find taxidermy of small/non-threatening animals weird

for some reason this is kind of cool

wonder if this leads to other things like actual bioships

    perhaps a giant squidmarine

I wonder if you can have a chess set made out of your skeleton.

I garuntee if you have the funds, you can in this world find a craftsman who will make a set of chess pieces from your bones, if such a thing can be done

Do you like my photos? The stupid things I say? The way I am alive? You can contribute to that staying the same through the following link

It's perfectly legal to have your body made into all kinds of things. There's that whole Body Worlds thing, and a pianist donated his skull to theatre to be used as Yorrick in Hamlet.

No the catcopter is not grotesque. It's just in poor taste.

Now the catjet is grotesque. Especially with it's placement of the engine exhaust.

I would argue against it being in poor taste. Oh, someone on the internet doesn't like it? Too bad. It wasn't their cat. It was helicopter guy's cat. His cat. He turned his own dead cat into a helicopter after it got run over by a car.

He was sad that his cat died, and then he wanted to do something fun to compensate.

So that's in poor taste? Whose taste? The only person whose opinion is relevant in this case is the opinion of the cat's owner, and he's the one who built the catcopter.

That argument is somewhat poor. Just because it's his cat doesn't mean the other people can't judge him for what he does to the corpse.

I don't think anyone is saying that this dude should be thrown in jail or whatever

just that personally speaking they find what he has done pretty awful

And people are perfectly within their rights to criticise others

I've described it as stupid, macabre, and grotesque, and it really is

You've not given us any decent reason why, though. Apart from saying that it's "undignified."

What's so dignified about being left to rot in the ground, in that case? Or set on fire and burned to ashes?

Some people have their dead pets stuffed. Is that wrong and undignified? What's so special about the act of putting rotors and a motor on something that makes it cross over into unacceptable territory?

how on earth do you describe why a cat helicopter is grotesque

it's a gut feeling, I look at it and it's deeply unpleasant

but it's the public spectacle thats bothering me, honestly

people stuffing their pets is something I find a little odd myself, but if it helps them remember a loved animal, I can find no fault in it

similarly, if this guy put rotors on his cat and flew it around for his own tribute for the cat, I'd find it odd

hell, I'd still find it creepy and horrible, but it was his cat

but what bugs me isn't entirely that, it's the nagging feeling that this is less a tribute for the cat and more an attention grab

the capatilization on the death of a loved animal for personal gain

    that's what I find distasteful

Well in that case you're just judging a guy based on assumptions, which isn't really super cool of you to do.

And you're also kind of going by the assumption that death is something that should be dealt with privately, which is fine for some people but again, not something you should expect everyone to feel the same way about.

Jokes aside, is this a thing that can be done? Like, even if you had them sculpted separately, is it legal to have a facility burn off your flesh and organs but leave the bones intact.

What is that process? Light cremation, what?

Nope. That's regular cremation. Your bones get ground up.

also he would need access to, I guess, a good amount of acid to burn your flesh away. I think bones would resist dissolving for a little while.
