This looks super fun! Eagerly anticipating how the final Cowboy 'Verse buttons will look. Not sure if this has been covered before, but if we're cosplaying, is it alright to take off our badge when taking photos?

Preferably not, but if the badge really detracts from your costume then it's ok. I'm assuming you're talking about posed pictures with others and not just random pics while you're walking around the center. Keep in mind you cannot assassinate someone unless your badge is on.

Shipping time is 3-5 days in the US. Cutoff for shipping kits is August 22, after that date any orders will need to be picked up at the convention. If you will be leaving early, like for PAX DEV, and you think your kit may not be shipped in time let me know and I can carry it with me to give to you.

I'm committed to getting the remaining buttons ready for ordering this weekend (also Rush, Rush). I've got some ideas for them but shout out if you have any suggestions!

Also is there a rule or guideline that protects a player from being killed if he is in the process of killing someone, getting their missions, giving them a parting gift etc?

There's no rule that's specifically says this but there is one concerning assassinating a player who is performing an action that is relevant.
Should your target be performing an activity that would be disrupted by you approaching them please wait for the player to finish before approaching.

Note that it's more than likely you will receive a target that is of your own faction if you kill enough people but you don't have to kill someone if you don't want to.
I think I'll do this differently. If it's of my own faction, I may offer them a test of skill to survive the sting of my (purely metaphorical) blade. I care more about having fun than scoring points. :-)

No problem! Alliances and such are totally allowed and encouraged! Part of the reason I added the factions to the game was to give some story so that things like this would be easier! I'm hoping to add more story to the game down the line but without affecting the core idea of assassins.
Speaking of story I received a message from the Sparkly Ponies today and they are pissed. They do not like having their faction page blank and demand restitution. Luckily I was able to talk them down from stampeding but the price was high. They want two buttons, one for boy and one for girls! Check out the boys version below and let me know what you think!
I'm not a Sparkly Pony, but I think some people might be slightly upset if the guys' pin is all tough and the girls' pin ends up being frilly and... pink.
