It's a shame you drop the thing when you charge, else the N7 Orbital Weapons Platform could launch and airdrop it.

So having Wave 10 be the pizza run on Rio and both pizzas are put at the FAAAAAAR side of the map in the crates and/or power area. Impossible.

Yeah. I will have to say as far as maps go this DLC has been the worse so far.

    Rio and London are terrible.

    Vancouver is fun though.

But...I just want more small maps like Glacier.

It seems like they just make the maps bigger and bigger.

Rio is fun. London isn't great.

Claustrophobic map is needed. All tunnels.

    Or, hey. Final Destination.

Rio would be fun if it was half the size it is currently.

As is, it makes everything take twice as long as it needs too.

I feel like female quarian engineer, with the latest buffs, is great against Reapers, ok against Cerberus, and kinda crappy against Geth. Maybe with the Acolyte she's finally got something to deal with shields adequately? Because the turret is a death dealer, and with just one person throwing out tech damage, it's easy to get tech bursts off with incinerate. Cryo blast is mainly useful for the armor weakening, but it does help to smash bosses down faster.

It's not a Geth Infiltrator, but it's not a flaming pile of dogcrap the way it used to be.

  • PLAPLA The process.Registered User regular
Yeah, but there's good sniping in that. And if you manage to draw all the attention to one side of the map, then run like the wind, things seem to leave you alone for a good while.

Actually...the Acolyte is quite hilarious against the Geth.

Since its basically Overload in a pistol.

But yeah, how I role with my QFE is Acotyle+Tempest w/ AP barrel.

Crossover weekend mission: Operation Metro. No matter what you pick as the enemy type, it will always default to all waves being Geth Rocket Troopers and Geth Hunters. And no matter what map you pick, it will default to the Battlefield 3 map...but only around the B flag.

If you're not familiar with the map, suffice it to say it's all about enclosed spaces (it's a subway station) and it typically devolves into shotguns and rocket and/or grenade launcher spam.

GPS or shotgun of choice, cloak 4 (damage), max proxy and hunter. All top evolutions on proxy except radius, all bottom on hunter except the last.* Passives to your taste, probably max for power damage and weapon damage (final +10%, or +15% with GPS) with the remaining 4 in fitness.

See enemies through walls, charge shotgun, cloak, fire proxy delivering area damage and +20% damage debuff, unleash GPS fireball, follow up with uncharged shots on near targets gaining cloak bonus, own face.
    *
-power recharge is nigh-irrelevant since cloak uses a proportional cooldown and if you just cloak and fire you'll have the minimum 3s, but if you think you'll use your full 5s cloak duration going for recharge instead of accuracy will save you a third of a second -- I can't remember whether accuracy really helps the GPS uncharged spread or not but most shotguns will benefit from it
-you'll fire proxy mine from cloak right before shooting which replaces proxy's cooldown with cloak's
-if you're using something other than the GPS you might want the +80 damage on proxy mine (+power damage) instead of +15% fire rate since that's useless with, say, the Claymore
-GPS ignores armor reduction and shield gate and the fireball can mailslot guardians half the time

I just cannot play gethfiltrator. Fell on wave 2 of Bronze ffs, as a Level 17, with just the two of us. Then I pull out an L6 salgineer and we do the same mission with ease. I'm clearly all about the powers. =[

Then I picked up the Vorcha Soldier. I can't say I played him ... skillfully? But it was fun. Ignore Carnage was the right move - y/n?

General consensus around here is that Carnage is good to take to 3 for most classes. It's useful against things you don't want to get close enough to for the flamer, and for knocking away Guardian shields. But you just don't get enough extra oomph with the higher evolutions to warrant giving up a 5 somewhere else.

This isn't really an issue anymore with the recent buff to flamer default range. Watch the world burn if you take the range extension evolution...

It takes some practice. Part of the problem is that Hunter Mode is incredibly busy, which makes it difficult to see where enemies and objectives are until you get used to it.

Give it a few games and you should get the hang of it.

The critical thing is that on more enclosed maps than Condor, you should see the enemy before they round the corner; you can blast a proximity mine timed to hit just as they round the corner and then finish them off with your weapon of choice, take cover just before enemies show up, and run around to flank opponents before they flank you. It's very much about using your situational awareness to make up for the half-strength shields and to smash the enemy down with your abilities and weapons.

Yeah, now that've gotten my QFE to 20 and gotten used to her, she's not that bad. I'm not topping the scoreboards, but she's a solid contributor and works well enough, even on Gold. Haven't tried Platinum.

Rank 6 Incinerate really needs to get fixed though.

Personally I'd dump carnage entirely. If you max it its comparable to a geth plasma SMG without any compensation like warp/tech explosions or damage debuff or radius, it travels too slow to be useful for fire explosions at range, only burns dudes for like two seconds, is too much of a hassle to set them up with flamer at close range and you could just be using vastly superior flamer in that time anyway. You're a short range class, so either get closer/wait for them to get closer or compensate with a weapon.

And second everything Orca said about gethfiltrator. Your biggest advantage is your situational awareness, which is complicated by the horrible overlay they designed for hunter mode.

