I'm spending the summer at my mother's, she has a Zyxel router which someone set up for her. She doesn't know any of the passwords for Wifi and generally has no clue about why she has internet acces.
I connected my Xbox to an ethernet-cable and played some multiplayer games. Everything seemed fine, but suddenly the following problem keeps ocurring: I'll be playing for about twenty minutes, and suddenly I get thrown out of the game. After that I get disconnected from Xbox Live. For example: I'm playing Battlefield 3, I get kicked back to the main menu, the screen says: 'There is a problem with connecting to EA online' and ten seconds later I get the Xbox pop up message 'You have been disconnected from Xbox Live'. When I reset the Xbox I can reconnect to Xbox Live, play for about 10 minutes, then get kicked out again. I've tried other games; same problem.
I haven't been able to test this theory a whole lot, but it seems like it only happens during the evening/nighttime. It can't really have anything to do with data limit/traffic overload since no one in this house does anything online but send a few emails. Also, laptops/desktops in the house have no problems.
Is there anything I can do, apart from buying a new router I can set up myself?
