Yeah, trying to keep a guy in your sights with manual aim can be extremely obnoxious if they're too close. Trying to aim down sights all the time is actually a bad habit here, since it makes you slow enough for a moving player to hip-fire to death pretty easily while close up.
On that score, I would advise learning the names of the maps and just not play on the bullshit tiny ones that just favor constant sprint-and-shoot. There are at least 3-4 larger maps that are a lot more fun to play since everyone isn't just jammed together and there are a lot more opportunities to play something besides hip-firing SMGs/automatics.
That's another thing I think I've yet to memorize. I guess the best strategy would be: Memorize map layout, and be ready to aim at specific points where players usually are, as well as keeping my sights at a certain hight (head range)?
At medium-long ranges I feel like something's wrong: True, I have a hard time keeping enemies in my sight when they're moving - but sometimes I swear I've got them in my sight while firing for almost a second and not a single bullet will hit
Should've said: Heavy Assault Rifle. But bear in mind that at this point I've tried all premade weapons for one or two rounds. Though with sniper rifles I at least didn't experience the "not hiting when firing" thing, only the problem of actually aiming.

Most guns aside from the bolt-action rifles still have a bit of spray even while scoped in. So if you're using any sort of automatic rifle, you're not guaranteed to hit your target in the reticule if they're far enough away.

You guys are telling me you don't find people constantly spamming GABEN and ASKFSGH in chat scintillating conversation?
I've seen the riot shield in play a few times. I love how it expands when you deploy it, it seems super useful. Someone set it up to guard the point they were capturing (KOTH, so no hacking required, just proximity), which would have worked well had I not been carrying a grenade launcher.
A lot of them, yeah. Amazingly, the pub servers seem slightly less idiotic than Battlefield3. Which is crazy because there is literally zero monetary barrier to entry here.
I realized yesterday that I haven't seen anyone teabag, which is sort of refreshing. There's even a teabag taunt, but you have to pay for it, so no one has it. Speaking of taunts, man, some of those digital ones are so cool that I'm tempted to blow money just for them.
I wish I had the rainbow taunt :bz
I would buy this. I already spent real money to have a shiny orange gun and a skull helmet. The rainbow taunt would be the cherry on top. Is it even available to purchase or award only?
Oh and last game I saw a guy with the rank loyalist. He was pretty decked out too. Is that highest rank or does it mean something else?
No, any title other than "Level XX" is something you earn by doing something special or buy or whatever (check out the title section in the game's menu).

I've searched for some of the names listed in the thread and come up with nothing. That includes you, Minor. I tried to send an (ingame) email to "minorincident" and got "invalid recipient name" in return.

Might it be that clans are server-based? I'm located in Europe.
That's probably it. You have to create a new character if you go on the other server, so it can't search for your playername if it doesn't exist on that server.

Characters are server-based, so clans very likely are as well.

Awesome...
Guess we'll wait and see first if there even are enough willing players to warrant a european clan before creating one.

The European server is separate from the US/Aussie server, so you won't be able to join our clan if you play on it. =[
how much is this free weekend?
Also, how do I join this urapeein' clan?
To my knowledge, we don't have a EU clan. I've set up the US/Aus clan, but as I am not European, I can't set up one for you folks. If there's enough of you, someone will have to shell out the 10 euros.

Okay, if you've posted in the thread asking about it, and you're NOT European, I've attempted to add you to the clan.
If you find you are NOT in the clan, you should at least have a friend invite from me. The game doesn't allow me to invite you to the clan unless you're online, so accept my friend invite, and hit me up the next time you see me online.
If you don't have a clan invite, OR a friend request from me, send me an ingame mail and/or a friend request to minorincident and I'll get you sorted when I'm online.

Netwar is actually a lot of fun. It could be that I also really like the map that it is played on too.
I think the general consensus is that clans are server-based so unless you're playing on a US server then you can't join a clan based on it. Somebody might make a clan on the EU server though, I don't know

American servers were the default when I started, so my man was there. Char name is same as forum name, will send you a friend request, Minor.
This is pretty fun. I'm at level 4 and I'm trying out the burst fire rifle. PUG objective games continue to be iffy: some people just never want to go for the objectives.

Played some KC with some W4NGs and some pubs. My god, the pubs are terrible at KC. My team was down by 20 points at one point because they just fucking stand there 5 feet from dogtags and fire at enemies in the distance. No one picks up the fucking tags!

Welcome to the Internet, where everyone is stupid! I used to find it massively frustrating but that basically killed online games for me so now I only find it slightly frustrating, at most.

killing somebody then taking their newly arrived hardsuit is the most heartbreaking thing
Saw somebody through HRV sitting way back in a corner on one map; I figured he was just waiting for his health to recharge, so I chucked a grenade at him. Grenade arced in front of him just as he ran out to get in his landing hardsuit. The grenade kersploded directly under him, leaving me to comfort the poor widowed hardsuit.
His language afterwards indicated he was... unhappy.

So I know this is strictly multiplayer, but do we know anything about this world? I was just playing on the city map. I forget what it's called, but there was a room full of body bags. Wtf happened?

I'm used to it to a degree, but it's so much worse in KC. I suppose because the internet masses have come to understand basic CTF and point control matches, but this mode is somewhat new for most people so they just freeze up.

I dunno, but I wish the stuff just sitting around on some of the maps was more than just scenery. Off the top of my head, the drones for KOTH, the APCs, and a hangar full of hardsuits are all things I've seen around the seem remarkably detailed for things that don't really do anything.

worth noting that it takes like 1 sec to get into your own hardsuit, but a stolen hardsuit seems to take about 4-5 secs to get into

As for weapons, Combat Rifle is so far my favorite. Just good time fun there, plinking at mans.
