Yeah I quickly abandoned mouse for my keyboard. I only found out afterwards that it supports pad, I imagine that would ideal.
When is Black Mesa coming to Steam? Trying to hold off on downloading it till then.
Nobody knows. Between Valve Time and the speed the Black Mesa team works at, my forecast is some time in 2018.
So today I idly added FTL to my wishlist because it looks neat and I enjoyed the OnLive preview demo way back during the Kickstarter. Just now, I was playing New Vegas (which is amazing and everyone should get it) and because this is my "mod everything" runthrough it crashed (it does that every so often). And what do I find waiting for me after the crash? @Ketar gifted me FTL! This marks the second time I have been given a game about space from a frog, in fact, because a while ago the very same Ketar gave me SPAZ. So... that's some real class right there! As is my custom, I have added class to the avatar (or in this case the larger version of the avatar found in the profile picture):

Probably not for a few weeks. Greenlight is still new, so nobody really knows how long the process takes.
Also, I found that using the Torrent with it's autoinstaller worked very very well. Hell, it's got it's own in game achievements all setup and ready to go. I haven't run it yet, beyond once to get the resolution set. And the newer Torrent from the official site downloaded pretty quick. Lot's of seeders.
So I just updated my nVidia drivers today, to 306.23 and now the Steam Overlay is making Cladun X2 all funky.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes or will I need to roll back?
So turning VSync off fixed it.
In other news, I've owned Borderlands since the Summer Sale and I *still* can't finish downloading it due to busy tubes at my house. Please tell me it's worth it.

So I went and picked up this:

Then it occurred to me. The computer in every game cheats. That what computers do. They cheat because they can. In Puzzle Quest, they know which three matches will grant them that (supposedly 5% chance) extra turn and they'll pick it over a 4-match. In Tekken, Jinpachi once hit me with an unblockable stun move, then a super for half my health, then the same unblockable stun, then the super again. I want you to PM me your best stories about Cheating AI.

Not a cheating story (and I'm not entering the contest) but I remember my brother being convinced that the computer would learn and adapt it's strategies in all games on his Amiga 500 so he would always reboot after playing a while and losing. I guess the AI was a lot better back in those days.
I would always use that bug in Puzzle Quest to my advantage. Since it was the same board each time, I would just make an invalid move to waste my turn and then use the AI's trick on it for at least the beginning of the round.

Is there a way to disable the mouse cursor in big picture mode entirely? It's really irritating playing games with a controller and there's a cursor in the menu, in the middle of the screen.
The whole thing is kind of pathetic honestly. I mean the purpose of this would appear to be to get more people to find out about black mesa, but at this point who doesn't already know about it? It's been in development for years. And after months (years?) of not showing us anything or making so much as a peep to even acknowledge that it's still alive they're going to hold some screenshots hostage, that may or may not even be new, until they get 20,000 likes on facebook? Are you kidding me? I'm sorry, but f them and f this game. I will buy bad rats with my own money and play through it 3 times if this game ever gets released. They are now trying way too hard at keeping this game alive by doing everything except actually work on it. What a joke.
I'll even add 1 to it. 4 times. all the way through. I'll do a LP or something to prove it. This is how confident I am that this game will not come out.
My god is Walking Dead good. Easily Game of the Year so far for me, and it's been a pretty good year really.
Also, Black Mesa sets up with Steam nicely, first game I've seen where a seperate setup.exe makes its own Steam entry. It doesn't have all the achievement bells and whistles, but it works nice with the overlay (bringing it up pauses the game) which is nice.
Is FTL only for real Roguelike fans or is it a generally fun game? I just paid for Kerbal Space Program (which is amazing) But I'm tempted by FTL for some story-making fun. Is it still fun if you're not great at it? ( I will ask in the FTL Thread but I trust you guys' opinions more)

Game does look awesome. I'll be digging in after BL2 Launch Week is over.

The Walking Dead is amazing (so far, although I doubt they'll fuck up the remaining two episodes), even if you (like me) aren't a fan of traditional adventure games.
Honestly, it's my favorite iteration of the Walking Dead franchise, since so far it's better than both the comic and the TV show.

Is there a config file somewhere? The game has no options at all for resolutions or such.
Been absent from the thread for a while, but needed someone to talk me down from the ledge. I swore off buying I Am Alive until it came (came back?) to PC, yet there it is for fifteen bucks. I'd heard unkind things about it since then, and am quite torn because it still looks like it tickles my fancy right proper. Anyone have any impressions to share, yay or nay?

From the wiki for some crazy reason Ubi patched out the DRM(Tages) from the physical media versions, but will not patch it out from Digital versions (1.1 patch), and steam probably yanked it over that (something something rules say you must make the patched version available on steam at some point). v1.2 also apparently has never been released for the US version of the game.
