@wakkawa thank you! your work has been a huge inspiration to me for nearly an entire decade now.
also, i hope that it didn't take wacom too long to resolve your tablet issue.
I made a brush that I really like by just fooling around with different settings, textures and shapes. It feels really gestural and yet you don't have to change its angle every time you make a new stroke. It'd be neat to see what one of you skilled folks could do with it.

The Huion tablet that I ordered arrived today, I put it through its paces with a photo study.
I am still adjusting to it and figuring out its little quirks, but I can say that at the very least it is an adequate piece of hardware for making art and that I had no problems getting the drivers installed and jumping into photoshop.
Today's assignment was to draw two comics pages. One should be a woman who has lost her son to war, passing by a house and describing it + the weather in relation to how she feels. The other page is the same, except it should be about a man who's in love.
I threw out everything I knew about conventional story telling and did a splash page that doesn't even have any characters in it...
@Scosglen Those portraits are magnificent! -especially those eyes.
Logo for a friends theatre group called 'Newsboy' I'm working on. Any crits would be greatly appreciated. Something about the perspective seems off. And I'm not sure about the Rayman-esque hand yet, but without it he just sorta looks like a boy shouting..
