Yeah, as much as I hate established companies asking for donated money so they can profit harder, their rewards at 100$ are pretty nice and only going to get better. the 10$ add on is a bones version of their 40/50$ mini's..... It's really hard not to jump on this.
Edit: Also just to be clear, Bones are basically a miracle product. Cheaper then regular mini's(9-12$ minis are 3$ in this system), and the material there made out of is essentially preprimed and doesn't need priming.

need some help with my tyranids going with an orange carapace with grey body or grey carapace with orange body, and not sure what colours the claws and carapace highlights would be
Dark Grey for the chitin (armour). Tyranids work best with the darker colour on the chitin and the lighter colour on the skin.

Have some WIP on one of my Heavy Gear Arena minis. It's a Cheetah (specifically, Cheetah Paratrooper cuz it looks cooler) wielding a Heavy Vibro Sword. Apparently due to it having the Crushing trait, it's a valid weapon for Staff Form... which is exactly what its pilot is using it for.
A light Gear with a weapon almost as large as itself. Fuck yes.

Totally legal as per the rules, too. I've used it in one match. It's absolutely brutal, and its pilot has since gotten substantially better. Guy started off as an afterthought I picked up 'cause I wanted a newbie pilot to customize to my liking. His class allowed me to pick whatever two combo styles I wanted, so I gave him Staff Form and Defensive Fighting. I also picked him up mostly because one of my three starting pilots got knocked into a two-game coma.
See, one of my sponsors is the Cheetah's canonical manufacturer, Shaian. They demand I bust out a Cheetah every single match or not benefit from their sponsorship perks. That Cheetah got blown up in one hit after being flipped onto its head. I grabbed my Pugilist and put her into it next and had my new guy pilot her SIdewinder. Cheetah got done fucked over again, and the Pugilist hit the hospital for one game. Newbie got his shit slapped but manged to survive.
After that... Hrm. What happened. Rolled up a Lone Wolf match, so it was my gunner against a bunch of dudes by himself. Got blown into a Coma after a very awesome match, but I misunderstood the victory conditions so he got hurt as a result. Actually didn't use the Cheetah that match (forgot), but all that happened was no benefits. Boo hoo.
Next match was just skipped over, forget why, but I actually WON that one when we rolled to figure out the winner. My poor newbie had a kickass +1 defensive bonus from a post-game roll that got used up in that one, unfortunately. By the time his next match came up, I said fuck it and threw him into the Cheetah because the Racer and Pugilist didn't do so well. It also helps that thanks to him being the token substitute, I invested a crap ton of EXP into him because he was the only pilot in the entire team to not have been put into a coma yet. The ranged specialist comes second in terms of EXP investement, followed by my manager, then the pugilist, then the racer. Or was it the racer, then pugilist? I forget.
Anyway, so I said fuck it and put him into the Cheetah because of that. it ALSO helps that I succeeded in acquiring that very sasme Heavy Vibro Sword from the black market and installed it. It was a 2 on 2 game, with the ranged specialist backing him up. Ranged guy got taken out after being flanked by the other pugilist (Who mercilessly pounded the newbie around like a punching bag inside his heavily over-armored Sidewinder in his first match), but the newbie was able to judo-flip the other gear into a rock and cleave it in two.
So pretty much, the Young Gun who was brought in solely to fill in empty spots left by comatose pilots quickly became my star player. He's level 2 now.

Finally got around to taking WIP pictures of my Sorcerer's legs. I think they're coming along nicely.
e: And you can see part of my attempt at painting a white Scourge in the background, too!
You should really add wamp-forum.com. It's my favorite mini related site, and not just because I'm one of their reviewers. There are a lot of tutorials and other resources there, as well as some really talented people who can offer some great advice.
I've been working on an old-school metal Grimgore for a while now- been taking it slow on him and trying otu some techniques from the true metalic metals tutorial from miniature mentor. The skin is mostly done- needs some touching up. Been working on glazing some patina onto the metal. Some of it didn't show in this picture due to glare from the lights, but you can see some of it. The glazing process leaves the metallic paint's natural reflectivity, just puts some color over it, which makes it hard to photograph.
I've also been working on a conversion side project based on the Vampite Count's Cairn Wraith along with some Grey Knight bits I had lying around. It'll be a while before I get to painting this guy- have to figure out what I'm going to do for the base.
I need to get that wraith model some time. I really dig it.

Yeah I use a suitably modified one as Haemonculus, it is raaad.
Also I have forgotten how much I hate painting Gaunts. Only 12 left and I shall hopefully never have to do another one (trying hard to ignore the big pile of hormagaunts which need re-painting; they don't count)
Does anyone have any critiques of the hill I made? Other than the problem with playable surface area that I had mentioned? I actually want to get good at making terrain.
Experimenting with Dark Eldar skin color. I want them really pale and gaunt-looking. VGC Stonewall Grey as basecoat. Then I'll use a thinned-down brown wash to shade, highlight back up to Stonewall Grey, and then mix white into Stonewall Grey for brighter highlights.

Grey to white works really well for DE skin tones. You also may want to try a colder shade color if you want to go super pale.
I did mine up in a red & bone scheme so I was basically going for space vampires. Skin was dheneb stone washed with really thin blue wash then highlighted up to a dheneb/white mix. I don't know if that would look good with your blue hair though.
I used Astronomican Grey, washed with the old blue wash, then highlighted with Astro Grey and then a touch of white for my super pale, no sunlight in Commorragh Dark Eldar. I basically wanted them to look like they'd lost all melanin because of living out of the sun for so long. If you want them really pale looking you don't want much skin tone in there at all.
I used blue hair as well but my armor is dark red so I used the blues as spot colors to offset the warm reds.
Fuck me but that's a lot of minis for $100 in that Reaper Kickstarter. Even with international postage, that's looking very hard to turn down simply as an investment as I'm sure you could make a lot more than $100 turning those around individually on EBay.

Yeah thats how I feel. I have all of super dungeon explore to paint, zombicide is coming too, and at least a dozen random fantasy mini's to paint. I might jump on it if I can get diablo 3 fun bucks together in time.

Okay, I can't decide on which colo(u)r scheme to go with for me DE, so I'm letting you PA dudes decide:
Blurry pic and shitty light, but here's the test model so far. Was painting at a friend's place and forgot my Kolinsky brush at home, so the edge highlight on the legs got too thick, but otherwise I'm making progress.

I mean, my middle name is "Ladybanger" but so far, no job in that line of work.

That's PVA glue as a water effect, it'll go clear when it dries.
