I have a friend who in order to enlist he had to change his tattoo. Below is the design he will (probably) have it changed to. As of now his tattoo is still the old design (iron cross) and just to be safe (so he doesn't get a tattoo and denied again) he had it colored in with marker and is going to send it in to see if it clears so he doesn't get fucked. So the point is can anyone direct/help me/him touch up the tattoo (straighten up the lines? make it look more realistic?) in photoshop?
You may want to ask in the Artist Corner. Be sure to do so in the chat thread as they generally don't take kindly to a new thread asking for art.
It may be helpful if you have a picture of the original tattoo rather then the markered over one you've got here. Give the artist an idea what is already there that they can base the retouched one on. They may be able to turn it into something a lot more interesting then what he's got there.
Also, many of the people in the AC are proffesional artists (and many others want to be) so don't expect them to gleefully donate time and labor to help your buddy. Offer money (even if it's just 15-20 bucks) and you'll get a lot more interest.
If I'm reading it correctly, the last thread was to get ideas on what to turn the tattoo into. Disregarding the advice to go celtic knot or celtic cross, Marine Buddy has instead opted for a large black blotch with lots of points (maybe he's a klingon at heart?), and would like help cleaning the image up to see if it will pass muster with the military recruiters once he gets said blotch applied to his skin.
Also, I think I may ow Bwah? an apology for recomending posting in the AC. I forgot they can be rather abbrasive. I think recomending the cheesegrater may have been going a bit overboard though...
Personally, I'd see what could be done to turn it into a sword or something as the large black blotch, frankly looks like crap and straightening the edgess isn't going to help that much. The existing cross could work as a hilt with the triangle thingy pattern replicated to form a pattern on the handle while the blade extends down (possibly into?) his arm.
Maybe it's because I remember the old version, but that still looks like an iron cross to me. Just, you know, more pokey. Also, who is he sending this to? If it's a military recruiter, he may want to get any statements of "yes this is acceptable" in writing.

Librarians harbor a terrible secret. Find it.
