With as slow as the forums can be due to the daily traffic, trying to connect during a spare minute via my phone is nigh impossible.
However, the load might be lightened a bit with an extra light theme--one that didn't allow avatar or sig images to show, and consisted of faster-loading forum images.
I'm positive I'm not the only mobile user faced with this quandry; bur even so, that cats forced to use dial-up would likely be thankful for such a theme, as well.
I'd be more than happy to help kick out a theme, since I don't want to be all like, "make it for me!!" and not at least offer to do something in return.

On the other hand, Im not sure if our lite theme will be compatible with mobile devices, if it isn't, I might call on you to make a mobile template that I could have installed.
But, I'm sorry to hear about the locked out thing on changing forum styles, and I'll be more than happy to test functionality if you do get the lite theme up and going.
