Hey, that's just what I came to ask about. Anyone have any opinions on the first two holo sights? Are they better than the first red dot?

I love the holo sight on the burstrifle, but I haven't tried the red dot sight at all.

The red dot is fantastic on pistols and SMGs. It actually decreases your zoom by half, so I wouldn't put it on anything that has long range capabilities. It makes sighting in CQB situationally useful.

The two holo sights are some of my favorites for the AR.

I die SO MUCH when I use the cloak, but it's also so much fun, so I don't mind.

Sneaking into the middle of a group guarding a point, stealthily decloaking, and cooking up a suicide grenade to kill 4 people is the best fun ever. Even though that plan fails more often than it works.

hehe, I love it when people are trying out the cloak for the first time

they seem to forget you aren't invisible to HRV- they never see the headshot coming

Just got to 11, and the health injector is incredibly useful, especially so against incendiary and toxin.

I'm almost dead? Haha, don't think so. The injector gives shit all for healing someone else though, only 20.

saving up my GP and then i'm gonna buy the machete when i hit 16

gonna whore the shit out of the light armor/cloak/machete combo that everyone is using until they nerf it

  • VelmeranVelmeran Registered User regular
I love people that do that machete combo, my LMG eats them alive long before their in range, and I have the ammo to take down 3-4 people before needing to reload, though sometimes I do have to pull out the pistol.

Worst thing for me is mostly long range people, but the maps are so cramped in 90% of them that I don't really worry much.

I kind of wish there were maps alla COD:4, which had great outdoor and ruined city designs. Industrial parks get boring after a bit. Would also like a limited respawn mode alla Counter strike.

Thanks to this thread I am playing this game. Good fun. Taking some time to get used to KBaM since my CoDing is done on PS3. Love all the customization.

Yeah I have to realize i'm not as invisible as I think and that it won't keep me safe from people who see me dead-on. It's primarily to keep me from getting bolt-action sniped from a distance while covering long distances and sneaking up on people with their backs turned

My favorite thing is rounding a corner and seeing a dude and freezing in my tracks while I pray that he didn't notice me.

The best part is how they always stop for a second and look around, but they usually keep moving. That's when I turn and pursue with my breach hammer.

The smart ones immediately flick on the HRV anytime they catch a hint of the cloak shimmer. Those are the times I get filled with bullets.

Just received a very nice 4000 GP in the mail for some kind of july 4th event I apparently participated in. Yusssssss

Eh, but now my brother, who I recently helped wipe his computer clean and reinstall windows on it, has decided to start redownloading his Steam library. Sooooo no BLR for me tonight, my ping jumped up to 700ms while I was in a match with a fellow w4nger and I had to bail. This thing, it is not good! I apologize for abandoning ye to your fate, errr.. It started with a Z. Zoeber? It looked a lot like that, I'm pretty sure.

edit1: hmm connection is kinda back now

edit2: annnnd booted from the match, I think I'ma have to call it quits now

  • YnuuYnuu Registered User regular
To be fair, a machete should be more than sufficient for the job. I mean, what's the world coming to if you can't hack down a 15 foot tall mechanized suit of armor using a long shaft of metal with some sharp bits?

  • SvKSvK Registered User regular
I hate hardsuits because when I meet an enemy hardsuit, dozens of bullets kill me immediately, but when I get in a hardsuit, rockets come out of nowhere and kill me immediately.

incidentally, I'm not sure yet what to do about the guys that carry around riot shields

they do not seem to be destructible, and I haven't had much success shooting through the eye hole with my burst

aim better, I suppose. or go around them, as possible

Just got stomped by a guy with a combat knife. I am thoroughly shamed. Got him back a few times, but my horrible aim made him the victor more than I

Just started playing this. I had a funny thing happen yesterday. I hacked a gate and when it opened I see an enemy on the other side hacking it from that side. I open fire and kill him. He must have just finished his hack as I killed him because the gate closed as he died, blocking his teammates who had started firing on me. Completely accidental, but it felt so bad ass.

On the receiving end, I use HRV and see someone heading towards a doorway. No time to find cover so I just crouch and aim. A second later he appears...armed with a stinger missile...I open fire but fail to kill him before he fires a missile and jukes sideways from the doorway.

They do break i think, it's just they are really tough. Grenades seem to work well against them for me. I just lob one over the other side, either they move or die.

Okay, WTF is up with my inventory?

I have apparently 15 items, but a bunch of them are things like 500GP token, which I cannot activate (and don't want to throw out, just in case I'm missing out on how to get my sweet free GP).

    What gives?

  • TolerantZeroTolerantZero Registered User regular
Are they already activated? It should tell you on the bottom right of the item whether or not it's been activated.

Feels good to wear the W4NG. However I need to pick up my game. Having a whole bunch of trouble with reactions. My ping is good, so must be the graphics. The 2 year old laptop is chugging it up. Set everything to medium to some improvement.

Is there a command to see FPS?

Sigh. This game has gone from "pretty fun" to "totally unplayable" in the span of a day. Every last one of my last dozen games was either fatally glitched (no icons, only one enemy listed on the enemy team even though it's a full server, no indicators, etc) or suffered from horrific and inexplicable framerate issues. Maps I've played dozens of times without framerate issues will now hitch every 30-60 seconds or the game will almost freeze completely in reaction to HRV. It's not even a consistent HRV issue, either. Sometimes it'll flick on without a stutter, scan smoothly, and then hit me with 20-30 seconds of freezing the game completely after turning it off; other times, turning it on causes stutter for so long that it runs out and I'm dead. And then sometimes it just drops the framerate to a slideshow.

This is after several days of more or less smooth gameplay, by the way. I dunno what these guys screwed up, but it's really pissing me off.

  • ImperfectImperfect Toronto, Ontario, CanadaRegistered User regular
It looks activated? But why would it stay around?

Anyway, sent you a friend request, @minor_incident. Hopefully I'll see you online at some point.

  • TolerantZeroTolerantZero Registered User regular
Yeah, I don't know why they stick around. I still have my 300 GP token from the starter pack, even though I've had less than that at one point.

I'd delete them, but I'm afraid I'd lose the GP by doing so, haha.

Endlessly amusing way to deal with melee people: Equip grenade. Prime Grenade, but do not throw it. Get killed by melee dude that won't go away and then watch as the next kill line shows "Soandso Suicided!".
