And i got DOOM, Virtua Racing Deluxe, and Virtua Fighter with it.
Anything else that is worth getting for the 32X?
Also how the FUCK do you win on Virtua Racing Deluxe, the cars all scream off into the distance leaving me 9th every time and the slightest bend causes my car to violently spin in circles off the track, argh...
Some pics:
I like that the 32X version has stock cars, it's awesome.
I remember being the dogs nuts at Virtua Racing on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis (I still have the cart somewhere) so why do i suck so much on this version?
Pick up Star Wars Arcade, Tempo, Kolibri (if you can find it), Shadow Squadron (again, if you can find it).
Metal Head was annoying as shit and really ugly, but for some reason I felt it held some charm.
And as far as Virtua Racing Deluxe goes, use the stock car, start your turns from the outside and early, and make sure you pulse the d-pad (push, release, push, release, ... repeat). It'll take you a while to get the timing down, but it's so worth it to kick ass on the 32X exclusive tracks.
I had a 32x... only Virtua Racing and Virtua Fighter for it though..
I seem to remember VR being about taps on the D-Pad moreso than most racing games of that time... constantly tapping.... I did master it though but I can't remember how.
What was funny was the trade-in value back then when I got wise and got rid of it was $70 on VR alone. LOL
Ended up getting Herzog Zwei and a whole bunch of other stuff for it.
I'll say yet another nod to Star Wars Arcade. A friend of mine had a 32X, and I used to go over there and we'd play the two player mode for hours. So much fun. Plus it has grainy FMV of Admiral Ackbar! He yells commands at you in this little video window, it's a hoot.

Blackthorne was a very good 32X game. Definitely one of the best of the rather limited selection for the system. It's similar to the original Prince of Persia and Flashback, but you have a huge rifle and get to actually kill a lot of bad guys. You can also hide in the shadows to get past other guards, and traps. It's a good mix of puzzle platforming and action. It was also on SNES, but I haven't played that version so I don't know if there is any difference between the two.
T-Mek and Space Harrier were tough, but also fun. There was a decent dirtbike game as well, but the name escapes me at the moment. It probably wouldn't hold up as well as the others, though.
This thread makes me happy. Loved my 32X back in the day.
First of all, Shadow Squadron. Co-op? Yes, please. Same for Star Wars, which has been mentioned. Knuckles Chaotix was different and fun - what was that bee's name? I remember the music kicking some sort of ass.
I had some 3/4 top-down scrolling shooter... Mothership 2000, I think? That game was fun, but I remember it being hard (I was young).
Now that I think about it, the 32X was fantastic for co-op.

Yeah, that's right. Dunno about spelling, but yeah. Strange but interesting assortment of characters. I remember the gator being really into phat hip-hop beatz. Yeeaaah.

Zaxxon, perhaps?
Reading over this post makes me start to realize how misconceived the 32x was. The poor thing only had, like, 30 games it, and looking back on it there really weren't too many that were flat out bad. Lots of hidden gems on the 32x.

I have a 32x, but the only game I have for it at the moment is some golf game with a long-ass title, that I bought for two bucks just to make sure the thing worked.

Definately get Knuckles Chaotix, just cos it have Espio, and he's a badass.
Most of the other stuff that comes to mind is just better versions of MegaDrive stuff.

Man, I had that game with my 32X. It was brutal, but alot of fun. Definately recommend, if not just for playing a Hummingbird shooter game.
EDIT: Damn, the only one on eBay that you can buy is like $54. Shouldn't have sold the game.

This is exactly what I was going to mention. 2 player Star Wars runs on the Death Star was a blast.
I think if the man has bought a 32X, quality is not necessarily his thing.
Resident0: you are a hero.
Next up: Mega CD and Nighttrap! And that lightgun it had with the Toejam and Earl tomato firing game!
