Spies vs. Mercenaries
Splinter Cell: Double Agent, like all the Splinter Cell games sporting multiplayer, pits a team of spies against a team of mercenaries. The spies of Thief Echelon must infiltrate and hack objectives and take completed files to the drone at their insertion point. The UPSILON Force mercenaries must do everything in their power to ensure the spies do not download the files or return completed files to their drone.
SPIES
Very fast. Very agile. Is capable of a variety of acrobatic movements around a map. Can only carry one non-lethal gadget and carries no weapons, but comes with a hacking device that can hack door locks, disable lights, break glass, download files from the objective terminals, or even hack a mercenary's visor. A spy can only kill a mercenary by grabbing them from behind and snapping their neck, pulling them over a high rail, or landing on top of their head
twice. The first time renders unconsciousness. The second time kills.
MERCENARIES
Slow and ponderous, but heavily armed. A mercenary is capable of launching grenades, filling a room with very loud lead, flying a spotlight equipped exploding drone, detecting the presence of nearby spies, and smacking a spy silly before head butting them to death. With their assault rifle and brute strength, a mercenary is a walking death factory... If they can find you.

But I don't know how to play!
That's fine. In the multiplayer menu, there is a help option where it gives some very good non-interactive tutorials about how to play every facet of both the UPSILON team and the spy team. The only thing left to learn is maps. When you first start, you'll only have three available maps anyway, and you should be able to learn them fairly quickly. There will hopefully be no pressure to get good quickly, anyway, and this is a game that takes practice and quick thinking (or not really, but you need to eventually kind of learn maps).

What are we doing?!
If you want to play, you'll need to leave your gamertag so you can be added to the roster and you'll also need to add at least some people to your friends list.
Why do you need to add people? Because Double Agent's matchmaking system is awful, and unless we can invite people to the games, we'll find it impossible to find eachother. It might also help if you could give some indication of what times would be best for you to play.

These are the people you want to play with. (Except for the first one on the list.)

UK based - add me - I've been keen to play this but late to party so a tad nervous about not knowing the maps
It felt like they just gave up on the whole concept they were going for in the first place. The replacement lacks any of the Tom Clancy 'authenticity'; the spy looks impractical and the mercenary is downright retarded. There's just no finesse or complexity to it anymore .
Why does the game on have to happen while my 360 is in for repair though?
Add me to the list anyway, gamertag: Utinlaar
And AHH! You should get this.
Id love to play with proper PA people, i love DA but have never been able to do any teamwork stealthing. Plus its bloody hard to find a good game on it.
Oh and im in the UK as well.
I'll be on way later tonight, but most people will probably be asleep by then since they probably keep normal schedules as people tend to.
That's a good idea! I'm sure you don't mind if I take all the credit for it.
EDIT: Also, nice games, Pooch, even if the host refused to let me change teams.
