We're all still allowed to like THIS Hey! Arnold though, well within our age group
this is my programming textbook BUT i think it's also used in the programming 2 course in the spring. i figure i can maybe rent it the first semester for whatever, 60 or 70 bucks? then photocopy the rest in anticipation of the 2nd semester.
I would definitely make sure you need the book first, I think I only ended up picking up 2 of the CS books used in my classes, and both because homework was assigned out of the books because my teachers were lazy fucks and because the tests were open book. It also helped that one of the classes was based on a programming language that was designed specifically for teaching about programming languages which is used by nobody for anything non-academically and has extremely few learning resources outside of the one book about it.
And yet things aimed at 5-11 boys are alright? Where are the feminists here? Have they all gone to pat themselves on the back for winning the war against societally defined gender expectations?
You ascribe unsubstantiated maliciousness to me half an hour after I make a comment in a now closed [chat] without the courtesy of even half assed trying to quote my post, and now I'm somehow less of a proponent of equality for taking umbrage at your assholish goosery and not coming into the breach in a new [chat] thread that was more focused on saving 'chu money and the meta commentary about the jail thread? I'm sorry Moniker, I was more just really upset at the ridiculous disparity between how the two initial groups of people I had indicated in my original post had been treated in the same chat thread within the same day. People were literally advocating (jokingly) for the murder of Bronies.
I wasn't ascribing any maliciousness towards you, I just found it funny (in a sad way) that people were so quick to blind themselves of any hypocrisy.

Lose your intro to programming books, take the later ones on a case by case basis. Check the book on amazon before committing to buy or rent, not all of them are worth keeping but some definitely are.
