I'd considered that. I hope not since it's only two or three months old and I'd rather not go through the hassle. I figure I'll wait and see if it happens again.
If you have a video card utility like RivaTuner, you can set it to record your temperatures while you play a game that strains your system a bit. If it's overheating, you might just need to buy another cooler fan/dust it out. Alternately, if it's already showing a breakdown after two months of use, you probably have a good case for sending it off for a replacement.
I'd figure next expansion after the leviathan single player stuff will be a single player/multi paid add on that deals with Omega.
I'm still not quite sure how they're going to handle the... issues of
A Reaper being turned back into something purely organic. I have a feeling its going to outclass the Thorian in the horrible monster territory, by far.

I had a strangely awesome pub group on Friday night. I had just respeced my Fury and wanted to try a Gold match. So I join a game and it's an N7 Fury...
I think: "OK, let's see what the others are, we can do two Furies."
Then another Fury joins and I'm immediately considering what else to play/waiting to see if someone else switches. A fourth joins, N7 Demolisher, and he immediately says "I can see I'm playing the wrong class." I switch to Justicar, and when I come back, the other two are laughing because the 4th guy is now a Fury. So I switch *back* to Fury and we start talking about how a 4 Fury run will go.
These are cool gents, chatting it up and talking about the game. We get Geth-Reactor. Immediately someone groans and I know they know what's up. We have fun and get though it. Early on, someone asks what 4 Demolishers would be like. After that game I we do a 4 Demolisher game Glacier-Cerberus (still gold) and it's a breeze. Next game is 4 Shadows. It was Vancouver-Reapers and my first game as a shadow, so I got eviscerated on more than two occasions but we make it through.
After that we start trying different things, but end up friending each other before leaving. It was a truly amazing 'pub' group.

I rarely ever see fan art of Miranda that makes her appear likable. Aimo does good work.
Yvonne's face makes her seem bitchy the way the game animates it. A little too artificial and robotic. Kinda like Miranda.

I set up for a random platinum game, and put on some nice level 3 weapon equipment and Armor peircing rounds, then I get dumped into a Geth White Platinum game where I'm dead in the first wave because the other players already got killed and executed, and while I waited to just let the thing die, players left and then more players joined the game and suffered the same fate, until finally no one else joined. And then all those equipments were lost with less than 10 seconds of real play. That's something that needs to be changed, because sometimes I'll play a full gold game and keep all my equipment, other times I lose it even when the game disconnects me.

I had a fun match like that. As soon as the map loaded, a Banshee that was camping the spawn point grabs me and OHKO's me. Before I could even move. 0 seconds of real play.
THis game seems bound and determined to make sure I always have 3 respec cards on hand. I need to stop using the damn things.
Getting closer and closer to never getting a bunch of weapons again. Soon... soon I will start getting more levels for my Reegar and Piranha. Soon.
I hear you brother but its usually my fault.
"Man...I really don't like this one point I put here. Maybe I would like it better here. Naw...it isn't like it would make that big of a difference...but man...it would be so much better over there. Maybe I'll just use one spec card. It isn't a big deal."
A few hours later, I've used all 3.

I don't equip gear until I'm in a lobby.
Once was enough for me.
Of course, I'll still sometimes get disconnected in the middle of a game, which is incredibly irritating when I've equipped level 4 consumables.
Got hit with Vancouver's disappearing drone on Wave 6 of Gold Reapers. The host didn't realize that he had to drop in order to fix it. Ah well.
Reallly it was unfortunate because we had three Furies, including myself, and a Gethfiltrator. Was shaping up to be a good team, but I was kinda burned after the glitch and logged off.

