@zebukiel implants are still useful, just need to be mindful of where you stick them. I have a +4 clone in UEJX, so when I knew i wasn't going to be on for a day or so, i'd pod up there and just let the passive boost help. Generally I only fly in fleets with no implants, because I'm a poor still. Just don't stuff your head full of implants and get podded 10 minutes later. In regards to slowing down your skills, depends what you are training. Yes it's slower, but if you do a lot of pvp and are in risk of losing your pod, it's an isk / effort argument.
@khildith i'm not familiar with them, but the mechanics sound right. So long as you don't destroy said hisec clone, it should remain. You can also 'create' a clone in hisec by docking up in a station, and jumping to an already established clone in Null or another station where you have one planted. So technically you can always make a clone in hisec, you just need to first have a clone elsewhere to jump into. This trick avoids standings.
Yeah it's a very intimidating game to start. This is very accurate:
Once you get in corp it's going to make a whole lot more sense. Goons are truly amazing at helping newbies out, and the wiki alone is so valuable. I spent my first couple weeks in corp just reading everything I could on the wiki. I'm approaching my one year mark (oh god) in a couple months and I can tell you it's going to be confusing for a bit longer, but it's worth sticking with it.
Well I dropped in the app yesterday, I have about 1 day left to get to long range targeting IV so I can equip the celesti properly. Hopefully I'll be out there soon enough.

So are there plans for a Celestes/Apocalypse fleet?
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

So I know eve is a game of patience.. But man! Waiting for my app to be accepted I think is worse than anything else.. haha, Building up my courage n what not to say.. Lets do eet, lets do the null sec wonderland everyone talks about, and then to wait, its torture! haha
I am not really complaining about the time taking as in I am angry or anything just random musings. I am sure everything takes time and has a process ETC. Just figured I'd share my last nearly 48 hours! haha

Ensure you are actually checking on the status of your app. Nowadays you have to accept your acceptance.

Megas > Apocs
I dunno, apocs seem FAR more phallic, which is what I was going for.

So I went ahead and got a 3 month subscription to Eve since it was only $30. Got a starter pack with it. Only thing is, now I don't know how to get my free shit from the starter pack.

Oh well, I'm still having fun with the game.
If you hit escape while in game and click "Redeem Items" it should pop up with a list. If not try it from the character select screen!
The starter books and stuff are unimportant, but that sweet sweet 35 day stat boost is something you'll wanna slot right away.
The bugginess of this game really pisses me off sometimes. I just had a fight where I a) couldn't switch the script in my tracking computer (yes it was inactive at the time), and b) switched to long range lasers and then couldn't switch back to multifreqs. Needless to say I died

I'm guessing this was in a high-lag situation? Where you get "sticky" modules, try dragging them to another slot on the UI (ie: drag it to where your MWD or something is) and wait a second. If that doesn't work swap it again. if that still doesn't work, you're likely desynched with the server and you can either (1) wait it out (2) relog (3) die.
Also never, ever complain about the modern day EVE being buggy. After the battle of P-2TTL in 2010, Malc was stuck in space and I couldn't log into him for three days. "Bugs" in EVE now are like a large annoying fly buzzing in your face and it's irritating and tickley in a vaguely unclean way, ew. Bugs in EVE used to be a ravening horde of Japanese Hornets high on crack and PCP and who were convinced that you killed their mother.

The current biggest "bug" is just the IT guys trying to "help".
For business reasons, I must preserve the outward sign of sanity.

If you guys are having issues getting a response on your application, contact Anehiixii in-game - the name listed in the Recruitment OP is currently too busy winning at EvE.
thanks for the heads up guys, I went ahead and sent anehiixii a evemail as well. We shall see!

The difference is that in most MMOs what you do has no effect on the game world. At all. In Eve, allowing the wrong person to join a corp could destroy Empires.
...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
Well, I spent the last 12+ hours setting up the overview, reading all the data i need to read. Made it to front lines.. taking a break. Hopefully upon return I can get in a ship and blow it up.

It might be fun for tooling around high-sec exploration sites, I suppose.

I have been, its been at "unprocessed"
I wouldn't argue with anyone here maybe poking HR people in game if given the chance.

Ah well then you want a Celestes/Thorax fleet.

Seriously though all waiting means is that the recruitment dudes haven't processed apps in the last few days. You just need to be patient.
