Well, I got EU3 working and immediately had one of those "I'm just gonna back away slowly" moments. That'll have to wait until one of those days where I'm insane.
I actually was a member of the PA steam group at one point but got kicked out of it for some reason. Do you get kicked out for not being active enough?
No, but as I recall a while ago there was a purge that would have done Stalin proud (which is ironic since the primary goal was to get rid of Russians!), and I'm sure some legitimate people got kicked by mistake, collateral damage.

Is anybody else getting an error where you're online on Steam but offline in the friends tab? I also can't sync to the Steam cloud, and new games don't show up in my library :O
I voted Driver because it is a game that needs to have more people appreciate it. But Hot Pursuit is a good game, and I actually might be tempted to pick it up just to have a Steam copy (bought it from Direct2Drive when it came out).

Similarly, people should probably stay away from Unreal 3. It uses Gamespy for multiplayer. And sometimes even if you already have a Gamespy account, it won't let you log in.
I'm having a lot of fun with Fable III so far. The choices you make during the story aren't very organic to the gameplay, in fact they blink neon lights and say "THIS IS A CHOICE! THIS IS A CHOICE!" but this is sort of The Deal with Peter Molyneux games. Plus Cleese as the haughty butler type is always a treat.
I guess the movements of the character's mouths don't closely track the dialogue? And people actually care about that? Not understanding the hate, especially at this price. Maybe when I get far enough along and start to see some of the game's limitations, I'll be less warm on it. But for now, this thing rules. It plays like a comfortable console game on PC--which, for a dude playing with a 360 controller anyway--is exactly what I'm after.
Oddworld guys have started closed Beta testing of the Stranger's Wrath HD upgrade, so it's finally looking like we'll be seeing it sometime soonish. So if you see the Oddboxx on a daily, snag it, they're upgrading Stranger's Wrath to the HD version for free for anyone that owns it when it comes out. From what I understand they're giving the upgrade for Munch free too but that's likely much further away.

At the risk of angering the Newell, for some of the newer folks who are experiencing this craziness for the first time, there's three more seasonal sales yet this year. Typically they have a Halloween one, there's one at Thanksgiving, and then the big Christmas Sale.
In my early Steam days, I thought these events were few and far between and bought more out of fear that I'd never see these types of prices again.