Yeah. The worse is decking yourself out and getting forced until a game where the team is currently being slaugthered.
Extra points if you spawn into getting your ass beat by like 3 Geth Primes and a Pyro.
On the subject of pyros...has anyone else noticed that their flame seems to reach further than it animates? There have been plenty of times where I thought I escaped death by the skin of my teeth...but nope...still dead.

i think a while back they buffed their flamethrower
but they can't do anything with the animation on the back end, so

Another reason I hate fighting Geth. Along with Hunters shot staggering you even when you don't look like you're staggered and keeping you from using abilities/items.
Also...I really, really hope they do something about Krogan Sentinel/Soldier stagger rates next patch.
N7 Paladin and his sheild is pretty cool. Rushed by Husks? Swat! Swat! Brute charging you? Come at me bro!
Played a game on Firebase Jade, waiting for extraction. This Krogan next to me was going to town with his typhoon so i set up in front of him with my sheild. It was pretty awesome looking.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
So what do folks take on the 5th grenade evolution for the N7 destroyer? I'm running with warfighter (+AR damage + grenade capacity) gear. Do I need to grab the +2 nades or should I go extra damage?
I also played up to wave 9 on a game last night without turning on the destroyer mode. That was embarassing. The whole game I was thinking "man, my revenant isn't very accurate this game".

I go for the extra damage.
Most of my DPS comes from just shooting stuff, I mainly use grenades to do big damage to clusters of enemies. And with Warfighter I get 2 extra grenades and +10% damage to my AR. Could even use Grenade Capacity if I wanted but I've found that 4 grenades is more than enough and easy enough to refill as long as their isn't another grenade user on the map.
does anyone else have SERIOUS matchmaking issues? Literally 90% of the games I join are already in progress, it takes forever at loading screens going into and out of lobbies, if I try to host a game no one joins, if I'm not on someone else's host I can't buy packs because it just kicks me offline, etc. the problems go on and on. it's really starting to ruin the fun for me. I spend more time trying to find lobbies than I do actually playing.
and I know it's not my internet because I have 30/5 with under 20 ping and play other multiplayer games without issue. I play on PS3 by the way. Maybe that's the problem?
I really hope "big" means at least one new enemy type; and ideally another gametype entirely. I don't know what it would be, but it's time.
Here's the idea I had if Bioware is listening: I'd love to see a base defense mode where you and your teammates have to keep enemy forces from breaching a main gate. Enemy fire (such as from Cannibals/Marauders) could damage its shields, a big enemy (brute, Atlas) could damage the gate physically and bypass the shields - fortunately, players can repair the gate (like a hacking objective) during the wave or between them. I wonder if Bioware could work Harvesters into it. Banshees could theoretically teleport over the gate, making them incredibly dangerous - husks could climb over to cause trouble. They might also work in mounted weapons, which would be handy, and players could work to enable more mounted weapons during the round - at the expense of shooting things. So you'd have to balance building up defenses with dealing with the situation at hand, forcing cooperation and coordination.
I'm not sure where this would leave the more in-your-face classes like Krogans and Vanguards - probably out in front of the gate keeping enemies busy while engineers and soldiers strengthen the defense. Maybe they could even have pizza objectives where you have to venture outside the gate to retrieve an item, and you could either go as a group and leave the base empty, or send out one guy and use the base's defenses to keep enemies off him while he returns to the gate. I dunno - just an idea to play around with.

So I guess the next question is, +2 grenades launched or +damage on the 6th evolution. 5 grenades is technically more damage, however I've found the grenades are good to stagger shit like hunters and phantoms, is the force enough to stagger on gold without the 6th evo?
It's funny how much confidence can affect how you take on Phantoms in Silver and Gold.
Most classes when I see a Phantom it's like "Aw shit, PHANTOM! Down I go"
With vanguards I usually HRAAAAGH
But with the Paladin.... the regular melee is so fast and so strong I barely give it a second thought. I Energy Drain, drop the shield, and then smack the hsit out of them. Sometimes I'll Energy Drain, run up to them, and smack the shit out of them. This is incredibly dangerous, but it doesn't feel dangerous - and it's never gone south on me yet

Queued for Firebase Vancouver, Gold, any enemy. Nothin'.
Queued for FIrebase Vancouver, any difficulty, any enemy. Got put into Geth Bronze with my Destroyer. It was grisly.

turn the corner and suddenly 4 geth pyros in kissing range? YOU NEED A STAGGER, FIRE THE NADES
then once you're 25 feet out you turn around and mow them down
my god the typhoon on the destroyer is great
it's clear that the typhoon/piranha loadout is canon, but a close second is still saber/piranha
