Simple audio CD burning questions

If I push go in plain old Windows Media Player, my MP3's will make a mix CD converted to WAV's or whatever my car wants to read, right?

I did this recently for a mix cd on one of those tiny size discs (cutest mix tape!) and it didn't work in my friend's comp, perhaps just a fluke?

An audio cd doesn't have .wav files, so it shouldn't show up like that. Your computer should read it as an audio cd right after you burn it, not a cd with music files on it.

I don't think I've used WMP to make an audio cd, but I imagine the process is straightforward enough. They should work without issues on any normal cd player.

At the same time, there are options for completely free and lightweight burning software. Try imgburn. Go to tools, create a cue file, drop all your files in, arrange them to your liking, then burn. It only takes a few seconds.

Or use iTunes. It's ridiculously simple.

I thought it was WMA's that are shortcuts to WAV's, or something like that?

Just burnt an Audio CD with WMP and I assume it will work out, thanks for helping me remember how physical media works. :3
