The 360 Ur did not feel that squishy this weekend; I heard the PS3 one went down like, well, something that goes down a fair bit. I did manage to dragon forge a pile of gear though.
The BBI fire drakes suck, takes so long to kill I just run past them anymore and ignore them.
@Bacon-BuTTy I can see your pawn in the rift, seems fine except you need to get rid of Guardian as her primary inclination. Just replace it with Utilitarian.

So I'm level 25 so far. Having a blast. Things have "clicked" somewhat and i'm really enjoying the game.
It's weird how low res and sort of ugly this game can look at times, because, within minutes I'm in a windy green area that looks great, before being attacked from above by a Griffin and everything suddenly looks amazing. And the lighting inside dungeons is awesome too.
Anyway - that Griffin. I've been attacked a couple of times but he's always gotten away. Is this the same Griffin?
Also my pawn has yet to be hired by anyone, which is a shame. Am I missing something? Is there anything I can do to make them more attractive/visible for hiring? What benefits am I missing out on if any?
Make sure you're set to online in the options, because it defaults to offline. If you tell us what type of pawn it it we can give you some advice on improving performance.

My pawn is a Mage. I wanted her to be purely a healing person with some support spells for damage and crowd control.
I don't even know if that's possible, but she's been very healy so far. Any advice appreciated.
And if it matters at all, maybe if someone could take a look? - I'm on 360 and my GT is Jekkers
@Bacon-BuTTy In addition to what others have said, I would still level your pawn up in the other vocations for some of the augments, like physical damage protection and sinew, and also for the hit points and physical defense. Plus it pays to be flexible as you can adjust your and your pawns vocation to suit certain situations and when you find a nice weapon or armor.
My 360 gt is oro dc and I will add you next time I log in.
Articulacy is good for support-Mage. Maybe Gravitas?
Edit: Right. Fuck it. Rook is coming with me to fight the Ur-dragon. And he'll live to tell the tale.
Edit: Damnit, I can't well leave Rorric with the lizards. I think I killed three bats with one punch, though. Is that even possible?
Edit: Brightwater Cove is weird. I don't think there's any way to actually step inside.
Edit: Woo! I'm only missing Siegfried, now.
Edit: I shall shadow the suspect, and I shall wear sunlight to blend into the night.
Edit: Pfft, Julien actually uses the wave-animation when Madeleine opens the door.
And Madeleine apparently sells most of the Periapts. Convenient. She's very rarely hard to find.
Having a support pawn is absolutely dreadful because every single fight you get into forces their scather/challenger inclinations up and I have to constantly go back and replace them with medicant/utilitarian. Such an awful system.

It gets easier later in the game. Once you can get the Neutralizing Elixir and a large amount of inclination potions.
Man, I really wish that hand to hand was a viable combat option. I want a Monk vocation, damn it! I even have a ring that increases hand to hand damage, but it's still completely worthless.
Wow, throwing the athleticism augment on your character and literally running through BBI can get you to Daimon in minutes with barely a dent in your stamina for level 3 cursed item farming that's guaranteed to respawn. On my last run, I only stopped to fight the big floaty eye of doom, and even then, you could probably just run by to the door.
I seem to be getting endless head gear at the moment, but for 10 minutes of running and 5 of fighting, I can't really complain.

I hate to pour salt, but monk was one of the originally intended classes. They cut it for time and resources.

Why not take the middle stratum shortcut? Even faster
If I could get the damn Griffin to spawn so I could get the Gloves of Might and find a ring that buffs Dagger skills, I'd love to give the grab-and-stab method of killing Daimon a try sometime.
I am pretty sure there aren't any Griffins in the postgame.
edit: internet says Hillfigure Knoll area I guess? I've never seen it.
Yep. That's what I keep trying. I have a port crystal there. I wait a day, teleport, kill everything nearby, no Griffin, rinse, repeat.
For five times now.

Step one.
Stop portcrystalling.
Step two.
Go to the keep from gransys gate.
Step three.
Cut through the woods to hillfigure knoll.
Step four.
Kill something and carry it's corpse. Watch the sky.
Step five.
When the griffin spawns about halfway from the keep to the knoll and flies overhead from the direction of gransys city towards the knoll throw the corpse in a clearing.
Step six
Kill griffin.
Step seven
Profit.

Is playing mage knight supposed to drop your frame rates into single digits? My typical approach is to drop a sigil, a couple cannons, and go to town. Every time I do that though I experience some nasty slowdown.
The griffon for the gloves quest should always be there, it attacks you and won't fly away because its a quest battle. I guess moving things into the post game screwed it up a bit. Good luck with a random spawn one, at least by post you should have enough stamina and damage to jump on him and not let go until its dead.

Yes.

