Only thing missing from those replays is Bast's (one, only) shining cat moment on Maple Valley, when ebo and I squeezed cubi's jeep, holding it steady as Bast teed up and obliterated it. Almost as if we planned it.
It was followed the next lap by Bast blasting into a group of ebo (his teammate) holding back Cubi and 2 of his cats, only hitting ebo and letting the entire blue team by...
I think Cat and Mouse works a lot better if we follow the ground rules we had last week (no heavy mice and cat's don't just drive backwards). I, personally, really don't find it all that fun otherwise. Heavy mice are just frustrating and pointless while being on the team with someone just driving backwards feels like playing at a handicap.
I didn't have any problems playing without those rules last night but it really wouldn't bother me if we played with them. Personally I find it kind of satisfying to have someone drive around the entire track to hit you head on only to miss because you managed to dodge them.
Yeah, not so fun for the team with the guy driving backwards. I think it's more an issue, as kraut said, of trying it once and then playing normally is fine. Doing nothing but driving backwards the entire time? Not fine.
I feel like fiat 500 vs cherokees would be fun. The mouse should be something sort of tippy (maybe pinto?) but still light. I ended up adding some toe in to my BMW. Scat's car did understeer at times, but it seemed to me it was because the rear was so stable you could just punch the throttle in much more than usual which meant you were trying to go through the corner faster than the front allowed... Anyway, racing with you guys, a little extra stability is a good thing for me.

Threw Bull's tune around the track a few times just to see a few things.
It's not bad. The only things I'd say about it are that it's a bit floaty at speed and that the front tire pressure is pretty high at 33.5 PSI or higher. It also oversteers a bit in most scenarios.
It was a joke about the bumpiness of Nurburgring GP because lowering the car and upping the spring rates would be a terrible idea. I have my suspension 2 or 3 clicks above the lowest setting.
No, I am not really communist. Yes, it is weird that I use this name.
Hmm, I was getting sparks on elevation changes on Suzuka, I'm sure I'll be fine on 'ring GP. Just fine.
Also, didn't get a chance to say it before signing off last night, but fantastic race Kraut. We spent somewhere around 6 or 7 laps within 30 feet, most of the time I could see the nose of his car in my view in 3rd person, most straights turned into a drag race. Sadly (for me) the pressure eventually got to me and I blew a couple corners, letting him by and once he was free of me holding him up in the corners (and since my nerves were still fried) he pulled away by the end, but god those laps were immensely tense/terrifying.
Haha, those laps were incredible. To be fair I think we are both a bit too 'soft' as drivers. You reeled me in because I was getting frazzled and making lots of small mistakes. Then you got by and I was able to chase which is a little easier in my opinion, but it was tough keeping it close but clean. I don't think we actually ever made contact in the whole 6/7 laps we raced-? Also, you didn't actually mess up, it was 2 laps to go and we were side by side going into corner 1, instead of backing off, I just kept in it which put me ahead in the esses, though I could see you were faster through there. I was faster through the double 90's and through 130R, but lap to lap we were very close. Also, I turned my mic all the way down for the last two laps so I could concentrate on not messing up the last two laps. I'm just glad I pitted before everyone else (to be fair, kaddion and I were battling, and I knew I was faster but never fast enough to make the pass, so instead I pitted). I passed 5 people as they pitted/exited the pits. I didn't actually have to make a pass except battling you and the first two laps of battling.

Yeah, outside of maybe swapping some paint on the hairpin once, we didn't make contact. All the contact I made was with Kaddion, in the beginning when he got trapped behind me on cold tires and then post-pit, when I made a bad assumption about his line through the chicane and accidentally dove on him (felt really bad about that one).
I couldn't remember if I screwed up or not, I was being hyper-critical on myself through all those laps as I knew every little mistake was going to count. I just remember that last lap ahead beating myself up over overcooking the double-apex and thinking I went wide on the chicane.
I only got past Arctic, ebo, and cubivore due to a single mistake on their part. And I'm not sure I would have held off Bast if the universe hadn't screwed him again. Otherwise I was within 100 ft of ebo or cube for most of that race. In fact, I was 100 ft back from ebo when I pitted, then about 10 laps later after he pitted, I was again 100 ft behind him, that's how even our lap times were.
Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.

