So despite still feeling exhausted I decided to hit Steam last night (big mistake) - ended up trying Hard Reset which is very nice looking, Price of Persia Sands of Time which worked after turning fog off (I have since found a fix I'll try tonight) but also NFS Hot Pursuit which is crazy, insane fun. I sort of forgot my kid was down in the basement with me which meant he got Little Big Planet 2 time until 10pm which is fairly late for him.
At that point I think due to being overtired, overextended and a bit dehydrated I crashed. I woke up this morning still not feeling right. Not a fan of the world today - gonna take a lot to get through the next 8 hours.

I know it's been like seven years and we're in a post-Steam world now (or intra-Steam, whatever), but did they ever get rid of the godawful DRM that X3 Reunion was stuck with at release?
As far I can recall it was patched out around the 2.5 patch for Terran Conflict and I believe nothing contained within the Super Box has Starforce DRM anymore.
Pretty sure that's correct (except I think it was the 2.0 patch for Reunion).

I think you might be getting things mixed up there. The guy who played Jeor Mormont was in an ad for Darksiders II. It looks like the voice of Death is Michael Wincott.

So I decided to play FEAR 1 this morning with the intention of running through all three FEAR games, one after the other. Maybe not in one sitting :P
I've never finished the first on PC so its nice to see the game run superbly well. Also, I was beginning to think the the shotgun being awesome might just be nostalgia and then this happened.
Original FEAR is one of the most visceral meaty shooters ever made. Damn did those guns feel good. Also the entire game made you feel like a fucking badass while scissor kicking dudes in the face, pulling out the nail gun and nailing them to the wall.

FEAR 1 is genuinely creepy. I maintain that the last 1.5 hours is especially frightening.

I still haven't finished FEAR, I really should start it again at some point. I really like the spear gun whatever that's called, pinning bad guys to walls with their heads never gets old
PA forumer @Dr Mario Kart (Steam ID Shane200) Has entered and won a number of giveaways (especially during the previous sale). He took most of the items that he won and put them up as steamgift giveaways to the public after being told here that it was heavily frowned upon.
I am honestly a little upset as one of the few giveaways I did during the Summer Sale went to a scumbag instead of a deserving member of the community.

I literally cannot enter the Killing Floor giveaway because I had a guest pass for it so Steamgifts thinks it "Exists in Your Account." Anyone know if this is solvable?

Persevere. It's worth it. That part can get really annoying, but just be careful, play defensively, and use the defense magic if you've got it.
Not long after that you can complete the Abyssal Armor if you want, and then shrug off damage like it's nothing.

Trust me, that sense of "what?" will continue throughout the entire game, and escalate in the best possible way.
@Antihippy I was exhausted, but wanted to take a quick look at it just to get a feel, and was immediately and wonderfully absorbed. I don't want to be hyperbolic, but every other game can stop trying to have a sense of whimsy and charm now. Forever. It's been done at the maximum level.
My little guys just flew away as things got too real. Later today I will go back to them, and we will continue our magical adventure. Thanks again for this game, it's been a great surprise since it was mostly on my wish list due to art style and generally positive vibe.

They're also offering a 10 percent discount preorder on Borderlands 2 if you've ever bought a copy of the original game from them.
Which series do I start: Mass Effect, Trine, or Fear? Also if anyone wants to play NFS:HP, Zero Gear, Payday or anything else I am usually open.

ME1 was the best game in the series. Sure, a lot of mechanics were refined and polished in 2 and 3, but neither game can even come close to the absolutely immersive and epic story in ME1.
Never has a video game made me feel more like a hero than the end of ME1.
Glad you found your way to our community. Given that you haven't been active on the PA forums, I wouldn't expect to receive an invite to the Steam group. Again, we assume good intent but unfortunately a lot of folks come in just for a shot at free games and have no intention of actually being part of the community.

They're also offering a 10 percent discount preorder on Borderlands 2 if you've ever bought a copy of the original game from them.
I hate to criticize them but Amazon sales with a few exceptions seem to be very repetitive. Back in my college days, my wife worked at a regional chain store that has since disappeared (Ames) and I used to make fun of the store because it seemed like they had the same 3 sets of sales that they just rotated between over and over again. I'd ask her every week if fine jewelry was 75% off plus an additional 10% at the register and every week the answer was yes.
Amazon is like that - they seem to have some great agreements with publishers but they keep recycling them over and over again.

Speaking of Borderlands 2, I thought it was coming out in a few months. Why is it that I cannot wishlist it in Steam?

You can get it earlier, which is what I usually do. Just unlock the VTOL homie, call it, and fly to your helipad.
