Yes, the channel is PennyArcade. I just deleted my Shadow last night so I could reroll him as a Sage because I am a terrible tank (as explained a page back). Did you want to Tank, DPS, or Heal? If DPS, I would say Shadow. I've run with 4 DPS characters now, though, and wanted something different. Thus, a healing Sage for me.

Well, my second/Sith main was a Sorc Lightning/Healer, till I got her to about 40 at which point I went full healing.
I think my old Consular was a Shadow but I only got as far as getting her ship. Hadn't decided if I wanted DPS or Tank duties.

Also, can't wait till I reroll my Powertech. Never thought I'd have so much fun using a single pistol but damn did I have a nice attack chain with her and her flamethrower.

If it helps your decision any, the PA presence Republic-side on Shadowlands is pretty much dead.

Sadly true, haven't been able to run an op without pugging DPS for months.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Whereas Empire-side we're progressing in the new hardmode content and running 16man storymode content for new people and most of our raiders are alt'ophiliacs. Although, a few of us are actually working through republics alts right now to see that side of the story.

  • AspectVoidAspectVoid Registered User regular
    I still play republic...

But yeah, its mostly empty. I think there's normally between 2 and 10 guildies from the Republic side on. I've pretty much given up on raiding since any time I've tried, real life has conspired against me, so it doesn't bother me too much.

Anyone on the republic should re-roll on Jedi Covenant and join my guild, Dominus Nihil. We do ops runs daily. :)

Looking that way. I might stick to Republic on BeGreen colony and go Empire on Shadowlands.

We got so close to taking down the 3rd boss yesterday, that transition to phase 2 can be a bitch. Okay, we didnt get that close, the boss still had like 47% health left but it felt close.

47% is closer to dead than it is to full! :D

So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.

The transition is indeed a bitch, but if you can get it done, the rest of the boss' mechanics aren't bad. Just gotta keep people from running through the wrong color during musical chairs and getting someone else one-shot. And setting up some kind of method to keep people from wasting the buff from the probes.

We got the third boss down last night, and might start working on Kephess v2 on Monday. Every fight has just been so much more fun than any other Op, and to me more fun than any raid in 5 years of WoW.

For the probes in phase 2, we have people in group 1/column 1 go first, and then those in group 2/column 2 if their partner had used theirs.

Yeah, the probes were what ultimately ended up killing us. That column one/column 2 idea might work for us, we were going to go by whoever was in the middle goes first, person channeling goes second but when you only have a couple seconds to react and someone calls out COLOR and its your color its really hard to not just run at them.

From what Ive seen of story mode, the final boss is bonkers but really only because there are a bunch of platforms and I dont know where to go and its not possible to practice.

Why did nobody tell me that Guss Tuno was the greatest companion of all time? The smuggler's companions are pretty great spoilered in case people dont want to know what companions you get
you get a Wookie so thats awesome, Risha is pretty cool, then you have Guss "The Walking Tuna" Tuno. Totally makes up for Corso "The Lameness" Riggs.

I should have told everyone. He is indeed the best of companions. I played smuggler last on my republic characters, BIG mistake.

I'm rectifying it by playing IA first on my imperial characters.

So how bad/cheesy is the male BH romance options? I played a female to 42 and want to try something different for the new server.

Also, someone asked what Corso's favorite gift was. I had to tell the dude that it's pretty obvious that it's weapons. Pretty sure the kid named his nail clippers.

    newSig.jpg
  • CormacCormac Registered User regular
I didn't have any problems with the Male BH romance, but that was possibly in part because I really liked Mako and enjoyed having her as my main companion while leveling. The letters she sends you after you get married are hilarious, and I regret not take screenshots of all of them. My memory is quite fuzzy as to how the actual romance proceeds and consummates because it all happened six month ago, but I've watched a few videos of the Torian romance conversations and I much prefer Mako's.

Maybe because I was forcing it, but yeah didn't really care for Torian's romance. I felt like there was a big age gap between my BH and the kid. Like a mid-30s hitting on a 18 year old. I mean, it is kinda sweet at parts but... yeah... it's a BioWare romance.

I understand there are circumstances by which Torian and Mako end up banging and you hear about it. Does this require that you romance neither of them? 'cause I like the idea of the Hunter's ship being a casual fuckboat.

Now I'm picturing the Hunter walking up to either Blizz or Gault and asking about "this weird rythmic knocking/banging that happens every so often." Or Blizz runs up to you wanting permission to "fix the engine" since it's making that weird noise and everyone's trying to explain things to him.

I got the beginning of that option, but couldn't get it to go anywhere. After Torian has been joined up for a bit, Mako will ask if you think he likes her. I told her to go for it and go talk to him. Then neither of them ever brought it up again.

The dialogues just replace the 'romance' options for both of them, I think. Mako had a few scenes with him on my bh.

Yea the Shadowlands Empire side guild is always looking for more people. We are just a bit short of getting a constant 16man thing going, so if you were on the fence about which server to pick that is always a option. Kinda easy to gear up fresh 50's as well now since they nerfed a lot of the SM content.

So I didnt quite get my scoundrel to 50...currently sitting at 48.5 on Corellia. Guss is still super awesome, probably my favorite companion out of the soon to be four (ugh I've played too much of this) characters I've gotten to 50.

Also, I'm not pleased with the black hole com change. Getting 350-700 for the implants is going to take months. Like 4+ of them. Which I guess means I'll get them just in time for 1.5.

Alright, I'm starting to notice that 'stuttering' problem. Like when I'm running straight, everything will jerk forward very slightly every two or three seconds. Is there any known way to fix that yet? It's only really noticeable during long treks between places, game is perfectly playable. Just slightly annoying.

Somebody upthread suggested turning off nameplates completely helped some players. I still have the stuttering problem and it becomes really annoying, but haven't found a solution yet.

Well that's not a change so much as additional gear. You can still get the original black hole implants for 30 or whatever they cost. The 350 implants are just better than the 30 ones.
