Duke's area, correct? So If I intended to do it would it make most sense to save it until I've done most the quests in the Duke's mansion? Can you still do the quests there after banging his wife? Thanks!

Literally nothing happens as a result of that. Even though the Duke finds you in his girl's room after dark and throws you in jail, once you get out he has instant amnesia about the whole thing. It has zero effect on anything.

Do the dukes wife quest as soon as possible, if you miss it you wont get another chance.
Everyone, including the Duke himself will pretend nothing never happened after doing the quest.

Question for the resident Warrior experts like Morninglord: How hard is a temporary shift going to hurt my stamina gain? I'm thinking that I may eventually settle on Assassin (yeah, right), and I don't want to be running out of steam too quickly while scaling big fellas. Now, my stamina isn't exactly bad right now, since I've spent ample time as a Strider and Ranger. I've also done Assassin briefly, and spent some time as a Magic Archer. I'm close to maxing vocation on a Fighter, so it's on to the next thing. Warrior just looks some damn fun, and the passive skills seem excellent. I just don't have room in my passives to use the stamina boosts right now.
Still missing my longer range attacks, but I'm adapting. Harpies continue to annoy, even with Heavenward Lash. Could be my aim just sucks though.

Hmmm I don't seem to even think about my stamina as a warrior much. I haven't done any vocation leveling with stamina in mind but I do have both the augment for 100 extra stamina and the the augment that counts you as one weight class lower at all times. This makes the stamina refill faster and go down slower when sprinting around. Also climbing on stuff isn't really much of a thing for warriors I do not believe. I just stab them to death with my GIANT SWORD.
Am I landing in the wrong cell, or something? One cell has a Skeleton Key. Not the one I was in. What happens if I can't afford a bribe?
And wow, that guard is terrible at his job. What a goddamn slacker. Edit: I'm sorry. Apparently there's somethng wrong with him. Or he's just above it all. Dousing him in oil doesn't seem to bother him at all.
Nor beating him up. Do I have that much status in Gran Soren already?
Edit: Totally judo'd a snake with a mid-air grab / wall throw.
Well, if you're not even thinking of Stamina, I guess that's a good thing! I suppose it would be useful to have some pawns keep the pressure on for the bigger wind up swings; I hate being interrupted by a bunch of bandit pricks. I'll leave the climbing to the Striders for now.
I haven't had a chance to check yet, but how effective is the Teeth of Gold two-hander? I have no idea where I picked it up, but there it sits in my inventory.

I always make at least one skeleton key to keep with me at all times. I tend to get in trouble testing all of my new skills in town. Stupid passersby.
If you don't have enough money, he'll just take what you've got. The first time I was thrown in the clink, I only had around $1500. The bastard's happy, as long as he laces his pockets, and makes you poor. I wish I could tell the Duke how corrupt his guards are.

The gold weapons are not very good and weigh a lot more than their non-gold counterparts, though I remember picking it up long before I could buy better 2-handers so I dunno

Nope, the portcrystal is still there when the next quest takes you there.
And if you can kill the Griffin that fast before NG+, then you've been grinding too much

Boy am i glad i put that portcrystal there. Didn't expect to have to go back to bluemoon tower so quickly.
Yeah I'm kind of overlevelled. I delayed meeting the duke until about level 40 just because I was doing every single noticeboard quest before moving on.
Setting out from GS now with the sole intention of killing that Drake I ran into about 10 levels ago. Should definitely be able to kill it now and my pawn sorc is loaded up with ice, thunder and flasks of water.

Ah, makes sense.
When undead pop up behind you (close to the camera) while you're running, they look scarier. On the leah, it reminds me of Ocarina of Time.

Has anyone tried dragon forging any gold weapons? I'm really dang curious about some of the more seemingly underwhelming armor and weapons, and how they stack up when dragon forged. I think that may be a project for me on Friday...

So you mean I wasn't supposed to kill the griffin at the same spot I placed the bait? :P
After finishing the main plot last night I checked the Cassardis board and picked up an escort mission to take the innkeeper to Shadow Fort. Was going just fine until I ran unto that damn drake in the dark. Guess I won't be sleeping in Cassardis for a bit.

Also regarding the Wyrmkings Ring, according to the wiki -
Giving Aldous the counterfeit ring prevent you from being able to aquire the Paladin's Mantle later on in the game."
So the fake one is supposed to have the magic properties of the original? Anyone checked up on this?