The pressure got to me. Good race, Stew.
Though it was two mistakes on my part. On lap one I was following Arctic too closely and he braked in the middle of a straight, where I sustained something like 21% front and 12% side aero damage.
The NASCAR race at the glen was a lot of fun, and showed that Camino Viejo has some competition regarding walls built to send traffic back into the racing line.
Also, Delta Wing at Road America right now is sexy as hell. Super pissed that I have to work and can't join my family there right now.

There are tragically few videos coming from the race on Thursday. I'm surprised I screwed up twice in one race and nobody has thrown either incident up yet.

Cubivore posted these two from the Cold Tires incident during the practice on the SA boards.
So, gentermen, I am dealing with a bit of a tough choice- my girlfriend flies in at 3:50 pm on Thursday. I also love Suzuka the mostest.
Maybe I can hope that we're both worn out enough at that point that it's ok if I take an hour and a half to play Forza?
If I've learned anything from the top half of this page, you should make sure she's got hella toe in, then you'll suddenly go to shit halfway through and be able to go play Forza.
So she saw that and was like, "oh jeez" Wouldn't have mattered with how much donkey cock Comcast was sucking all weekend.
So apparently my building's manager turned the NAT settings on on the building's router. I haven't been able to get a hold of him to tell him how stupid and unnecessary that is yet. Here's hoping I can convince him to turn off NAT by Thursday.
So questions about tire temps...
1. I have an Alfa in A class that is 1,600lbs and has ~300hp and it is great once the tires get up to temp but sucks nuts for the first lap or two. Is there any sort of tuning I can do to get the tire temps up quicker?
2. I have a Bently that is 5800lbs that I've been trying to make for cat and mouse / dealing with assholes in hoppers and the front tires stay at super high temps. They are almost always yellow (260F?) . How could I tune that out?

The possibility of missing the rest of the season due to my landlord got me curious, what are the standings currently if we dropped the worst race.
1. Scatman at 59 points
2. Ebo at 49 points
3. Arctic at 46 points
4. Veevee at 45 points
5. Cubivore at 43 points
6. Stew at 41 points
7. Eclibull at 40 points
8. Bast at 40 points
9. Kraut at 36 points
10. Michel at 35 points
11. Kaddion at 32 points
12. CommunistCows at 32 Points
Makes the battle for the podium that much tighter, and if all things remain equal but only scatman misses a race, he drops off of the podium. At this point, it really is your championship to lose scatman. Don't fuck it up.
Edit: also, the winner of the pole has won every race this season.
VeeVee, I would mention that the NAT settings are affecting your xbox from properly connecting to servers and you can't connect to 'any' games through xbox live and that it is also affecting your connectivity to netflix and hulu. Basically, lie a little because they probably won't bat an eye that you can't access one game. But maybe they'll help more if its affecting your 'whole media center'?
Cows, send me your tunes and I'll check it out, hard to give blanket advice. The alfa is the 33 stradale I imagine? I detuned that into B class, its amazeballs. If you're using the stock tires, it'll never grip.
That is exactly what I plan on saying kraut. I also have a backup location I can bring my xbox to on thursdays if I have to, but of course I'd prefer not to

I chose a car that wasn't from America so that I could consistently win races.
Probably going to wind up missing at least a week though because of the move in a few weeks. We'll see.

Actually it isn't the Stradale it is the Giulia Sprint GTA 1965 I think. I'll send you the tunes and if you can figure out the tire temp problems please let me know what you did and why. I'm more interested in knowing how to tune those sorts of problems so I can fix them on my own later.
How did you detune the Stradale into B class? Didn't it start out as A501 or something?
No, I am not really communist. Yes, it is weird that I use this name.
I'll let you know what I tweak on the GTA. I love that car. Drives great with drag tires (put power in, and its so light, it can still turn but will hook coming out of the corner). Can't remember about the 33 stradale, but big rims was part of it! haha.

Yeah. We'd hit him and bounce off, which really kind of destroyed the whole point of the game.
Ah, well boo to that. Weight limits sound fine.
Even though I failed pretty hard when I was the mouse, I was still kind of surprised how well my 2,100lb pinto did. It seemed to recover pretty well.
See you guys in 2 weeks.

Managed a few low 2:13s, but that's about it.

By adding weight by way of the heavy ass rims, I would guess
