So the sale for Avernum reminded me that I own Eschalon Books 1 and 2 and I've never beaten them. Hell, I've never even started Book 2 despite really like what I've played of the first one. So I've been playing through the first one and I've put about 4 hours into it and gotten much farther than I ever have before and it really is awesome. I hope I can tear through it and the sequel before the third game gets released. These games are huge and the devs seem to be taking their time so I shouldn't have a problem doing so, whoooooooooo
I've just been informed I once again have power to the half of our house containing the kitchen, main bathroom, parts of all the upstairs rooms and my whole room for some reason.
So when I get home I can once again turn on my computer and probably blow the main fuse again because I've just accepted that's how fickle this house is
Anyone has a solid info about when the summersales are going to start? I read about 15th of juli. Anyone has better information? I'm starting to think there is a possibility of no summersales this year, since previous years there was always solid information when it was coming.
There's never been official info on when a sale is coming. Valve has always tried to keep this sort of thing quiet. According to the Cubemen developer the sale starts sometime in mid-July. Also, SpaceDrake of Carpe Fulgur posted in this thread that (paraphrasing), "the sale is coming, have patience" possibly implying a later date for the sale than usual while confirming the existence of a sale. Very crafty.
Remember, Valve has also recently hired a psychologist. I'm sure he's getting some fascinating data on us from Valve changing the "traditional" (can you have a tradition after only two times?) starting period for the sale away from around the 4th of July. Welcome to the maze, fellow mice.

Say a prayer to the beast god and spill the blood of a lamb in tribute to the Newell. Your home will be sufficiently blessed.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust
Reminder of the above and also, does anyone have a copy of Half-Life 1 lying around they don't need? Girlfriend and I are wanting to play the co-op mod but she doesn't have it, and since so many copies floated around before, figured it couldn't hurt to check! I can offer you...Red Orchestra 2 gift passes? Love?

That article is not really saying that it's starting July 2nd. It says "in the days leading up to July 4th Valve puts on a sale." They're just going by the traditional plan. A lot of those dates are just suggested dates to fill in their calendar (if you look at a lot of them, they run longer, or start earlier). They're just guessing like everyone.

Just hours away. We should be talking about this. Some sweet Steamable deals to be had.
So, before I take the plunge and subscribe for a month to Champions Online, anyone have any words of warning?
I've played for about 3 and a half hours.. run through the tutorial zone once, but otherwise just fucked around in the character creator. Most of this time was before I found out that you earned more costume pieces, apparently, by earning achievements. Because after finishing the tutorial, I went back and found my selections of costume pieces had practically doubled, ha.
Origin for Dragon Age: Inquisition Shenanigans: Inksplat776
There's really no reason to think it'll start Monday.
Except for that it's the start of the business week and the last 2 summer sales have included the 4th of July.
Yeah but the last two summer sales started on the last Thursday in June, so clearly we're in a brave new world, and if the rumors from devs are true the sale will be mid-July. Like, maybe it'll start on Monday, but that's nothing more than a guess.

I got sucked into the hype for this when it came out and paid for a little while. It is fun for a bit.
My only words of wisdom is that Acrobatics is the most fun travel power by far. Backflips forever!

I like super jumping more, myself. Teleporting was also cool, it was kind of like flying but you'd turn invisible to others while doing it and then pop back out somewhere.
Ok, is there any way to make a save state or something similar in Abe's Oddysee? Getting through a difficult part only to die 2 screens later and start all over is getting a little infuriating.
I'm wondering how the hell did I manage to beat games like this 15 years ago. Probably because I wasn't OCD about doing everything perfectly, like saving all mudokons for instance.
Ok, time to collect all of this stuff in one post.
PM giveaways are as follows.
Ys Origin
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013
Penny Arcade's On On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 3
New Editions...(Feel free to update your PM conversation)
SpaceChem
Avernum Bundle
Krater
Enter for whatever you want, screw being guilty. Must be an active member of the PA forums. Must not already own the game. Must eat pancakes for breakfast tomorrow. (Pics of pancake eating via PM welcome)

I would advise playing it, without paying, for a while longer. I put in over 500 hours (somehow, fuck) with two free accounts. The free archetypes are good, and I had plenty of fun with the game. Unless you are already sure you want to be a hardcore serious player on there, I'm not sure that you need to be free form.

You don't. Basically, the only REAL advantage to a subscription is more costume options (Which you can buy in the C-store) and no money cap.

HI EVERYBODY!
Retaba and I are playing Spess Marines right now. Anyone want to do co-op with us? (Also open to last stand!)
If so, friend us on steam! Same names as here. If you're already our friend, then just send me a chat via steam and ill throw you an invite!
Just played a couple of games of DoW II Retribution Last Stand with @Maddoc and @IvanIssacs. I am severely underpowered and have no idea what is going on but I'm doing some cool shit. Charging through mooks was priceless. :^:

The Last Stand is easily one of the best parts of the DoW II series. I have 117 hours in that game total, most of it The Last Stand.
Its not all that complicated, I mean I still don't know a few things but overall, I think I did adequately. Shit, I revived the two of them in the same round so I must've been doing something right :P

Yeah it's easy enough to learn, where the challenge is is at the later waves when you really have to know the class and work together to clear it out. You get more experience on a char the higher the wave you've completed by the time you die, or if you successfully complete wave 20.
Before then, overcoming the odds you have, you might be tempted to think you have crafted an elite fighting force, honed in battle and possessed of righteous fury. When you reach it, don't say I didn't warn you.

Alright, Steam thread. It's been a while.
The Dawns of Wars: what do I want? Expansions? Do I just, like, get everything? It's a lot of things.

That will be handy for zombies later too. Nice one.
Wouldn't it be simpler to subscribe to the daily deals RSS feed? Assuming that one uses that sort of thing.

I admit, I would be surprised if the sale doesn't envelope the 4th in some way.
Plus Telltale games are very rarely on sale to begin with.

Is that sarcasm? Cause they ALWAYS go on sale. Like, complete catalog for 50% off during mega sales.
Posting this again.
Yeah, and they almost always get a daily deal during the big sales. I know Back to the Future and Sam and Max got some recently.

Whaaaa...? I guess during the sale they get 50% off, but I've never seen anything like 75% for Back to the Future on ubersale.

It was 60% off a while back, but I think that was its lowest point.

Space Marine is bought hard, obviously.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
