Nova won't be in the GOTG. Not at this point, anyway. They released the official roster a few weeks ago IIRC. It was Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon & Groot.

Are you talking about the Comic Con concept art? Because that's all that was - preproduction concept art that was created for the product pitch. There isn't even a complete script for Guardians of the Galaxy yet, so the roster is far from locked down. And even if Nova wasn't a team member, there is no reason to say the Nova Corps couldn't be part of the movie, or even fill the SHIELD in Space role.

    Okay.

Yeah the team is pretty much set in stone. People saying otherwise saw a blurb about a pilot and really want Carol danvers on a team she's never been involved with.

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

Guardians hasn't started preproduction in earnest yet; they could still change the roster quite easily. I mean, Thor comes out nine months before Gaudians and still hasn't even started filming yet.

Oh, I wanted to say I saw Thor finally over the weekend, and it was good, just not something I'd care to watch again if I had to choose. If it was on TV or something I wouldn't change the channel, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again. It didn't have as much fighting as I thought it would have which really bummed me out (compared to Captain America), and it felt a lot like Superman Returns where Natalie Portman took more of the spotlight than the character really deserved.

It was well acted by all and I liked how the Rainbow bridge worked and the Bifrost, but Volstagg could have been fatter. And the movie had a weird love of Dutch Angles.

  • Centipede DamascusCentipede Damascus Registered User regular
I read an interview with Kenneth Branagh and he said he used a lot of dutch angles because he thought it made the movie look more like a comic book/

I thought the brawl with the Frost Giants was pretty darn good, but the fight at the end with the Destroyer was less good.

I thought the Destroyer fight was a non-event. It was over before it even began. One of the things I didn't like about that movie (though I enjoyed it overall).

I definitely thought the action scenes were the weakest part of Thor - even the Frost Giant fight, which was the best, wasn't put together all that well. It'll be interesting to see how the new director changes things up - the fight scenes on Game of Thrones have been really hit and miss, and I'm not sure which ones happened in episodes he directed.

If anything, dude needs to rent Hellboy 2 and take a look at how you put together some great fights between a powerhouse demigod and dark elves.

Variety: 'Thor' hammers Akinnuoye-Agbaje into villain role
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast of Marvel's "Thor: The Dark World" as one of the lead villains, playing the dual roles of Algrim the Strong and Kurse.

In the comic books, Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves, who is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor. After he's betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse, who is twice as a strong as Thor.

Did any of you guys have the iso-8 problem that started yesterday? I was hoping to try and get emma unlocked with the last bits I got from gifts but I guess there was some sort of glitch so they've extended the expiry or something?

None ideally. I like him and all but I think he's overexposed and definitely not good for the role( we all know people want him to be Starlord).

More importantly - Who will play Ronan the accuser as he comically tries to catch our heroes but is constantly held up by space hijinks

I don't really think Fillion should play Star-Lord but the guy sure isn't overexposed

He has been starring in Castle since 2009, and his last film role was Super in 2011.

Dude is just popular on the internet.

I would be ok with Fillon for Star-Lord but if he's supposed to be the lead of the film that's probably unlikely

Starlord is pretty similar to Malcom Reynolds, as far as I've seen, so I don't see why he'd be bad for the role.

Also, he really isn't overexposed; the internet just fan-casts him in everything.

Chris Evan's wasn't in Cap shape a few years prior to being cast either but a personal trainer and a diet/exercise regime does wonders. Luckily Starlord isn't a super buff character, so Fillion would just need together into decent shape rather than bulk the hell up.

  • BalefuegoBalefuego Registered User regular
Well the Star-Lord as appears in Conquest is washed up, so I still think that fits

I just think they will want a bigger name
