I'm not quipping, I'm asking.
Dream Eaters are pretty rad, yeah. Most of the new "systems" in the game are fun, actually, but this made me giggle.
Which is spelled artisanal. Being made by artisans rather than artisins and all. Just a Tychpo is all.
Dammit.
It was actually supposed to be "cartesian bread"
It is according to my weird little dictionary plug-in thing, though dictionary.com disagrees. Curse you internet, why can't you get your shit straight?
artisinal:
Within the context of resource use, the term is used to define small-scale resource users or harvesters (e.g. fishermen) who use or harvest the resource mainly for household consumption but also sell the surplus for commercial gain.
artisanal:
Of or involving artisans; Made by a skilled worker (an artisan), such as a specialty item. Often applied to foodstuffs
Secondly: That's why I asked. Usually, when you enter a non-existent word into Google, it's like the internet shouting at you: "THAT'S NOT A WORD! USE WORDS THAT ARE WORDS, IDIOT!" But artisinal popped up more frequently than non-words usually do. So I'd assume artisinal might very well co-exist with artisanal (which is really an unfortunate portmanteau), albeit with different meanings. Going by your dictionary, though, I'd wager artisanal is what Tycho meant.
Just to be clear, guys, I'm not being dickish about a Tychpo, it was a matter of curiosity.
Thanks for the input.

Because we're all still waiting on a proper KH3 on a god damn console to show up.

The first game was running around with Disney characters, hitting things with a Key Sword, casting magic, and equipping passive abilities, I thought it worked quite well. KH2 came around and added a few more systems, brought in a bunch of original SE characters to the mix, the Disney characters sort of took a backseat, and they added a few new gameplay systems.... fair enough.
Then each game since then has gotten more and more convoluted with so many gameplay systems, characters I have no clue about, and stuff going every which way, that I just plain feel lost and confused. Like an Amish man stumbling into Akihabara.
Not exactly what I'd call a successful demo if the player is left feeling mostly confused.
Well, it's a lot less confusing if you play the tutorials first. In the real game, the systems are introduced one by one with tutorials, though it certainly helps to have played Birth by Sleep. I enjoyed KH 3DS quite a bit, though that's because I just kind of laughed off the original storyline and had fun beating up balloon animals with my keyblade and personal stable of balloon animals.
@Smoogy's got a point, though.
The one that came out on the Nintendo DS between 1 and 2 with the card battle system was...odd. My friend was playing that game, put it down, sat on the couch in a bewildered look and said "I think that game was going to give me a seizure...." and then 20 minutes later, hopped up and went back to playing it.
It's a Meow Wow. Part cat, part dog, all obnoxiously long reaction times when you're trying to pet the thing.
Also comes in enormous, crowned variety.
You don't by any chance know whenabout that post was made? I'd love to read it. While I don't take issue with "having" to read the post, sometimes I'm disappointed having read the post and not knowing anything more about the comic.
A big part of what people think is wanting to keep fans in the dark is two things.
- in publicly traded companies, if something that could effect earnings isn't first disclosed to investors before you talk about it, it has legal ramifications.
-people tend to jump to conclusions, get upset, or expect too much when you talk about stuff too early. Features in a game can change a lot, a whole lot, and games get canned all the time. It's a lot less of a headache if people don't know you canned their dream project to avoid shuttering a more viable project or pulled awesome features to avoid massive delays. So generally not talking about stuff that's not a sure thing is easier on folks at the company.
The point of pointing out the success of say, Gabe Newell despite his open communication with fans is not that Gabe Newell can't be fired, it's that he's been successful and apparently being open with fans hasn't ruined Valve's bottom line.
Tycho seems to be assuming that the Kotaku guy doesn't even understand that there might be career consequences for telling reporters shit you're not supposed to tell them. The real point as I read it is that the PR strategy that restricts devs communication so much is wrongheaded.
So Tycho attacks a strawman, tears it to pieces, and then shits all over the writer of the article: "this is literally the speech and conception of a child." Not his finest hour IMO.
Pharaohs need to L2P.
Hahahaha, I have now.
