I set a pretty strict $25 budget for this sale, and I came pretty close to making it. An unexpected Jade Empire sale threw a huge wrench in the works.

I bought TLJ+Dreamfall as a gift, but the intended recipient had bought it for himself so I traded it for GalCiv2. I unfortunately had no other plans on doing any gifting this sale even though it's the cool thing to do. Tight spending budgets, while necessary for the foreseeable future, are no fun.

Still trying to find someone to trade me Evochron Mercenary or Jade Empire for Risen and whatever out of my inventory, but aside from that I'm done for the sale barring something too crazy to pass up like a completely unexpected $10 Max Payne 3 sale.

Overall, I'm actually pretty happy the sale was rather lackluster. It made sticking to my budget a lot easier, and I'll have managed to get my top 3 items that I was hoping would go on sale (Trine 2, Harley Quinn, and Jade Empire) by the time the sale ends.

The only thing I regret skipping is Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, primarily because I skipped it last sale on the hope that it would hit $5 in a future sale (which ended up happening). But I decided to just wait for Rebellion to drop in price since it sounds like it adds a lot of worthwhile content to the game and renders Trinity redundant. If Stardock releases another expansion that renders the Rebellion package redundant by the time it hits $5 or $10 I'm going to be upset.

Even though very few of you have ever or will ever actually meet each other, you still gift each other what must by now be thousands of dollars worth of games even though the only thing we all have in common is that we like Penny Arcade.

Having to pick what items you keep is an important part of the game.

The game is designed so you don't often need to traverse more than 5 floors at a time, though.
