if you're good at last hitting you can probably deny every creep that ion shell is killing cause it is predictable constant damage, but it can get difficult and also impossible if you are melee hero
I am regularly bothered by when I learn outdated DotA1 names that simply don't exist anymore, but can't stop from using them.
Furion for Natures Prophet in particular, completely written out of DotA2. Goosin' Sepah.
Lothar's bothers me too, can't stop from saying Lothars. Also completely written out. There's a plethora of things that are "shadow": demons and fiends for starters. Hardly need a shadow blade so I don't mind that one as much.
so how do you counter ds "suicide lane"? cause it seemed more like ds freefarm a 15 min pipe lane. shell destroys any melee heroes, pushes the tower into lane so you cant stack and pull, and surge makes him fuckin ungankable
also cm is a pretty great mode. people really know how to play. solid picks and lanes and smoke ganks, wards and counterwards and gems and trilanes. its madness! a far cry from the typical -ap 5 melee carry pubfest
Whoever is farming needs to keep the lane stationary while your supports zone him.
He shouldn't be allowed to get an easy level 2, you'll want a lane ward to see whenever he comes away from his tower.
Sit between him and the creeps and hit him in the face if he tries to get xp.
I have a bugged item that I got ages ago, a haircut for Drow Ranger that counts as a weapons slot item. When I equip it she has two sets of hair clipping through each other and no bow at all (which makes her attack animation look pretty silly).
Sometimes I wonder if the bug actually somehow makes the item valuable. Are there any good Dota 2 trading sites where one could find info like that?
I haven't encountered any bugged items yet, besides my Sange and Yasha (cosmetic) for Riki that doesn't replace the regular dagger for the Sange part, leading to a two pronged dagger with a Sange in the gap.
I was a gifted this the other day and have always been interested in playing it but this is easily the most intimidated I've felt by a game/community in my life. I can just see me getting yelled at right away for dying as soon as I walk into a group of stuff.

I had a great game with Witch Doctor a couple of days ago, but the ending was hilarious. Templar Assassin picks the worst time ever to respawn. I recorded it at half speed so it's a bit easier to see what happens.
I've become pretty used to the new names now, but I still call Nature's Prophet Furion. It like the only name I can't get used to.
I also have a tendency to call Centaur's new ult "Rampage" instead of "Stampede." Probably cause I was watching old Archer episodes when he first came out.
If you think he's bad now just remember that his aghs upgrade let the replica wall create illusions from his own team.
Huh, that reminds me of a game I had against a Dark Seer; his team was stomping us, so he built a refresher orb. They would push towers and that fucker would lay down double ult walls, at acute angles to each other, and intersecting. It was awful.

I don't get why teams keep assigning Huskar. If you don't have a balanced/good lineup to counter him he's like. Seriously nasty.

I guess cause he falls off late game? I have to say though, I won't be surprised if pros doing reverse captain's mode changes a bunch of top level meta.

I feel like with Berserker's Blood attack speed (and +damage never hurts) he scales pretty well with late game attack items, and with a BKB and a Heart good luck killing him before he gets to 50% health and proceeds to attack 5 billion times a second and murder your whole team while regenerating it all with Inner Vitality and some lifesteal.
I feel his issue is that he requires a lot in his core (lifesteal, magic immunity, and damage) while not carrying hard enough to be worth the early game investment. Treads, a HoD, and a BKB is 7150g. If you throw in an Armlet or a Heart it'll be 9750g or 12650g respectively. For 7150g, a midgame carry like Morphling would have his Treads and an Eblade, which is a lot scarier. Likewise, a lategame carry like PA would be throwing out 2 shot crits at the 11k+g point.

Agreed, I've seen him scale very well, but that's always what you see the "pros" say about him.

Huskar is a lot different than the classic late game carries. (I would argue he isn't one) He doesn't really need to farm up items. He can basically go on an extended killing spree once he hits 6. He bursts like an assassin, and then has a pretty mean sustained dps output. He's not too hard to shut down though, in my experience he needs early kills, if he doesn't get them, he's worthless.
Sooo I'm trying to figure out what went wrong with my profile for match making.... I've got 7 Abandons (For reasons like having to go out or to go feed my baby etc) and i've played probably a few hundred games and i think my pvp stands at 19-16 or somewhere there abouts, but in the last 2 weeks its been putting me into games with people that are playing for the first time etc? I used to be in games where we would run over hard bots in around 20-25 minutes, now it seems like my team are all new to the game are we get beaten in like 50 mins on hard and i'm the only member of the team being productive....can anyone explain why i've been put into this bracket?

Probably because you have 7 abandons out of 35 games , which puts you into the worst possible skill queue.
1: Being in the leaver queue or a low skill queue is not a punishment from the gods for being an evil person. I hear a lot of people complaining about getting into the leaver queue because they have network problems/computer crashes, or because they sometimes have really important business they might have to deal with. The reality is that it does not matter to the rest of the team why you left, just like it will not matter to you if that silent stranger in the leaver queue game left because he was raging or because his house was literally on fire. It sucks, but being in the leaver queue is not that bad.
2: Take the opportunity to shine! Low skill brackets means you will be relatively better, so take the opportunity to play semicarries and gankers and wipe the floor with your enemies/bots. If you find Hard games against the AI to be a challenge because your allies are feeding there is no shame in playing against normal bots instead.
Thanks for the feedback, so it only calculates the games you've played against other players and not against bots is what you are saying Dhalphir?
Correct, games against bots may as well not exist as far as matchmaking goes.
EDIT: I don't know if this applies to both solo bot games or co-op bot games.

I currently have 2 hats equipped for Kunkka. The tri-corner and the pirate bandanna. When I got both, the bandanna was designated for the body-head slot, and the tri-corner was just for the head. Now both seem to be for the head slot. I don't want to unequip either....because it looks pretty boss, and also I'm afraid I may not be able to equip both at once again.
+1

You are probably rated as epic pooper and misses queues whilst pooping.
Also we tried doing reverse captain's mode inhouse but I don't think everyone liked it. I'd be up for doing it again.
Lets try and do an inhouse on Fridays. Say about 8pm est. or maybe earlier. Maybe do one reverse CM and then we can do normal stuff. CM mode or AR. I will be there so the rest of you should come 8pmish est
I hadn't even noticed you couldn't equip them together any more. I thought it looked really cool, but unequipped the bandana because I don't like how Kunkka doesn't have any facial animations when wearing it. Same thing with the heads for Faceless Void.
I got kind of annoyed at someone randoming Enchantress and playing her really poorly, so I went Enchantress in my next game. This was the result.

Seven abandons in 35 games? Yeah, no wonder. I get having real life come up, but that's extremely rude to your team. I'm a father too, I "get it"...but don't get in to a 45 minute game of Dota if you know you're about to go out, or the baby is about to get hungry. You basically waste the time of four other people (nine other people if you want to get technical), and in your case you do it in 20% of your games. That's why the system puts you in the lowest possible queue.
Once that ratio goes up, and abandons aren't 20% of your games, you should notice it easing up.

atoD continues to confuse me. Now teams are giving away AA, who is an actual pick, and Omniknight, who sometimes gets picked. Wha o_O
Still super confused about the Huskar drafts yesterday. Dude is like, one of the Pubstomper All Stars, giving him to your team in a mode where you know you'll have a crappy lineup seems like a bad idea.

I'll consider that a 3 days late birthday gift, Gaben, thanks.
I should probably get a couple of keys for the 2 diretide chests I've got left over.