I know running works, but that's unwieldy; did not know about attempted dodges. This will help immensely with reload cancelling on my krogan.

the vorcha soldier just seems pointless next to the sentinel

i have no idea what purpose carnage serves next to cluster grenades, as AoE spike damage is pretty much a perfect fit for a class that receives buffs on-kill

  • DragkoniasDragkonias That Guy Who Does Stuff You Know, There. Registered User regular
    Carnage triggers fire explosions.

Which aren't that hard to do if you have a decent cooldown. And really...Cluster grenades are nice on small maps but pretty inconsistent in where they land otherwise unless you're hitting a huge target.

    I like london!

Rio is okay, but the lack of solid places to kind of bunker up make it kind of a problem in pubs. Plus at least one of the hack locations is super brutal.

Vancouver is okay, but I don't particularly enjoy anything about it.

You know the map I realized I missed playing on? Ghost. I think ghost is still my favorite.

Starting to get the hang of being a Devastator. Staying mobile works for me; wasn't the victim of any embarrassing sync kills today. Still tempted to throw an adrenaline mod on every time I play him though. Threw one on a Drell Adept instead and reminded myself of what haste is.

Finally took the Fury out for a spin. I think that's my favorite among the N7's. She's just so much fun; a one man dubstep team racing from spawn point to spawn point exploding everything on her way. And I will never get tired of teleporting through walls, especially between levels on Glacier.

Scariest, most frustrating glitch ever: invincible Geth Hunter.

I'm playing GWG, the thing is murdering all of my teammates. I cloak, run outside, shoot a missile into the room, everything dies, we mop up a few more Rocket Troopers/Pyros.

Kai Leng: "I'm reading only one more enemy!"

It was the fucking Hunter, stuck in a wall outside. We still couldn't kill it. After five minutes of shooting bullets/powers at it to no effect (I even dropped a missile because I figured it was worth the 60k credits if I got another set of missiles in my next pack), I gave up and left the game.

There is a way for 3 people to recoup at least some of what is lost; if the host leaves, the wave resets and the other 3 can try again. Even if you fail, you still get the credits from waves 3 and 6, which is better than nothing. Often when the host leaves you'll find yourself alone, as people will reflexively quit as well. If you're the last man/woman standing, go hug some reapers/geth/cerberus and earn your credits that much more quickly. Or man/woman up and solo the wave like a boss. Y'know, whatever.

So I finally unlocked 5 of the classes, and I think I've given 3 of them a shot now. Really enjoy the N7 Adept and Soldier. The latter in particular is awesome. Despite lacking the missile, I still painted mine all black, named him War Machine, gave him a Revenant X and Piranha X and went to work.

    It is so much fun.

Just missing the Engineer at this point, which I'd really like to try, but at least my luck with classes has finally improved.

First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
  • WybornWyborn GET EQUIPPED Registered User regular
I'm missing the Paladin, the Slayer, and the Fury.

I badly want all of those classes.

Every single class right now looks like it works very, very well, though each of them has a different synergy (a team of all Paladins wouldn't make a lot of sense, since they seem to be there to facilitate murder for other characters)

Where are the ammo boxes in London? I got put in a London Platinum game, and it seemed fine (just got the Typhoon so you have some fun), but we were up on the upper floor and there was no ammo box I could find near there, and with Phantoms running around you don't want to leave your team.

I also got the Slayer, who I named Cereal. You just sword blast everything through walls, and if you can get another slayer or engineer to energy drain, you can just rake in credits on Gold games. The hand blast thing feels kind of pointless, and I have to ask, the charged melee attack where you teleport and sword slash, does it just cut anyone in the way of your dash, or do you have to time the distance right to get your target?

The ammo boxes are scattered around don't remember the specifics but it is usually one in ever corner and around the ramps going up to the top.

As for the Slayer, yeah, I didn't care much for the hand blast thing myself. I put 3 levels in to it just because but I could see you going without it.

As for his heavy melee, the move will track whatever you're locked on to(not sure about the max distance but I think its 5 meters). So just make sure you've got a red square around whatever you're trying to hit.

Balancing an enemy's health such that it's on fire and low enough for a half rank carnage to kill it and your teammates not to kill it along with its slow travel time at range and having enemies at hand to hit (smallest radius of the explosions, right?) or that at close range you could be using 450dps flamer and/or Reegar without focusing on one enemy while ignoring the crowd you want to explode...not worth the hassle, I think.

All weapon and power damage, all the time.

I like accuracy on Devastator Mode. Kill all the things.

It's the ultimate Soldier class. Does not worry about cooldowns, so carry whatever weapons please you. Heavy ones.

Fire rate tends to be better than magazine size on most weapons - though for somehting like the Reegar or the Harrier, magazine size might be better. Build your Devastator mode around the weapons you ultimately want to use.

On benches. One is really convenient, because it's right on cover. You don't have to stand up at all there.

Is this right? The +75 % Vs [defense] on the hand-blaster brings it up to the same level as Biotic Slash, not beyond? So the advantages are strictly the zero cooldown and the unlimited range?
Zero cooldown for two quick shots is respectable burst-damage, though.

    New Asari Vanguard

I think someone here already mentioned this but there'll be at least one more in order to release those weapon mods they couldn't include this time around. Beyond that I thought they said they'd keep releasing DLC so long as people keep playing. The Turians and Drell seem due for some additional characters.
