NRA has a basic pistol shooting course that's cheap and teaches you not to be a dangerous moron.
If it's just a thing you want to do on a lark, though, I'll bet the nearest gun range can hook you up with rented guns and range time. Mine even has ladie's night.

Some ranges have beginning shooting classes. You'll look for beginner's shooting classes. Generally those run from $50 to $150 depending on where you are in the country. Or you can go to the range and just rent a gun. Bring someone who does know how to shoot. Stick with .22 or 9mm. Be aware that there are no safe bullets. Even .17hrm will kill someone. If you go that route, look up the four rules. Memorize them. Be religious about them. Muzzle sweeping someone is bad form and will get you kicked out of a lot of ranges.
