Whirlpool washer not going into final spin

So for some reason or another, my washing machine is not working right. Its a whirlpool (don't know exact model number) top loader. basically it won't start the final spin cycle to before the cycle ends and our clothes are left soaking wet. it doesn't have a problem with earlier spin cycles or if you turn the dial to spin and start it. it just won't do it during a wash cycle

i took the pump off and it and the pipes leading into and out of it are clear

also tried resetting it but it didn't do anything

    I assume it's a front load?
If that's the case it may have a motor that will do a low speed spin and a high speed spin. If it goes into one but not the other you more than likely have a problem with your control board or motor sensor (if it has one) or possibly the motor control. Without knowing the specific model I can only really give generalities.
