How do I do a stage transition?
Back + Heavy with your opponent near the edge of the screen (side can vary with stage)

How do I initiate a Clash?
After you've been taken down to your second health bar, press Forward + R2 (or RT) as you are being struck by your opponent. When done correctly, this will initiate a wager, allowing you to spend super meter to either do damage or regain health.

Does it control like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter?
Both actually. You block by holding Back, and in the final game you will be able to choose between MK-style tap inputs or SF-style roll-inputs.

What does the free iOS game unlock in the console version?
Artwork for your fightcard, but more importantly four costumes:

I don't get the excitement (but I can't see the trailer from work). How is this going to be better than MK vs DC? That had people going through buildings, in air combat, and DC characters. I enjoyed it, but I don't think it set the world on fire.

Well, it certainly can't be any worst than MK9. And MK9 was pretty awesome. Netherrealm also proved that they can do a really good story mode in their fighting games. It'll hit you once you are able to view this trailer, I'm sure.

Just watched the trailer and actually it still looks like an enhanced MKvsDC to me. However, I loved MK9 so assuming it's the same engine I'll probably end up picking it up at some point, just not a launch day must-buy for me.

Didn't see any X-ray stuff, just now. Unless you mean the enviromental stuff being a form of the X-ray attacks. I mean, I want to see Batman reaking ribs and stuff.

You'd have to heavily edit the xray function to still maintain a T rating - some of those were extremely brutal even if they were less gory than the fatalities. It would be nice if the environments are a big factor (I saw cars being thrown) - maybe without having to merge in the MK characters they can go over the top with destroying everything around you during a fight.

I bet that's what they are going to do. MK is about gore and injuries, DC is more about environmental destruction.

To further add to the list of wanted characters, I hope they put a more modern version of Aquaman in. Either the new Johns/Reis from the 2011 relaunch, or else the more classic Morrison JLA Aquaman.

I'd also like to see Mera (with her water constructs) and the Aqualad from the Young Justice cartoon.