What is that about?
Edit: Killed an ox. +74 exp. I think pawn gained 1777. No, next ox was clearly 1765.
Edit: Having trouble getting over a rooftop, I leapt with running start, landed on another roof, and promptly rolled off the edge. As good fortune had it, my face broke the fall. Life on the streets of Gran Soren must surely be interesting.

I was talking about that one. I spawned it this way. If you portcrystal you are probably missing the location in the world that triggers it to spawn.

Already having a Portcrystal where you want to go works pretty well, it seems. Still, placing one to summon the escort was fun. They fall so far behind, sometimes.
I've placed five now, in any case.

I think I still have enough left. Yeah, I should have one left over after the places I know I want.
Edit: I put one on the hill above Traveler's Rest, so I can jump down there, walk to the Blighted Manse, or sprint to the Healing Spring in a short time.

I'm also having trouble spawning it, tried four times now. I get to a point in the forest where Derp says: "I sense something near, perhaps a bird, or larger" but nothing shows up. Gonna try again later.

Ooh I like this. I'm going to move mine up from the camp.
So I checked out the demo last night. Holy fuck dem customization options. And accurate chimeras fuck yes.
I'm really tempted to pick this up, but I have a few questions first;
- How's the armor and weapon variety?
- Do they look good? The prologue guy looked pretty keen, with a cape and all.
- Do pawns ever shut up?
- And should I buy the updated release or one of the original copies?
- How's the armor and weapon variety?
Actual number of armor and weapons? Quite a lot. And they're all visually different from one another.
- Do they look good? The prologue guy looked pretty keen, with a cape and all.
...Ehhhhh....? There are some really nice pieces here and there, but you're going to really work to make your guys look great. They're not horrible, but the overwhelming look of the game is generic fantasy.
- Do pawns ever shut up?
Bwahaahaahaahaa!
Real answer? Fuck no. You eventually get used to it, and you can tweak your personal pawn to talk less. But you're rolling the dice when it comes to other pawns.
- And should I buy the updated release or one of the original copies?
Dark Arisen for sure. If you could actually swing it though, get your hands on an original copy, play it for 2 minutes to create a save, then play Dark Arisen so you can get the bonuses for importing, a few which are completely exclusive. Otherwise, Dark Arisen has the complete original game, with awesome tweaks and the additional content. No reason not to get it.

1. Pretty good. The new designs from BBI are great. Daggers, Swords, Greatswords, Maces, Shortbows, Longbows, Staffs, etc.
Gear is class dependant.
2. Starter stuff is not that great but higher level stuff looks good.
3. They always have aught to say.
4. If you have a savefile from the old game you get the eternal ferrystone and some npc clothes. The ferrystones allow you to use the teleport system in the game and the eternal has unlimited uses. But it is not necessary, you only need 2 or 3 with you when they are needed and this time Capcom made them much cheaper.

Really, the fact that all of the classes are viable so long as you balance your party is one of the best parts of the game. Experiment with the playstyles, find what you like, and go to town with it. You can swap classes easily, and can actually earn augments that carry across all classes.
I am Striding, once more. Learning the last few skills. I hardly know what I'm doing, but 'tis ever a crazy fucking ride.
The problem with daggers is that everything is good.
I'm really tempted to pick this up, but I have a few questions first
Having the bonus from the original DD is really nice for quality of life. If you can't get your hands on a friend's disc, you might even be able to just get a copy of someone's DD save and upload it to your 360. Not sure how the detection works.
As for getting the game, get the game. I imagine it is not everyone's cup of tea, but if it is, in fact, your cup of tea, it will most likely be in contention for the sweetest cup of the generation.
Ahh, so this is what running out of stamina was like. Didn't really happen to Mystic Knight of Tír Na Nóg.

So, the tears from the lesser dragonkin. There seems to be a lot of conflicting info about what they do, but after some time just one, then then two, then all three of the set I understand what they really do.
They enable monsters to drop two items each. Their regular drops will do as they have always done, however the tears can cause them to also drop things from a list of curatives and wakestones with the most common item being Potent Greenwarish.
Since they don't replace drops or affect chests, the only downside to having them lugged about by your pawn is that they weigh 0.2 each.
Edit: The Dragon's Dogma player's guide seems to indicate every foe has a chance to drop extra stuff with tears, even ones outside the Everfall, however the rates for basic enemies are very low (~5%) and may only drop one item, whereas the advanced types of foes appearing in the Everfall have rates that are more noticeable and could drop a few different things. Anecdotally, I have yet to see anything but a Wight (who are supposed to drop Wakestones 100% with tears) drop something different outside of the Everfall. The guide claims that lesser dragonkin are also supposed to do this, but I certainly have not received a Wakestone from each one.
