    he's not #1 but he's pretty goddamned popular. he's had 15+ top 100 tracks. he definitely has more tracks on the rap chart than anyone. both of his albums have hit number one on the overall charts (not just for rap). he's written for or been credited with being a featured performer for jamie foxx, mary j blige, alicia keys, nicki minaj, rihanna, lil wayne, and more.

    i know this forum is super white but he's definitely one of the premier figures in american music.

    i still don't quite understand his rapping style.

    it's talking and not saying anything creative or utilizing any rhymes right?

    i fucking hate him.

    Why not hate the fans that hand over their money to him? He is making the best of his dubious rapping skills, it's the fans that make it possible for him to do it.

    I hadn't really heard any of his music, so I just went on youtube for a listen.

    I'm not up on the celebrity news... is this a rapper that came from American Idol or was Drake a regular dude on Youtube that got signed for a deal for inexplicable reasons?

    He was on Degrassi and put out a bunch of mixtapes and gained popularity from that

    I can't tell if this is a joke or not. Sounds a little too on the nose to be true.
