I suppose I should throw a question mark on the end of that, but "I don't think you understand the statement" doesn't read as well as, "I don't think you understand the question."
Oh wait, I got it:
I don't think you quite understand what I am going for.
I thought the movie was pretty damn fun. I'm just sad there was no skeleton-pirate vs. fish-pirate fight of some kind, even though it'd just be nasty and gimmicky.
well it still works, you stated something and they're providing you with examples that go against your statement
There's a specific right answer to this. I mean, there's only one right answer to this.
He throws out three and then he posts a trilogy that had concluded this month, and then disqualifies his answer, not because it was too recent, but because there could be a sequel.
It's just...I don't think he quite understood what I wanted.
If they do make Pirates 4, which they will almost certainly do, it'll have to be after The Lone Ranger, which is what the rumors are saying the Pirates crew is working on next.
I didn't even catch that they killed the Kraken, so for half of the movie I was wondering where it went. After going to Wikipedia and finding out (and clearing up a few details I managed to miss somehow), I was really disappointed. It made Davy Jones in the second movie. Of course, I see where they were coming from. A giant squid that can sink boats in a matter of seconds is kinda sorta a liability.
Also, I have two complaints: too much fanfare, and it didn't feel as playful as the others. Way too much "lawl serius"
I liked when the crazy voodoo woman turned into her full goddess-self and became completely incomprehensible.
Its like "hey, fuckers, its not like she wasn't hard enough to understand already."
That said I rather enjoyed the film, much more than the second one, but this might be due to the fact that I wasn't suffering from the stomach flu when I saw this one. Halfway through the second Pirates I was getting queasy and after racing home I peed out of my butthole for a good half-hour.

I agree that this one had the best soundtrack of them all. The first one really kind of sucked, it "borrowed" way too many themes and melodies. Just a couple of "borrows" from the top of my head, the raid on the town has the vampire hunters theme from Bram Stoker's Dracula, the main PotC theme is from The Gladiator soundtrack but I guess Badelt got permission from his master. Oh and the sad theme from The Lion King was used a lot too but I think that was in Dead Man's Chest, oh would you look at that I just checked and Hans Zimmer did the Lion King score, lame.
I enjoy Jack better as a character, but Barbossa is definitely the better pirate.
Geek, I have said this exact sentence to more than one of my friends
Get out of my head.
Jack is a great morally ambiguous flamboyant weirdo, but Barbossa is 100% piratey badass.
If I could pick one man to symbolize piracy?
Barbossa.
closely followed by Davy Jones, I mean yeah the dude is a sympathetic character, but he's still a cruel almost heartless bastard. Just like most pirates.

Edit: Not something that came out in the past three months.
I don't know if that really counts since the odds of there being a fourth one are kind of high

RAGE
Also, fanfuckingtastic soundtrack as always.
regarding the soundtrack, it is glorious
I liked the movie and all, but I don't think any scenes would be cut from a Pirates movie for being nonsensical.

I suppose that's my fault.
Zimmer has been getting a lot better lately
FUCK YES
IT IS FUCKING FANTASTIC
There needs to be a Pirates of the Carribean 4: Barbossa's Day Out
Also peanut
Really I'm happy with either one.
But the music really was very good, even if it is a bit silly to credit Zimmer with it.

Yeah, it was kinda obvious.
That was only for the first movie
i really cringed at that bit where he went 'they're h'ain't been a gath'rin' loik this in oyre loiftymes'
sounded like he was saying his lines through a mouthful of smashed teeth

Hello, british pirate?
I hope you die cold and alone
oh no you DI'nt
snap-snap-snap
He's always been good.
The Batman Begins soundtrack is still his best, IMO.
Actually, I'm listening to the Pirates 3 soundtrack right now. It is awesome. So far, "Up is Down" is my favorite stuff.
EDIT: OH YES THE ELECTRIC GUITAR STANDOFF JUST KICKED IN
But great soundtracks all of them none the less.
Including its own credits.

The soundtrack itself says:
Music Composed by Klaus Badelt
