D'Vorrah looks pretty interesting, but I'm still so far going with Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, and Takeda. Since Reiko hasn't been confirmed yet, I'll leave it to Takeda to satisfy my shuriken/kunai needs. Plus... PLASMA SWORDS.
Wait who is Tremor? Never mind just looked him up, I like that they went with some obscure MK characters to flesh out rather than more gimmicks, even tho gimmick characters like predator are fun. Also will all of this be available straight away or is it a staggered release for each pack?
Also does this mean Lui Kang is in it? Or is it just a skin?
I have to say so far I'm not a big fan of the Jason character model, it looks goofy, like its head is too small

Tremor looks awesome, but I'm a bit iffy about the predator character model too, way too skinny and not tall enough, they're like 8ft tall and built as shit
He apparently showed up in the challenge tower in MK9 on the Vita.
Tremor was added as a playable character during the Bonus Challenge Tower in the Playstation Vita version of Mortal Kombat (2011). His "backstory" in said game states Tremor was apprehended by the Special Forces and imprisoned after being betrayed by Kano, acting under the facade of a confidential informant for the Special Forces, who were searching for the Black Dragon, but Tremor escaped. He then targeted both Kano and Jax for revenge.
I dunno they're both bald headed glowy eyed sort of sorcery dudes. But I probably shouldn't complain in a series that's known for pallete swaps, I'm sure they'll be distinct in X. I think Tanya and Tremor look really interesting, I like the idea of fleshing out obscure characters for the dlc pack rather than just all gimmicks. I definitely think X so far has the best roster if almost any MK game
I read up on Tanya and she seems pretty interesting. I like the idea of a jade kind of character that's just in it for herself and is a self-interested survivor kind of personality. Tremor seems less interesting but looks badass and I'll always love MKs ninja characters

Have a nice wired and wireless one for 360 that I changed out the stick/buttons on. It's what has kept me from buying KI even though it's really fun. I hope microsoft does something to follow suit.

Apparently the tech they're using was specifically designed for PS4 and it isn't compatible with all sticks.
From what I understand, Sony will allow any hardware to work providing a driver is written for it, and they give access to devs at a low level to program these. The skull girl devs, working with someone from naughty dog, pieced together a driver that'll allow the vast majority of sticks (and other direct input devices) to work.
They've then offered this out free to the community with the condition if any work is done on it, it's shared.
I believe, and could be wrong, that the xbox one is more restrictive when it comes to hardware and devs aren't given the opportunity to create drivers for unsupported hardware.

Special Mention: Reiko (MK4): Originally he was going to be Noob Saibot, but they wanted more new characters, so they basically pallette swapped him to make Reiko (which is why they both use shurikans) and the only thing they really had going for him is that he might have bee secretly Shao Kahn, but they basically lampshaded that plotline in the Konquest mode in MK: Deception. So he doesn't get on the list because he got retconned into a nothing-person.
5. Meat (MK4/MK:A): Not really any story (He's another experiment by Shang Tsung, like Ermac) but man did he have some cool moves. He throws his head as a projectile and would basically "Splat" into the ground as a teleport. With the new gore system, they could really do some crazy shit with Meat.
4. Fujin (MK4): God of Wind and peer to Raiden. There's not much more to him, but I think seeing more of Earth's gods is interesting and controlling the wind is a fairly unique powerset (though I guess it might edge too close to Kenshi's and Ermac's telekinesis)

Nitara (MK:DA): Boring backstory (Her realm was conquered from Shao Kahn in the olden days, so she's looking to free it from Outworld in the wake of his death) but VERY unique visual design (a lady with batwings and missing an eye) and she has vampire powers which is a fairly unique powerset in Mortal Kombat.
2. Havik (MK:D): I'll get the tough bit out of the way: Havik has a boring backstory. He worships chaos, that's it. Why is he number two? Because his shtick is that he can contort his body is impossible ways; he can spin his upper body around like a helicopter, breaks his own neck as a taunt and in general is really amusing to watch in action. Though his backstory is boring, it does make him flexible, as he'll support whoever will cause the most chaos, so that occasionally means helping the good guys avoid defeat. (Good guys vs bad guys creates lots of chaos, you see.)

Ashrah (MK:D): She looks similar to Raiden, though she still looks cool, and she has a lot of spinning movies ala Kung Lao, but she has the best backstory out of all of the characters on this list. She was a demon and a member of Quan Chi's brotherhood of shadow, but she found a holy sword in the Netherrealm that was designed to kill demons. But every time Ashrah uses it to kill a demon, it purifies her soul a little bit, making her story one of redemption. I think that's really cool. Also she has a voodoo doll fatality, so that's cool.

Reiko, Havik and Fujin all play a role in the prequel comic. In fact, Reiko is prominent enough that he just might make it into the game.
Frost doesn't make a good choice for varieties sake, especially now that Sub-Zero has three different fighting styles (previously they just offloaded all of the freeze moves that Sub-Zero didn't have in that particular game)
I agree that Ashrah was a cool character I'd like to see return. A lot of the other new characters from the MK:DA and MK:D era were kinda lame though, imo.
To be fair, I think it's only nostalgia that keeps most MK3 characters afloat. I recall the Cyberninjas being considered rather dumb at the time, and characters like Sindel and Sheeva were just kinda there. (Sheeva was probably only fondly remembered for being the first playable Shokan). Stryker I feel like was only liked ironically, but it eventually mutated into a genuine like of the character.
Nightwolf I always felt was always terrible, even when I was too clueless to realize how bad of a Native America stereotype he is. I think Kabal is the only new character in that game that people liked right away.
EDIT: And I don't think anyone fondly recalls the new MK4 characters besides Quan Chi. Fujin is probably the most memorable, but characters like Jarek, Reiko and Tanya were bland as hell and does anyone even remember Kai? I still hear people say Shinnok sucks.

The comic really makes me think that Reiko and Frost should be in the game. That they apparently aren't is... odd.
