I'm having a lot of fun with Fable III so far. The choices you make during the story aren't very organic to the gameplay, in fact they blink neon lights and say "THIS IS A CHOICE! THIS IS A CHOICE!" but this is sort of The Deal with Peter Molyneux games. Plus Cleese as the haughty butler type is always a treat.
I guess the movements of the character's mouths don't closely track the dialogue? And people actually care about that? Not understanding the hate, especially at this price. Maybe when I get far enough along and start to see some of the game's limitations, I'll be less warm on it. But for now, this thing rules. It plays like a comfortable console game on PC--which, for a dude playing with a 360 controller anyway--is exactly what I'm after.
You sir! Yes you the one with the monkey! You seem like a handsome fellow, how would like to play Fable III...as a man in a dog cosume?! And just because I like your face I'll throw in more DLC that lets you turn your faithful companioni into...a poodle! Yes sir I know this sounds too good to be true but all this could be yours for the low low price of nothing and is guaranteed not to cause cancer.
Guarantee not actually a guarantee.
So how about it friend? Ready to take your game to the next level!?
They seem to have given me all the Fable III DLC: "Understone Quest Pack," "Traitor's Keep," and then the way more intriguing-sounding "Dog Outfit," "Industrial Knight Outfit," and "Dog Breed Set." It is a bit of a PITA to copy paste redeem into GFWL, but I seem to have done okay. I'll let you know if that's not the case.

I'm completely cutting myself off this time 'round. Even though the deals are great my backlog has been growing exponentially since my second child was born. Plus I've been stuck on Recettear lately, even exceeding my total hours on Terraria and Mass Effect!
EDIT: Of course, I couldn't resist the otRSPoD sale the other week though, hence my sig.
Hmmm... should I buy Just Cause 2, and all the DLC?
I think DisruptedCapital 's av has your answer
We are a band of enablers of the highest degree. And it is GLORIOUS!
I can see it now, "My name's Gabe, and im a Steamaholic. I've lost my wallet, and then my time, and then my family. Now im blowing dudes in dark alleys on the wrong side of town to get that rush of a daily deal. "
I love that being a Steam junky has nothing to do with playing games, but only getting really good deals on game purchases.
At the risk of angering the Newell, for some of the newer folks who are experiencing this craziness for the first time, there's three more seasonal sales yet this year. Typically they have a Halloween one, there's one at Thanksgiving, and then the big Christmas Sale.
In my early Steam days, I thought these events were few and far between and bought more out of fear that I'd never see these types of prices again.
Right? I remember thinking man, this fall sale is great, and ill never have to buy another game again for a while! Then the Christmas sale came. Let's just say my wallet is no longer chaste.
I actually was a member of the PA steam group at one point but got kicked out of it for some reason. Do you get kicked out for not being active enough?
No, but as I recall a while ago there was a purge that would have done Stalin proud (which is ironic since the primary goal was to get rid of Russians!), and I'm sure some legitimate people got kicked by mistake, collateral damage.
So can you guys elaborate on this whole Russians thing.
It sounds hilarious and I've love to know more.

We occasionally have russians coming into the PA chat looking for friends/free games. Most likely because of our presence on steamgifts and the general classiness of the forums.
They aren't ALL russian; it's just a term we've been using to refer to those types of people.

Right. I think the toughest part is the first half of the year. After that, big sales just keep on coming.
Bioshock for $5? And Bioshock 2 for another $5? Should I get both, or just the first one?
This feels like the cheapest I've seen them.
From what I've heard B1 has the best story and B2 has the best gameplay. If you've already had the plot of 1 spoiled, then just get 2.
What he meant to say was buy them both, because they're amazing and 2k deserves the money for both games.
A few sales ago I'd have recommended just buying the entire 2k catalog pack, but it looks like they've cut it down pretty heavily this time. Kind of a shame, 2k has a lot of decent stuff to its name.

Darn hotel wifi was out this morning so I couldn't get into steam at all. Hopefully by the time we get back I'll be able to connect again and enter some steam gifts contests! My room doesn't even allow cell signal to get through...
In case anyone was wondering, the Steam app for iPod/iPhone/iPad is pretty great, and allows you to see everything that's happening with the Steam sale.

Maybe if we cut off Florida's internet...
I have a feeling that a lot of people clicked the button for Driver: San Francisco, but never clicked "Vote". Can we count those as votes?
I want Anno.....but I want it for more than 50% off...
