It's not even a real hat though.
Does anyone think it's worth anything? I rarely play TF2 anymore, so if I could wrangle a sale game or something that would be cool.
If not I'll probably give it to the first person that asks nicely in the steam chat I guess.
I ended up scoring the Liquidators Lid (the new sniper hat) and it's really delightful. I still, however, haven't received my Robot Chicken code...which is annoying.
Unless you signed up before midnight, they're not going out till June 5th or something.

Damn, that's gotta suck, having to wait almost a year for a code.

You also have to sign up for at least one newsletter. I don't think they'll send it to you otherwise. You can change it back to none right after you get your code.
I got my robot chicken hat code earlier this morning but when I tried to redeem it the system told me it was a duplicate code. Anyone else having this problem?
edit: Nevermind. I got the hat even though the system gave me an error that it was a duplicate code.
Okay, apologies for being the FNG and coming in here and asking a question that has probably been asked a million times in the older versions of this thread, but:
I haven't played in a while and jumped in tonight and I have this dude bugging me, trying to trade for my vintage sandvich pretty hard.
Is he just "into collecting vintages" like he says, or does it have some intrinsic value in the trading market?

Yeah, some people are really interested in collecting vintages.
I had one fellow collecting every double digit of every vintage item who wanted a 77 vintage bonk I had. I found it novel so I even helped him refine his search parameters to help find such vintages more easily, but he never thanked me for that.

It's kind of a lot. You can craft any two items into scrap metal, and then three of those into reclaimed metal, and then three of those into refined metal.
So, as another fairly new guy to the scene, @Imperfect, something you have to get used to if you try to do any trading is how people don't really work in base 10. Almost everything is built off a Refined. Things higher than this are represented as such (Keys are "2.33" a lot of the time (I have no idea what they are this minute), or 2 Refined, 1 Reclaimed (which is 1/3 of a Refined). Things under a refined (3 reclaimed, 9 scrap total) are often referenced in ".XX". So 4 scrap is often written as ".44", and you could pay with a reclaimed and a scrap, or 4 scrap, and some people will even take 8 weapons.
Much over a key and you'll see prices in Keys + Refined, up to Bill's (a promo item from Left 4 Dead... 2, I think?) and Buds (Earbuds, misc item that was given to Mac users a long time back).
Long story short, be sure to at least glance at the Spreadsheet to get a feel for the value of your stuff (and the things you want) before you go trading. Nothing worse than finding out the thing you traded for a refined was worth like five keys, or the thing you spend five keys for was worth no more than a refined.

I don't want to have to buy two keys when I just want one.
Clearly I beat the house this way.
Still the best one yet.

Say's it's not even worth a full refined metal.

Yeah, I dug up a bunch of spreadsheets, but, uh...
I don't even know what a refined metal is or whatever.
I'm serious, I haven't played in a while. Like, release plus a couple months.
Yeah, I feel bad.

Can we make that happen?
And, for the first time in something like two years, a beta of trainwreck!

I recommend playing under the influence of alcohol.

It kills projectiles.
Like, say, stickies or rockets or grenades that are flying at your sentry.

Awhile ago, actually.
Sap the entrance and wait on top of it.
It evaporates projectiles!
Guard your stuff with it.
