I would like to know why Yilias pleaded with me that I come back to the forum and create order.
I also want to know why he thinks I could create order. If I am capable of anything, it's only derailing the thread with side conversations since I haven't had the opportunity to watch anything starcraft related in about two months aside from whatever tournament that was I saw bits of about a week and a half ago.
Dear fancy gaming computer, I miss you. Please get shipped here soon.
In good news, my apartment hunting has revealed a place that has rent, utilities, and cable internet with two separate rooms (one for me and one for my roomie) that would be 800 total split between the two of us. I'm hoping she'll like it because it's right across the street from a mall. I'm also hoping she doesn't attempt to take me shopping all the time. I'll get to meet her later today since she's flying in, and I suppose y'all will meet her eventually on mumble.
The other really good news is when I got my monitor last December, I accidentally bought one that runs 100-240 volts so all it needs is a different cord to plug it in. Hooray!

Basically when SC2 is running, open up your control panel (alt-ctrl-del) and right click on SC2 and set priority to high
again, this is just a hunch, and I know that this patch made some performance improvements, so I don't know if any of that was attributed to the process change. But, I did just play a game vs Mosez and I didn't stutter once in the entire game, which was common for me in normal games, regardless of what was going on on my screen
You can also create a batch file to start SC2. Something like;
Can't try this 'cause I'm not on a machine with SC2 but this runs other exes in High prio.
You could also try lobbing SC2 onto a dedicated core with /affinity 2 (or whatever) but I'd imagine this would be pretty redundant if it's properly multi-threaded.
I moved my video quality settings up to medium for a game and it made everything look exactly like fOrGG's stream. I felt like fOrGG too, I played well, kept my stupid wasteful apm spamming down to a minimum, and took a solid win over a mid masters protoss. I would totally stay there if my laptop could handle it, but during the midgame I got a bunch of stuttering and a 2 second freeze.
A problem that I discovered in my play recently was that I had begun to cycle through all of my production everytime I started a new set of actions. For example: every time I would select my army, I would hit 1,4,5 really quick before I hit 2 to move my army around. I know cycling is good habit, but I was doing it every 2 or 3 seconds, sometimes twice in a row just out of habit. My apm looked through the roof in the high 200's but in reality I wasn't making use of most of those actions. I consciously sat down and forced myself to cycle less, and it's actually been frustratingly hard to play more fluidly. Some games it comes easy and I feel like fOrGG, but then I lift up all my barracks on accident and remember who I am.

Tried out the new HOTS arcade map last night. Got matched up with a guy who was also trying it out for the first time. We chose to not fight each other and just mess around with units. My thoughts on the new Terran stuff:
-Widow Mines were amazing. 200 splash damage and can target air? That's awesome, in fact, it will probably see a change before too long. Loaded up a fleet of Medivacs and drop/burrowed his entire base for lol's.
-Battle Hellion was weird. Going from 90hp Hellion Mode to 135hp Battle Mode was a strange mechanic. Are we gonna see pimp plays of transforming to get the 45hp bonus to survive an attack?
-Warhound's 30 damage, 6-second cooldown missiles were neat. Should make TvT Mech battles a lot more interesting. Missiles didn't work on buildings but did devastate SCV lines. Also strange that it doesn't shoot up. Gotta forget these aren't Goliaths.
-Reaper auto-heal, Ghost cloak change, and BC speed burst all seemed nice, but underwhelming.

Oh, a batch file would make this a lot easier.
I'll get to sort of play this game continuously again one day, then I'll know fo' sho' if priority helps.
i.e. watching replays I used to lag every now and then, but if I'd let the replay load completely first (run at full speed), and then start it back from any time period, it'd run suuuuper smooth. No frame loss whatsoever
So it's not graphics that's my problem, or my connection. It's either memory loading, processing, or a combination.
I've had it for so long that I'm sort of used to it, but it'd be nice for commands not to be delayed by a good 2 seconds or so at random intervals.

hate your face
I like to think that Dhal purposely cut off the t from that sentence because it's as if he didn't let her finish speaking.
Hell, I wonder what he'd do for unreliable, fast internet
Hey Dhal!

I've had it for 5 months.

S'ok, I hate my face too
